Amazing !!! I can’t wait to read more A.K.Michaels <3
We met Jaxon and quite a few of the other dragons in a previous story by this author.
Jaxon keeps having the same dream repeatedly of a woman running holding something in her arms.
He knows she is important but for the life of him, he has no idea why?
Sidra is being chased by demons that need to capture her for their boss who is one seriously deranged wizard.
This author never ceases to amaze me with her books. She now has delved into the dragon shifter world and I can say honesty its one hot book.
We get action, suspense, and a lot of romance.
A intense storyline that reals you in right from the first page. I liked the fact that the dragons were protectors and had quite a tight knit community. Each character was interesting and had some great personalities. The dragons were intense and fierce but also loyal and caring. The interactions between them had me smiling and laughing even when they were being reprimanded. I am not sure of the time period as it seems to be futuristic due to the reactions of some of the characters on things like movies, e readers and some references to movie quotes. The storyline was well written, has a multitude of mythical creatures and a bad guy set on destruction. Jaxon was a strong warrior and quite the bad ass, it was great to see him stumble why trying to figure out his reactions to Sidra who is a surprise all on her own. The story is exciting, interesting, keeps your interest and leaves you wanting more. NO Cliffhanger, but you know there is more to come and you are eager to find out what happens next. Ms. Michael’s is a great story teller, she creates characters and worlds that allow you to enjoy her imagination and your own.
OMG I’ve found a fabulous new world of shifters to surrender my imagination to!!!!
Jaxon is the leader of the Guardians and with his motley collection of dragon shifters, he protects his enclave of shifters, witches and others from the world we first met in the Black Rose Chronicles. We meet him on his return from helping out Rose and Cassius in their defeat of Basilius. He’s bonewary and ready for a rest but when Zeeandra calls on him to protect a woman and bring her safety, he heads off into the unknown.
Sidra is hiding a secret. A big one..she is a very special kind of shifter and if THEY find her they’ll use her power for their own nefarious plans. She’s also protecting a bundle of joy whilst trying to evade capture. This girl is dead on her feet but she still manages to elude the Guardian! When they finally connect and she realises that Jaxon is there to help her, she just about collapses.
Will Skar, Amos and Aric, Sapphire and Terigan be able to protect Sidra’s secret and will they be able to defend the community from the evil hunting her? There are a great collection of secondary characters, especially the -make-you-laugh-out-loud Billy and Snake!!! There are characters that make you think hard about which side they are truly on. The tension ramps up at a phenomenal rate and the passion….well lets just say these dragon shifters know hot to set the bed ablaze!! Be warned there is Scots slang, you will end up using our insults without thinking.
We were first introduced to Jaxon in the last Black Rose Chronicles but it is not a required read but I highly recommend the series!! We get a background on Jaxon and his fellow dragons and I found the story interesting and a good start to a new series from Ava!! I definitely recommend this book because it has action, adventure and a little bit of love, I’m just sad I finished the book and I’m going to have to wait for the next one!! Old and new fans of Ava’s series will love this latest in a long line of fantastic books, so don’t wait any longer, go get it!!
Jaxon is returning from the battle to save the Black Rose and the human realm from Basilius the king of hell. This battle was not won with out losses and grave injuries to two of Jaxon’s Worrior dragons; Terigan and Allysa. Zeendra the Goddess has taken the two of them back with her to heal them, as Jaxon makes his way back to the Sanctuary to bring the news that the King of Hell has been defeated and that witches are no longer hunted but are safe to leave if they wish. Jaxon must first stop and take rest in the healing springs. Jaxon knew that everything was going to change since everyone knows about there existence, but the change is more than he can imagine. I don’t want to give to much away, but Jaxon finds his Destiny, but there is a new Evil that must be destroyed before they can find happiness and the community can be safe again. The other Surprise Jaxon get’s is when he is contacted by Zeendra telling him that he will be saying good bye to his second in command and best friend Tiregan, for she is sending him on a mission to Scotland and he will be gone for awhile. Jaxon is perplexed that the Goddess is Sending him instead of himself for Scotland his is homeland. Jaxon knows the Goddess has her reasons and respects her wishes and decision, but he will miss his friend who is more like a brother to him, his biggest hope for Terigan is that he may also find his Destiny. If you loved the Black Rose Chronicle’s or any of A K Michaels stories, you will not be disappointed with this new series.
Once again our friend Ava takes us on a wonderful ride through a world fit for our imaginations. In this book you learn about Dragons, witches, Angels, and you even get to meet a sassy beautiful Unicorn. Although the bad guys don’t seem to put up too much of a fight, but they sure try. Then I don’t think I would last long either on the other end of a dragons flame. Once again Ava will not disappoint you while you read about her Dragons.
Until Next Time… Tabi
Let me start by saying that not many books manage to surprise me like this one did. I have never seen a book with this particular type of character or pairing, making it unique to its genre and giving an interesting twist to its storyline. Although, I have since seen other authors suggesting this exact scenario as a storyline idea, so Well done A K Michaels for leading the way with refreshingly new ideas.
If you have read The Black Rose chronicles there will be some familiar characters mentioned in this book as this story starts where Battle and Betrayal finished, but if you haven’t yet read ‘Rose’ don’t worry, Jaxon’s Sanctuary is its own story with a well delivered plot and well thought out characters, each of the dragons introduced have totally different personalities with specific traits, which when all brought together enable them all to work well as a lethal team but also as a protective family and I loved each and every one for their individuality.
The biggest surprise (relief) for me tho, was, No Cliffhanger !
If you have read any other books by this author, you’ll know what I mean, so my question is ….. Who are you and what have you done with our cliffhanger queen ? Is she leading us into a false sense of security? I’m thinking we should probably be scared and I’ll cautiously be prodding the next book afraid of what may happen !
