5 star Review Guilty Sin (ALFA Private Investigations #4) by Chelle Bliss
Having read the novella, Top Bottom Switch which was about Ret and Alese, I was so excited to hear that they were going to be in another book. Guilty Sin is a menage with Nya Halstead added into the mix and I just knew we were in for a book that was HOT HOT HOT!!!
Ret and Alese are perfectly matched, their chemistry scorching and my only concern with this book was the introduction of Nya, however I shouldn’t have worried.
After rescuing Nya, Ret takes pity on her and offers their house as a sanctuary whilst Nya recovers from her ordeal.
The relationship that develops between Ret, Alese and Nya is special, it is emotional and intense; their love is beautiful to read about.
The storyline was believable and extremely well written; Ret, Alese and Nya were characters that I could easily relate to and I thoroughly enjoyed their story. The heat and emotions are intense and don’t be surprised if you get burnt as you read.
There was danger, romance, amazing chemistry, spine tingling hot sex and humour that had me in tears on occasion. This is a sexy, extremely hot and downright dirty book that I could not put down and I cannot wait for the next release from Ms. Bliss.
It was also great to see some very familiar faces making an appearance and of course Bear who is Ret’s father made me laugh.
After finishing the book and reading Ms. Bliss’s letter and the deleted scenes I have to say I am so glad she didn’t go with her original story line.
Guilty Sin is a fantastic addition to one of my favourite series. One click now, you won’t be disappointed.
I love Chelle Bliss!!! Her books are full of smexy men, sassy women, and (especially in this series) lots of action. This has got to be my favorite in this series!!! Although I was a little worried there for a bit. I was really excited to learn Ret was getting his own book, and that we would get to learn more about his relationship with Alese. And the direction this book went was absolutely perfect. I am a huge fan of Ms. Bliss’ Men of Inked series and didn’t think she could write something that I would love as much but this series is quickly catching up in my affections!!! Thank you Chelle Bliss, for writing this book the way you did and not the way you could have!!!
Guilty Sin is Ret’s story, Bear’s son, and while it stays true to what readers have come to expect from Chelle Bliss’ ALFA Investigations series, the suspense, mystery, and drama, the main focus of the storyline seems to be the interesting dynamic that Bliss brings into Ret’s Dom/sub relationship with Alese – one that, in my opinion, readers will either accept or find a bit disconcerting.
There was never a doubt that Chelle Bliss would bring the heat and with an extra person in the mix, Bliss definitely wrote some sinfully decadent scenes – ones that showcase this new arrangement and how the threesome learns to connect both physically and emotionally.
I’ll admit that through a lot of the story, I really didn’t know how to feel about Nyla’s role in Ret and Alese’s relationship. It’s not that Chelle Bliss doesn’t offer a series of explanations and several insights into how the sexual attraction amongst the threesome developed into so much more than just a physical connection. It might be because I haven’t read many romances with this kind of menage, but I think what it comes down to is the fact that Ret and Alese’s commitment was already established, so adding someone else into the mix with the ease in which it seemed to occur took me some time to understand and accept.
I’ve been a reader of Chelle Bliss since her first book released, and throughout this time, I’ve witnessed her growth as a writer and the way she crafts each story with its own unique grit, wit, and steam. Izzy Gallo is by far one of my absolute favorite heroines. Some parts of Guilty Sin’s storyline reminded me of what went down with Izzy, which isn’t necessarily an issue but Izzy in a class all on her own, so I didn’t want another one of Bliss’ characters to take on that role.
Overall, I enjoyed Guilty Sin. I found it interesting to read Bliss’ remarks about how the direction of the story drastically changed due to one of her Beta readers. Through the author’s honesty, I understood why she crafted the plot line the way she did, but I do have to say that I would have liked to have read the path the story didn’t take…I feel like it would have added even more of an emotional aspect to the plot and it quite possibly would have allowed the ending to not seem so rushed.
