I’m not all that special, really. Or uncommon. I’m sure there are a lot of girls with old gypsy blood who see the dead, have killer cults hunting their family, and turn into something that gets scary when they panic. Yep. Completely unoriginal, if I do say so myself.Move along. Nothing to see here. Nope. I’m just an ordinary girl.I wish people would believe that.I’ve been labeled as one thing or … labeled as one thing or another for most of my life:
Death Girl.
Crazy Gypsy Girl.
Gothic Chick.
Monster…
It took my mother’s death for me to finally start getting answers about what’s really been going on. Unfortunately, most of the answers come from men…who aren’t just men. Somehow, I’ve gone and landed myself in a world truly filled with monsters, and I’m starting to think this is where I should have been all along.
Only…I don’t understand what’s going on. I’m walking into the middle of a story that’s thousands of years old, and I’m the new girl on the block who doesn’t have a clue how this world even works. My only guides happen to be the most lethal of the bunch.
They decide who lives or dies. They decide who gets stabbed or tortured.
Yeah…
I’ve gone and drawn attention to myself, and the ones paying attention are the ones everyone else seems to fear.
How do these things always happen to me?

Amazing book to begin this series. Kristy does a fantastic job of character and environment development. The storyline keeps you wanting more. I found myself laughing out loud a lot while reading this book.
I recommend this book/series!
*** I have Kindle Unlimited, and I used that service to read this book. ***
What a fun ride Gypsy Blood turned out to be. The story whizzes along at a cracking pace, but keeps you totally gripped until the end. There are a fantastic bunch of characters filling the pages, packed with smart, witty dialogue. The guys are a bumbling hoot, tough alphas soon stripped bare by a little gypsy bearing alluring gifts none of them cam resist. The ghost definitely gets most of the laughs. This is a well thought out and executed story with plenty of mystery that promises to get deeper. Even better, book 2 is out.
Another great series! Waiting on the next book to give a final review, but so far, so GOOD!! Worth the read and time to get invested in these characters. =)
If you like Monsters then give this book a go! I promise once you meet Anna you will not want to put the book down!!
Wow. I was under the impression that this was a romance series, but there’s actually no smex in this book. While there probably is further into the series, I was pleasantly surprised to find a funny, rather detailed world and plot revolving around a gypsy girl, a horny ghost, and four alpha males practically tripping over themselves to get her attention. I am very excited to continue reading this series.
Cliffie, folks. Slowburn. Funny!
Great start to a unique series! I love the characters, the twists, the comedy, and the storyline.
The characters come from some of my favorite stories/movies!
I was not prepared for what I just read! Oh my gah!!! Never read anything unlike this book and it’s only the start of what I’m sure is going to be a fantastic and fun time. I picked up these books after reading the author’s pen name of the Mindf*ck series by S.T. Abby and became obsessed. I am so happy that she decided to make these books available to readers once again.
Gypsy Blood is the start of what is to become a paranormal romance and reverse harem series. This world is filled with monsters and our main heroine is of gypsy blood with so many special gifts. Violet has an alluring quality that not most people – uhmm monsters don’t seem to get. The death of her mother has her looking for answers about her bloodline. Only she’s walked into a battle between monsters that leaves her in danger.
This book was so entertaining from beginning to end. From the super hot alphas to the hilariously funny ghost friend..I could not stop laughing my butt off. I downloaded the audio to read alongside my paperbook and was highly satisfied with the narrators. Melissa Moran and Shaun Grindell did a fantastic job mastering these characters! I highly recommend listening to these books!!!
What can I say? Other than this was sinfully mischievous in a manner that you can feel the sensual suspense in the air reverberating and it was wonderfully illustrated.
From the start, it’s been hilariously funny due to Violet pet Ghost Anna, palm on heart, I goddamn loved her; she appears in the finest situations where she is utterly, insanely, inappropriate and irreversibly dam right mind-losingly-entertaining, I struggled, usually hard to hold a straight face and not snicker out loud more times than ever have in a book.
