A shadowy interdimensional organization. A special assignment. A bizarre alternate universe. When a recruitment agent from the Interdimensional Bureau of Temporal Investigations knocked on his door, there was no way Alfred Favero, Senior Analyst with the Internal Revenue Service, could just walk away. How could a man of law and conscience turn down the chance to stop crime across dimensions and … dimensions and times?
Now, he’s in bizarre alternate dimension, where suspicion is fact and fact is suspect. To succeed, he must question everything he thinks he knows about this new world – and even the mission itself.
Otherwise, Alfred Favero might have taken his last trip through time.

“Playing with time, there’s always the possibility for devastating consequences.” Winthrop shook his head. “But you handled yourselves like pros. You’ve got this, Nancy. You both do.”
An obvious takeoff on the satire Gulliver’s Travels by Johnathan Swift, [which in itself was written as a comment of the British Parliament] Alfred and Nancy are with the tax service and their discovery and subsequent use of a time machine opens up a whole galaxy of trouble. Should they save a planet of “humanoids”? Can they do it without changing “the timeline”? Did someone give them the right “paperwork”? Can Alfred actually declare his intentions for Nancy?
Is this a book worth reading? That one I can answer without hesitation. Highly recommended 5/5

Does Gulliver Travels bring up any memories? Read this novel and you will get some of the twists that go back to the original. Lol! All in all, this is a very good novel that I think all will enjoy.

Oh, how I loved this book! Alfred is one of my favorite characters ever, and everything about him amuses me to no end. This cleverly written story is full of twists, turns, wry observations, wonderful characters, etc., etc. Everyone who enjoys offbeat humor, witty authors, quirky tax agents, capable women, time travel, puns, and happy endings ought to love this series and Gullible’s Travels & Taxing Rabble. I can’t wait to see what Rachel Ford writes next.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
This is the third TTT book I have read. The formula is mostly the same, but still entertaining. Our heroes travel in time and space, face frustration and danger, figure out a way to save the day at the last minute and POOF…Bob’s your uncle.
There was a nice twist in this one that I will not spoil.
Great literature, this is not. A fun, clean, entertaining read…yup.
Our time traveling duo has drawn the attention of an intergalactic time travel agency. But is it the kind of attention they want?
This is book six in our time traveling taxman series. Each book (including this one) does just fine as a standalone. You might not get some of the character relationships, and there will be one or two references that you miss, but none of that will blunt your enjoyment of this story. So read them as you will.
This is a soft science fiction story, more interested in the situations and the characters than in the physics of time travel, but that is just fine by this reader. The story is very well written, with a plot that is both easy to follow and hard to anticipate. The story does an excellent job of presenting the situation and letting our characters face it head on. Speaking of characters, they too are well developed and have very distinct personalities which shine through in how they face each issue. The story also has plenty of humor as well, usually the very dry wit of our hero. Overall, this is yet another highly enjoyable story in the series.
Highly recommended.

This is the 6th book in the series. I think this series is a bit of fun! This series has a clever concept in all of the books and is written well. Overall a great read that I recommend.

A family-friendly stand-alone which begs one to read the earlier books, it involves two time-traveling tax agents and can be polished off in a long afternoon.

A spin on Gulliver’s Travels plus a proposal of marriage – 3 stars
Sillier than other stories in the series, this one is a takeoff on Jonathan Swift’s Gulliver’s Travels. There is a different time machine for this book that is not controlled by Alfred Favero or Nancy Abbot.
Although written in plainer English than Gulliver (1726), Gullible (2019)seemed slow and had more discussions about clothes and fake science with a kiss or a hand hold here and there when action was really slow. Alfred actually proposes in this story.
One of the key plot element was that islands can fly by using a “time crystal” to levitate.
Rather than kill or swear, out hero and heroine managed to avoid harming anyone while violence was being liberally dished out.
The plot was a little too deep for a pre-schooler; a high schooler might enjoy this rather than Gulliver.
The genre seems to have changed to steam punk at least for this title in the travelling taxman series.
*** SPOILER ALERT ****
Ford takes us on another wild and humorous ride with Alfred and Nancy facing a few life altering, for them, questions. Will they join the IBTI? Will Alfred find time to “pop the question” to Nancy? Will she say yes? Want to find out the answers? Well, pick up this book and find out!
Ford does a great job of re-purposing portions of Swift’s tall tale in an entertaining way. Even those that haven’t read “Gulliver’s Travels” will enjoy “Gullible’s Travels And Taxing Rabble” humorous spin on the original. I am eagerly awaiting the next installment in this series.