3.5 Poison Apples
Guilty Sin was a hard book for me as I sometimes struggle with the sharing factor in a ménage but it works well with the storyline of this book. The character that set me at ease was Alese, I loved this girl, she was kind hearted, strong spirited and embraced a love that made things even stronger (if that was possible) between her and Ret. The fourth book in the Alfa Investigations series was more than just being about a ménage, it was full of suspense, drama, falling in love all over again and at times it was nothing short of heart-wrenching. Ret, Alese and Nya show us that love cannot always be confined to what we perceive as the traditional couple. Their story will intoxicate you, have you feeling anxious but it will also enliven and inspire you. I know for most of us who read romance we always leave the book with a new book boyfriend, but I have to say, I am sorry Ret, because I left this book hugely in love with Alese. Just a warning ladies, Chelle Bliss got her dirty on with this story.
Chelle Bliss wrote the hell out of this story that simply put has so much damn heart it’s hard to know how it could possibly all fit in to one book. It really and truly at its core is just an amazing love story that it doesn’t remotely matter that it is between 3 people. Ret, Alyse and Nya will have you falling in love and swooning with everything about each of them individually and collectively. I also loved being able to get some time with some of my fave ALFA men and women, always good for laughs and sexiness!
The chemistry and passion that Ret & Alyse already had so seamlessly and gorgeously enveloped Nya that you can’t help but feeling this is how it was supposed to be for them. They make it work. They are love. They are passion. They are beautiful together.
Gosh this is one intense story. It starts with suspense and a rescue. A submissive who has been held captive and abused by her Dom, she is scared, timid and very nervous, but trusts the sensitive guy who rescues her. I found myself gripped, often smiling. It has its extremely hot moments but also some very loving and sensitive ones as the characters learn about each other, find trust and love. How everyone around them supports and accepts almost as if it was envitable. The twists especially one had me on edge, worried and with my fingers crossed. The author did a really great job doing justice to her characters and making this work in the best way possible for them. I loved it. Started 12/9/21 Finished 12/9/21
Nice story.
3.75 stars
I love this author’s writing and her characters, and I’m also crazy about this series.
This book follows a different path than the previous ones (kind of), but it was also enjoyable.
Ret, Alese and Nya’s story was really nice and sexy to read, and after reading Ret and Alese in Top Bottom Switch, I liked them both even more.
And Bear was extra adorable in this book – That’s right, I used adorable to describe Bear. Go figure.
Anyway, I really liked this book.
Chelle Bliss has done it again…these super steamy alphas and the strong women that love them are amazing…love how many of her books connect story lines…highly recommend this book and the rest of the series
I enjoyed reading this! I love how Ret saves Nya abut stays loyal to Alese even though he is developing feels toward Nya. It seems that all 3 are developing feelings between them . I have read some menage books and this one is tame compared to them but it is still a good story.
Ever since finding Joey Gallo, in Throttle Me, free on Amazon I have been a massive Chelle Bliss fan. Her work is a wonderful mix of sexy yet emotional and her men are hot enough to melt your panties. Whilst Guilty Sin is the 4th book in the ALFA Investigations series, the hero Ret hasn’t got a huge backstory in those books and this can be read as a stand alone. However once you get to know the guys of ALFA PI you’ll want to read their stories anyway! Ret and Alese appear in a separate stand-alone novel by Ms Bliss , it’s on my kindle but I haven’t actually read it as yet, but it didn’t affect my enjoyment of, nor ability to follow, this book.
If you’ve read any of the authors work you’ll know why I wanted to read Guilty Sin, if you haven’t read anything of hers then after you’ve read this (and you most certainly do want to read this) I’d suggest making Throttle Me your next stop. And then read all the rest of her books.
I knew I’d get a book with strong characters, who are well written and who you can’t help but love. I knew I’d get a hot read, with plenty of action both in and out of the bedroom, a damn good plot and excellent writing. I got all that and more. I know the author was worried that this book might push her readers boundaries a little but her inspired writing always delivers an amazing and captivating story.