The book has a lot of old mysteries, twists, turns and of course curse, four extremely alpha-sexy-unpredictable men, they play the part well and have great personalities, strangely they’re drawn to the Gypsy freak; Violet seems Fragile, Innocent and completely out of the loop, but, from the way her mother showed her growing up, she know more than we truly can except, and has secret I can wait to find out- I have a feeling the best is still yet to come.
From personal experience, you’re going to go crazy on occasion, but guess what? you’re going to love every second of it, especially at the end, I didn’t see it coming, yet loved it never the less; It’s one of the best starts to a book series I’ve read in a long time, very excited for book two.
A bloody read!
She’s walking into the middle of a story that’s thousands of years old, and she’s the new girl on the block who doesn’t have a clue how this world even works…
Her only guides happen to be the most lethal of the bunch…
An original and very interesting storyline with some very deviant monsters and characters. The busts of humour makes this novel whole. The heroine, I must say, is my absolute favourite.
Highly recommend this book/series!
Full of monsters, gypsies, secrets, death, ghosts, humour and a hint of romance.
Perfect for readers of paranormal romances.
Kristy Cunning has kicked off this series with a bang. The story revolves around Violet, a mystery, and some handsome paranormal men who just cannot seem to leave Violet alone. The push and pull, comedic situations and steamy scenes make you laugh while ignoring all other activities while you read. I absolutely adored Anna. In true series fashion, the story is left hanging, but never fear – the next book is already available.
This was a great paranormal read with great characters that will have you both frustrated and smiling at their antics. Anna is a whole case by herself but she will have you laughing out loud. Her character definitely brings the funniness and lightness to the story. You will love Violet, Vance, Damien and Emit for all of the right reasons. They will capture your heart and have you rooting for all of them for reasons beyond what’s known. Violet has a lot to learn but she’s learning slowly and mistakes are bound to be made. The boys fight and fuss like brothers and they were an enjoyment to read. I absolutely love the “games” they play on each other and when they fight they destroy. I figured out who Ace was from the very beginning. I’m nervous to see what his character will do. This is my first book from this author and it was a great read. I’m looking forward to reading the second book and yes ladies and gents, this one ends with a cliffhanger.
I really enjoyed this book and I’m kicking myself for waiting so long to start this series. I love how strong Violet is even though so is naive. The men are beyond hot and intriguing and the plot twist towards the end absolutely stunned me. With that cliffhanger I will be starting the new book as soon as possible.
So it begins!!! I knew I would not be disappointed! The start to what I can only assume will be a memorable series! I love all the uncertainty, cryptic messages, angst and sexiness! Each character is unique and the storyline crazy as usual! Love it! Bring on part 2!
I loved this book! I didn’t particularly love the main character, Violet, but Anna?! OMG! Most amazing sidekick ever, I want her as my own pet ghost! Snarky, sassy, crazy… she’s the star of the show with her hilarious over-the-top attitude.
And as for the four hot alphas? These monsters are exactly the way I love them – dark and dangerous, wrapped up in a pretty package. Each one stands apart with their own distinct character voices and stories, I can’t wait to dive deeper into their worlds. The frienemy banter and relationship dynamics between them was really well done.
Lot of dialogue and not much description, but I actually enjoyed that here. The story flowed effortlessly. There’s snark, humour, intrigue, magic, vampires, werewolves, ghosts, slow burn… and a fantastic twist near the end that had me loving a certain character even more.
What A Great Start To This Series!!
Gypsy Blood (All The Pretty Monsters Book 1)
I’ve had this book sat on my Kindle, unread, since it’s release. I’ve bought each one on release day, but I’ve been waiting for the series to be completed so I could read it all in one go – one after another – and so far I’m in love with its twisty tale!!
The world building & character development is spot on. It reminds me of my all time favourite series by C.M Owens, Deadly Beauties Live On, in that respect! The storyline is clever, witty, twisted & completely gripping. The pretty monster’s have so much more to tell & I can’t wait!!

Absolutely loving this slow burn reverse harem series! There is humor, suspense, mystery, drama, hot as hell sexy alpha males (I am all over Vance and Arion!), and sexy times. In haled these these books.
Great start, very funny!
