This is one truly emotional romance.
I swore to myself that I was only going to read the HEA of this book… and I did… until this afternoon.
Gypsy “Lyla” is broken and doesn’t know if she’s ever going to get better. Then she meets Jameson and feels a connection that’s been missing for a while now. Jameson falls in love with her from the moment he hears her voice. But love isn’t always an easy path.
This story is so very well written and developed that it will pull you in and hold you there. The question is… will you play it safe and just read the HEA or will you read it as the author saw it ending? Tissues will be needed either way.

Oh God! How do you describe Gypsy? This book will tug on your heartstrings until you feel every emotion the lead characters feel. This is the story of Lyla, aka Gypsy, and Jameson. He is a record producer who is introduced to a new band playing in a bar in Nashville. Right away, Jameson falls for the raspy voice of the lead singer. As he becomes involved with Lyla, he senses a deep pain within her and seems helpless to stop her self-destruction. This is an awesome romance that will carry you to the highest of highs and to the lowest of lows. As Lyla tries to tell Jameson, he cannot unbreak the broken. This book has two endings provided by the author, one of which is an HEA. This author touches on a painful topic, a topic that society needs to address in order to assist those persons struggling with depression. KUDOS, Ms. Moore, for shining a light on the depths of despair that promotes suicide and the needs for professional intervention. A book that will touch one’s soul!
Wow such a heartbreaking book, it touches so many different emotions. Gypsy has the voice of an angel yet so much heartbreak, Jameson sees her and is determined to make her into a star. There are many ups and down in this book. I havent read all of Kelly’s books but I will have to say that this one was masterfully put together, gut wrenching even. I loved having the option of the two endings of the story, with all that Gyspy had endured it decided to go with the HEA. I would definitely recommend this book to others
Gypsy is trying to get through life after a heartbreaking tragedy. With the help of her friends/bandmates and her songs she is existing as best she can. One night after seeing her perform, Jameson tries to get her to record at his studio with the promise of making it big. Gypsy which is Lyla’s stage name is not sure she wants that for her life for a very understandable reason. Something inside of Jameson draws him to this women. As they slowly spend more and more time together Jameson learns of her past as she slowly opens up to him. This story of heartbreak and love is told with the help of Gypsy’s original songs. Kelly Moore is not only a great writer of stories but a beautiful songwriter as well!
Wow!
What an amazing story! This author knows how to hook you in right from the very beginning.
Jameson is a man that falls hard and fast for the beautiful singer, Gypsy, he just can’t help it. Their connection is on a whole deeper lever than just physical attraction. It’s like Jameson can see inside Gypsy’s soul and knows that she is tragically wounded and scared.
Gypsy is an incredible singer whose songs touch the very core of people. She sings about the life she once had which her fans don’t realize that the pain and sadness in her songs come from that incredible pain within her, about her horrible loss.
This story is heartbreaking and tragic but it also about love and healing. The struggle to overcome a tragic loss is very real. There are some people can make it through those darkest times and then there are those that can never get past the trauma.
I love how this story showed the incredible attempts of Jameson to motivate and help Gypsy move forward with her life. The emotions necessary to tell this kind of story come from the very core and leave you spent. That’s also how I felt when I finished this book. It was heartbreaking but turned out to be quite satisfying.
Excellent job! I loved it!
Lyla (Gypsy) is a tortured soul with a talent for writing music and a beautiful voice. Jameson is a music producer who went to the bar to hear for himself the beautiful voice his friend had been telling him about. Loved the connection and chemistry between Lyla and Jameson. This is an intense read full of emotion and heartache. I definitely recommend you break out the Kleenex for this book. I loved that we got two possible endings, but it made it so hard to choose, so I read both. This is a well written book with believable characters and a great storyline by an amazing author.
This book is a such a heartfelt and emotional read and from the first page I was hooked. It has great storyline that is compelling, entertaining, and heartbreaking. The characters, Jameson and Lyla, are intriguing, engaging, well developed and have an amazing chemistry. I strongly encourage you to read this book, you definitely won’t regret it.

For honest review. Tyler ask Jameson Wilde to check out a band since he owns Wilde recording studio in Nashville . When he sees Gyspy band he has to have them, but he is also drawn to the lead singer. This is a story that will take you on a journey of depression get your tissues ready . 10 stars for best writing i found that even a day later I was thinking of this story.
A beautiful story that was so hard to put down, A hard story to review without spoiling the book. I loved the story and got lost in it when I read it, I felt like I was right in the story as it was moving from page to page. All I can say it was a wonderful and beautiful book.
HEARTFELT!I LOVED IT
OMG! This read will pull everything from you! A raw beautifully written read pack with so many emotions from one page to the next you will laugh, cry and have your feathers ruffled but most of all you want to reach into the story and give comfort while needing it for yourself as you get swept up into the drama that seems incredibly realistic and not just words your reading. Engrossing twists infused with emotions that is impossible to put down. Passionate sexy chemistry. A definite must read that will stick with you long after the last page has been read!