Ret and Alese are happy, they are so very happy. Theirs is less than common relationship, very much equals in life, but in the bedroom they enjoy a D/s dynamic. Out on one job, Ret is diverted to help rescue Nya from the clutches of a man she though was her Dom, but who turned out to be an abuser. However once free of Diego, Nya’s freedom is threatened by those who should be her very sanctuary. As a result Ret and Alese offer her sanctuary in their home.
The book is written from dual perspectives of two of the main characters, yet I still felt I really got to know other important characters in this book too. I really liked Ret, Alese and Nya, all well written and believable characters, and so strong in their own ways . They felt so real, like people you would want as friends. The interactions between them were wonderful and felt incredibly natural. Once I started reading the book I didn’t want to put it down. I’d actually been in a rut of bad reads and had even started to wonder if it was me. Five minutes with this book and I knew I’d just made some bad choices with those other ones. This had me spellbound from start to finish.
At the end of the book the author lets us know that due to one of her beta readers the book totally changed direction part way through. I’m thankful that this reader was listened to, whilst we would have still had an amazing book, (a) the original felt a bit like an ‘easy out’ situation and (b) I loved the bravery of this book (and the characters too much).
If you’re new to Chelle Bliss books then do be aware that they contain hot sex scenes and strong language. As long as those two things don’t offend you then this is a book I’m happy to recommend.
ps just had to share this quote from Fran because that woman rocks
“And never let anyone make you feel less than you are because they have a stick rammed so far up there ass the damn thing scrambles their brain when they walk.”
3 ½ Stars …
I love Chelle Blisss’ books, she writes her men ALPHA but soft on the insides to the woman they love, her females are full of Sass and know how to “man handle” their guys. Her sex scenes are as steamy as they come.
I couldn’t wait to dive into this book and learn more about Bear’s son Ret. He lives what his sister Janice calls “an alternate life style”, he is a Dom and Alyse is his Sub. They have an amazing love that is so unconditional and filled with so much respect for each other. Ret will be the 1st to mumble to himself that he maybe the Dom but Alyse is the one in control, she even knows how to make him do what she wants in the bedroom making it seem like he’s punishing her.
Nya’s gone missing about 2 months ago, and parents hire ALFA Investigations to find her. Ret gets assigned to the case mainly because Nya also lives the BDSM lifestyle. After rescuing her from a sadistic Dom, she moves into he & Alyse’s spare bedroom.
Over time they become a threesome. Nya is skittish at first based on her previous experience, but both Ret & Alyse shower her with love and affection, always asking what she wants.
There’s a few things that I wished the author did differently.
I think them becoming a threesome, was a bit too rushed. Ret & Alyse had the perfect relationship, they didn’t feel like they were missing anything, so adding a 3rd person the mix seemed unnecessary. I think if there was more of the buildup to her joining them it would’ve fit their relationship better.
The author chose to go down a different path with the storyline, then she had intended based on feedback she got from a Beta reader. 99% of the time I want a HEA, but in this situation, I think the story would’ve been much more emotional had the author stayed with her original storyline. And I think she that would’ve also made Nya and Ret being together seem to fit more. I’m glad she gave us the deleted chapters at the end of the book.
Ret, Alese, and Nye have proven three’s company too. Get ready for quite the lovely addition to Ret and Alese with Nye. She does nothing but add to the pair in all the perfect ways. A lot can be said for a menage done well and this here was done exceeding so! Get ready to fall in love thrice over.
I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book.
OMFG, I can’t believe Chelle wrote this amazing and hands down the best story ever. The hottness and I do mean hottness that needs it’s own warning label all on it’s own. I mean hot damn can this woman write sex. I was head over heels in love with this story from page 1 till page whatever. I loved it all. The only thing that wasn’t for me was the threesome some of it I got I understood in fact what they were doing but then other parts I just couldn’t get my mind to wrap around, besides all that this story isn’t what it’s all about anyways its more then that its love, lust, loyalty and trust most importantly trust. I was hooked to say the least and couldn’t get enough when it ended I was sad but then again my emotions where all over the place by the time I finished it anyways so whose to say. lol. anyways this is one of Chelle’s stories that you don’t want to miss you want to grab a hold and read and read till you can’t take it anymore and then read it some more. MUST READ!!!