Gypsy Blood (All the Pretty Monsters Book 1) by Kristy Cunning is a funny and clever book with all kinds of creatures living in one area. One gypsy comes to town to take over her mom’s business after her mom is murdered. Many monsters want her dead but no one will tell her why. Lots of action and hilarious fun along the way. She is saddled with a horny ghost too! Pure hilarity!
There is a bit of violence in this, but no between the sheets stuff.
Violet the the main female character and the gypsy. Violet has secrets she doesn’t want known. Violet has many questions and knows the 3 men to ask, but they don’t share secrets well. When Violet starts talking to Ace, she thinks she can finally get answers, but nothing is free.
I’m interested to find out what Violet. does when in a panic. Violet has an interesting story, but Anna makes the thing worth reading. There are so many laugh out loud parts in this book! I like that the laughs cut the seriousness of some of the situations. This has a cliffhanger, so be ready for that “wth” ending.
Firstly i wish i could give this more than 5 * as it deserves more , secondly this is one of those books that you can’t put down once you start , you don’t notice anything until you finish it. Violet has come to town because her mother has died , she needs to see to the funeral & keep her mums shop going only life’s never that simple . For a start she is constantly talking to a ghost called Anna & she doesn’t realise that most of her customers are supernatural & are all carrying a curse her family placed on them all , oh & did i say she gets tricked into raising a seriously crazy vampire by another ghost she talks to & has slightly fallen in love with . I can’t wait for next in series .
I fell into this series a little late. I’d originally read this author’s The Dark Side series and found it to be hilarious and entertaining. Then, when this series came out, there were so many good things said about it, I knew that I wanted to read it but just didn’t get a chance to straight away. I didn’t get a chance to start it until book 2 had been released, and not long before book 3 was released. So, basically, I binged all three.
The fantastic thing about this series, so far, is the release schedule that’s been rumoured – a new book every three weeks. So, it’s a wait between books, but not super long and definitely manageable. Understandably, life happens for authors, too, and that may not carry on, but I think this author has found a really good balance with this series between not releasing until the series is completed but also having to wait between books. I’m all for an author creating a backlog of books, and then releasing them in fairly quick succession. That said, I know it can be hard to do, and it really feels like the author is keeping the fan base in mind with this release schedule.
Now, as for the book itself, this book is fantastic. It mixes a lot of ideas here – traditional monsters (werewolves, vampires, sirens, shapeshifters), gypsy culture, modern day life, classic literature. Don’t get me wrong – I am not saying this book is “real” gypsy culture; even the author says that she has taken creative liberties for the sake of the book and plot. I think what so many people find intriguing and interesting about gypsy culture is that it is secretive in so many ways, and it does leave room for creative license, like in this case. It leaves room for the author to be able to blend these ideas together seamlessly. A lot goes on in this book. It’s really fast-paced, but you never feel like you’re missing something or that something hasn’t been explained properly, at least not something that’s meant to be vague (like when other characters try to keep the main character in the dark). The way in which any vagueness is done is in a manner that creates empathy with the main character – you feel lost because she feels lost, not because something has been omitted. And with the pace of the book, there are also some twists and turns you don’t necessarily see coming. With the characters, you feel for Violet, but I feel like there’s not much I can say without giving bits away. As far as the guys are concerned, who doesn’t love a broody, hot monster with a complex background story? The story doesn’t technically end on a cliffhanger. I don’t think. It’s hard, because the story is complete. But it doesn’t end much past the climax, and it really doesn’t feel like there’s much in the way of resolution. It ends in such a way that any invested reader will automatically go onto book 2 – do not pass Go, do not collect $200; just straight there (save yourself some time, download all of them when you get book 1). It’s that good. What’s more, it’s a good length. Nearly 300 pages, this is a book that you can get your teeth into. Sometimes, with books that are on a quick release schedule, you can feel like they’re serials; there’s not time to write full length novels between deadlines. Personally, I’m not a fan of serials, because they tend to be more like short stories or novellas, and I prefer full-length novels. I want something that’s going to take more than an hour to read; I want escapism. This is not like that, at all. This is escapism at it’s finest, in the form of entertaining characters, captivating plot, and fantastic world-building. When I finished this one, it was straight onto book 2 for me, no doubts.
