H is for Homicide is the eighth in the Kinsey Millhone mystery series by Sue Grafton. It was one of those occasions when I suddenly realised how happy I was. I was female, single, with money in my pocket . . . I had nobody to answer to and no ties to speak of. As usual I’d forgotten how surges of goodwill merely presage bad news. After a three-week-long investigation, Kinsey couldn’t wait to get … Kinsey couldn’t wait to get home. What she needed most was a few quiet days by herself – but two things happened to change all her plans. First she ran into a murder case. Then Kinsey met Bibianna Diaz, and before the night was over they were sharing a prison cell . . .

This is a great series.
Sue Grafton never fails to entertain
Kasey Milhone is a great p.i.
I have read all of the alphabet books, but alas, will truly miss being able to read “Z is for….” I enjoyed seeing how Kinsey grew from A to Y. For those who don’t know what I am talking about, read “A is for Alibi”. That is the beginning for our study of Kinsey.
Typical Gafton, funny and easy to read
This is a good who dun it.
Same review as I wrote for “D is for Deadbeat.”
I’ve read all of the Kinsey Milhoune books to date and enjoyed all of them. It’s interesting the way Sue Grafton has decided to place the time setting in the 80s so you have to think back to all the technology that Kinsey doesn’t have available to her. It’s also nice to see a strong female character competing in a typically male dominated …
Stories are great and characters are very entertaining. She keeps me up trying to finish the book! Great series.
More of Grafton’s good reads!
Her books were always fun to read.
Sue Grafton books are awesome. I would start with A is for Alibi. You will be hooked and go for B. Mysteries you won’t want to put down!
This is a good series that ran of out steam for me around the letter “S.” I don’t really know why, but it did. Part of it, I think is because Kinsey is forever trapped in the 80’s while the rest of us are barrelling hell-bent for leather through the 2020’s. If you like your PI mystery to have a slightly nostalgic feel for the days of big hair and shoulder pads, this could be your jam. These books are well-written and tightly plotted and are a great way to pass a day at the beach.
I’m regret that Sue Grafton passed away before she could complete the alphabet in her series …
A true page turner
If you haven’t read any of Sue Grafton books, you need to start with A is for Alibi.
Sue Grafton books are always wonderful! She makes the reader feel like they are back in the time period of her characters. I recommend all of her books from A to Y.
I have read all the Sue Grafton books; they are all good.
Just sorry there will be no more! Will miss her great reads so guess I’ll have to start the alphabet over again.
Grafton is one of my top three mystery writers. She never lost her focus or wandered off, throughout her Kinsey Milhone series. She is up there with Dick Francis and Robert Parker, when they were doing the series, vs their literary heirs. This is Grafton prime.