***I received this arc in exchange for my honest thoughts, I was in no way told what to write. this is all me, myself and I***
Guilty sin by Chelle Bliss is un-fu%&ing-believable it is so freaking hot I had to fan myself several times while I was reading. This is by far my favorite book that Chelle Bliss wrote (Sorry Bear, your son won this one).
When the private investigator from Alpha Pi rescues a woman who was being held against her will from her master, things turn in the direction you do not see coming.
Ret ends up taking Nya to his and Alese’s home since Nya had no where to go after her rescue. Alese opens her home and heart to Nya, they build a friendship that steers in the direction where things gets stirred up between the 3 of them. During this time Nya is trying to find her old self again and get back what was stolen from her by her last dom.
Does Nya find her old self again, does she find what she was always looking for, which was love during this time of healing?
This story has Love, Romance, Suspense and a lot of Hot ass sex. You can learn something from this story, love is blind and your heart can love more than one person. I enjoyed reading this story from start to finish, there were a few times I had to walk away from the story because it was so hot I had to cool myself off. I truly think Chelle outdid herself with Guilty Sin, I Floved it!!!
Well…*fans self*… I can confirm that this is the HOTTEST book Chelle Bliss has written. And in all the different romance tropes out there, she was the one to pop my cherry with a threesome story line involving two females. :-D. I’ve been all about the two guy fantasy, but she did a great job keeping me in their steamy moments.
Ret, Alese and Nya formed a wonderful friendship that quickly evolved into a much deeper bond. Both women were strong in their own right, with Ret being their overall protector.
This was book quite sexy, a bit funny at times and had a dash of suspense sprinkled on top.
I don’t mind ménage and I love Ret, but I was disappointed in the lack of intensity to the story. Ret and Alese are great. Even Nya is great but I felt her story needed more development. And between the three of them I wanted more organic versus planned encounters between them.
I’m glad with the capture of Mathias and Diego but thought both scenarios were rushed.
The ending was perfect. True Ret intensity and passion.
Wow! In a society where anything against the norm is looked down on Chelle Bliss has written a book about a threesome with a Happily Ever After. I loved her characters, Ret, Analyse, and Nya. I wish they were real, I would like to be friends with them.
In the book I bought, Ms. Bliss tells us that she had a different ending planned but a friend helped her see her error. Her original ending would have been bitter sweet and sad. But the ending she finally came up with was great. Her three main characters are a family. Who says three consented adults can’t be committed to each other?
I feel society needs to get off their high horse and just learn to accept different types of family units.
I’m looking forward to Ms. Bliss’ next book.
I’m hoping Ms. Bliss might write a story about Bear’s daughter finding love.
I like HEA stories.
A Loyal Chelle Bliss fan, jrs.
Someone get me some ice to cool me off! This book is Hot! Hot! Hot! I was absolutely thrilled to revisit some of these characters and a bit apprehensive at the same time. Chelle didn’t disappoint, at all! The story flows well and some loose ends get tied up. And there is….well, I’m not going to spoil that surprise, or shall I say, the ‘she didn’t just freaking do what I think she just did’ scene. And btw, I loved to extra deleted chapters at the end. Guilty Sin is a definite must read!
Rescuing a damsel from horrid conditions, and bringing her into your home with your partners approval. This is what Ret did for Nya. Ret and his partner Alese showed Nya that there is nothing wrong with her sexual desires. A bond occurs between them, which as the story unfolds becomes more.
I can honestly say that I started this book and couldn’t connect. I actually put it down for 5-days before I picked it up again. I wasn’t sure if I could read on. However, I was pleasantly surprised with how Chelle moved forward with building the relationship between these individuals.
I volunteered to review an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Relationships that build
Such a well written story! A relationship that starts out with just caring for a person but which develops into much more. My first ALFA book, but I’m definitely going to read the others. I love how the author develops the relationships between the three main characters…two on two but then ultimately all three together. Very well written. And very hot! lol
