Only for the reckless at heart ~“Happy is the Gypsy girl with feet dirty from dancing and a heart reckless from romancing.”Rapscallion Irish Traveller, Romy Sonnenschein, may bamboozle the gullible with her fortune telling and other tricks of the trade, but she doesn’t really believe in card reading, fortune telling, palmistry and fated events like destined soul mates and such bloody rot.In … bloody rot.
In addition, she is having monumental trouble with a handsome but slick, silver-tongued attorney and a no-quarter-given Texas saddle tramp. Both she has flim-flammed with her supposed matchmaking skills and more. And both would do whatever it takes to rid themselves of this capricious thorn who has burrowed beneath their skins ~ or, conversely, give their lives to keep her.

Lot of twist & turns
Enjoyed the historical setting for the story.
I couldn’t put this story down. Our heroine was a survivor and she was destined to fall in love with another survivor. Her belief/ non-belief in her ability to “read” the cards kept the pot stirred until the very end.
This wasn’t my kind of book.
I was upset when I realized we were going into the pre war 1930s, but enjoyed the information presented and the characters and manner in which they handled their various circumstances.
Interesting view of Nazi monster. Gypsys!