If you are looking for a sticky sweet romance this is not the book for you – however – if you are looking for a book that touches you like no other and rips your heart to shreds and then slowly puts it back together again than this is the perfect book for you. With each layer of strength and heartbreak that Gypsy and those that fall in love with her have to endure the reader cannot help but feel all the feels. With beautifully written characters and an emotional storyline this book deserves well more than 5 stars!!
I am generally HEA kind of reader. I like feel-good stories. I read both endings but have to admit chapters 17 and 18 fit better with this tragic story. I cried…….
Our hero, Jameson, was so strong and when he fell he fell hard. And he loved well, too. It just wasn’t enough to heal the broken. She was just too broken…..
This book was gifted to me by the author in return for an honest review. Although heart-breaking, it was a wonderful story
Kelly Moore has given us another epic book. This is the story of Lyla, stage name Gypsy, and Jameson. Jameson has come to Brew’s Brothers because his best friend, Tyler, says he needs to hear Gypsy sing. She calls out to him right away , as if she’s only singing to him. Gypsy isn’t interested in a recording contract and when we learn her story, we’ll understand why. Gypsy and Jameson grow closer, but will he be able to heal the broken in her or will he end up broken in the end? I won’t leave any spoilers because everyone needs to read this amazing, emotional book. Ms. Moore always writes a book that sucks you in and this book sure does that. For those of you that want an alternate ending, she includes that too.
This is story is a little bit of a roller coaster. There are lots emotions in this book. It is not a sweet romance but it is a love story. The author has made the characters so powerfully real that you feel all their emotions, especially Lyla’s pain, tissues may be needed for parts of this story. Jameson manages to bring some light to her life but is it enough? There are two endings in this book – one is heart wrenchingly sad that you will need tissues, and one is light and happy with everything turning out perfect for the happy couple.
I loved this story of Gyspy and Jameson.
I am always taken aback by Kelly storylines and new ideas . not always knowing what is going to happen.
great narration in the audible version I hope he does the next book as he has very relaxing voice.
Thank you x
I can’t remember the last time I read a book that I loved and hated so much, all at the same time. Jameson records up and coming artists in his studio and believes he has just found his next star, Gypsy. Her voice is beautiful and she sings from her soul. Her bandmates are very protective of her because of a tragedy she experienced in her past. The night that Jameson hears her sing, he knows that this group of musicians is headed for stardom. But Gypsy is a complicated woman, with her refusal to sign a recording contract because she’d rather sing in a club for a short time and pick up and move on a whim. Jameson fell in love with her voice, and now he’s falling in love with her. She wants to love him, that is clear, but too often runs or spends nights with a bottle. Until Jameson learns the source of her anguish, he can’t hope to get through to her. She lives with the memory of a different life and how it was taken from her in one moment. Jameson is very patient with her and allows her to cry and grieve, hoping she will come to him in the end. When she finally feels safe in his arms, she allows a little light into her heart and is ready to love again. All this time, her band has been performing to sold out shows and she regains her job of recording and performing her music. They shoot to the top of the music charts and life is successful and brings her joy. She’s ready to commit to Jameson, and they are married with their fans around them. But, her tragic past came to life once more and she couldn’t outrun her emptiness. This is a story of captivating highs and painful lows, but leaves us with a glimmer of hope.
Adam Riley did a marvelous job with the narration. He allowed me to feel the story, as well as listen to it.
***Spoilers***Gypsy’s depression was difficult to read because my mind kept pleading with her to do something about it! Don’t drink, don’t run, get help! It hits hard and deep for me and amplified my sorrow at the end. Still, I’m so glad I listened and read Gypsy, because it is a beautiful love story that does give you hope in the end.
What the heck just happened? I am shocked, teary-eyed and just flabbergasted! This is an amazing story filled with feeling. The story really drew me into it. Jameson is a guy who is over the one-night stands. He isn’t looking for anyone but keeps an eye peeled..you know just in case. Once her heard her sing…he was a goner. Everything about Gypsy drew him in. I could hear it and feel it from the narrator. He was star struck!
This author does an outstanding job pulling emotion from characters and laying it on the line for her readers. I am riveted to the pages of her stories. This one is no exception. The story is shocking and the characters are impressive. They seem very real. The songs (lyrics) are perfect….I could almost hear her singing them.
I did listen to this on audio. Adam Riley is the narrator and he ROCKED it.
I received an advanced copy and I’m voluntarily leaving my review. Kelly Moore is an AMAZING author and writes such awesome stories that you don’t want to miss. This is a MUST read and ONE-CLICK.
