A “Brother’s Best Friend” romance that has it all! Reed and Etta burn up the pages with all the tension, temptation, and just enough angst. Don’t miss out, grab yours now!Gucci:It was supposed to be one night. One night with no labels. No rules. One night, just her and me.Etta is the only girl I can’t get out of my head. She’s the only line I can’t cross. She’s my best friend’s sister, and that … cross. She’s my best friend’s sister, and that means: no-go. Full stop.
It was the end of a painful summer where I forced myself to pretend she didn’t exist. There was no point in torturing myself with what I could never have. I didn’t plan to spend the night drinking with her. Or burning all her ex-boyfriend’s stuff. Or kissing her…
The alcohol, fire, and wild look in her eyes was too much to turn away from. Booze has a way of sucking the oxygen out of your fears and feeding it to the parts of your heart you starve. I was starving for her.
Now, we’re supposed to go back to college and pretend it never happened. Like, she’s still just the girl I grew up with and not this addiction burning in my veins.
I don’t want to sneak around behind my best friend’s back. But, Etta is more than just his little sister.
And, I need so much more than one night.

Wow!! It’s another rocking best friend story that E. Cleveland brings in Gucci. It’s well written, intriguing characters and all the drama, excitement, angst, forbidden desires and temptation that will bring Reed (Gucci) and Etta to an all consuming happy ever after. It’s definitely a must read.
I received a free copy of this book via E. Cleveland and I am voluntarily leaving my review.
I must state that I “normally” don’t like Sports Romance and College Romance but I LOVED this book. I did not realize that it was the second book in a Series so I am proof that it can be read as a standalone. However, I will be going back and reading Player and I can’t wait to read Griz when it is released. Gucci/Reed (by the way, the reason he received his nickname is priceless!) has lived with his best friend Griz, his sister Etta and their parents since his father was put in prison and his mother had died. While Griz has almost been his best friend and “brother” Etta quickly transformed from the bratty little “sister” into the girl he wants but has been told is off limits. When Etta breaks up with her douche of a boyfriend, they spend what was considered a forbidden but wonderful night together but changes their lives forever. There is a wonderful storyline that brings you along for the ride as Etta and Reed try to navigate their “secret” romance all the while Reed wants to “come clean”. Please don’t miss this story just because you may have had the same feelings toward Sports or College romance’s as I did. You will be pleasantly surprised and will add these books (at least the ones by E. Cleveland) to your TBR list.
I was given this ARC in exchange for an honest and totally voluntary review.
Gucci is the second installment of the Warriors hockey team and is just as good as the first. It is a stand alone (with a HEA), but has characters from the first book so it helps to have read that one first. I really liked this book although there was a little bit of angst. My heart just has a hard time with angst – especially in the crazy world we are living in today. But as I said, this doesn’t have too much and I found the book to be a great escape. I truly care what happens to these players and can’t wait for the next book in the series.
Another fantastic five star book from Eddie Cleveland! Gucci is everything I expected and more! Reed has loved Etta for so long but was always thought of as a brother. Until that one night. Things change between them. This book has so much to offer. Friendship hockey, love and more. I look forward to reading more in this series. More from Eddie.
Such a great book and series for that matter. Reid and Etta are so fiesty together. One drunken night and all changes.
This best friend sister, forbidden fruit story was heart warming and Very much a learning curve for the characters, and some readers would find that too. I love Etta, she said it like it is even if she has been hurt and takes a special guy to see past the hurt and work his way into her heart.
Eddie Cleveland writes a dramatic, romantic story about patience and wanting. Very impressed!
This was an ARC and this is my honest review.
I received an Advance Reader Copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Gucci (Reed) has been raised by Aiden & Etta’s parents. Aiden is his best friend and he feels bad when him & Etta hook up. He really cares about her (always has) but when push comes to shove and he wants everyone to know, Etta chickens out and wants to keep him as her dirty little secret. Gucci is having none of that any longer, either she is all in or he is all out!! Couldn’t put this down. This book gives you really good feels. Gucci is one of the good ones. Eddie has outdone himself again!!
Gucci has always wanted Etta to be his but thought he couldn’t because he was fostered by his best friends parents and also Grizz had a rule no one on the Hockey team could date his little sister….. One night Etta and Gucci give in to their feelings….. Next morning Etta says something that Gucci misunderstands you will have to read the rest to find out what happens ….. I cant wait to read the next book about Grizz ……
This is the second book in Eddie Cleveland’s hockey series and I loved it. The characters are so much like real life that you just get pulled into the story. Etta and Reed have liked each other for awhile, but they feel awkward since they were raised together since Etta’s parents took Reed in after his dad was sent to prison. After one drunken night everything changes. I loved how the characters mature through out the story. A must read. I can’t wait for the next book.
Gucci and Etta. Etta and Reed. All the same people but at different places in the book, their characters are explored within those roles—and that is why this book is different from typical genre and why this book works.
We discover Gucci during the previous book, Player, as the hard partying manwhore who lives up to his reputation, dropping the reader with a single reference to his best friend’s sister. That is the tie-in. Gucci opens with the recognition that he is attracted to his bests friend/foster brother’s sister Etta, while in a quandary as to what to do about it. Should his loyalties lie with himself or his best friend? We quickly learn to trust him as a good and kind person, honestly caring for Etta yet singularly insecure because of his background. He wants to do right by his foster family yet wants to be true to himself.
This is the story of their discovery, whether he sees himself as Reed the man with scruples or Gucci the fun-loving friend. Etta, through all of this, needs to make a decision that she knows will infuriate her brother who sees his hockey friends as people not worthy of his sister. We watch Etta grow and establish herself as she makes life decisions that give her maturity and self-knowledge; all while appreciating all the ways Reed fits in her life. One line stands out from the book that really sums it up “We are all so damned scared of our own voices. We’re worried about what others will think…”
Different than the usual Brothers/Friends/College romance, the characters play along well with each other. Eddie Cleveland’s dialogue is snappy and quick, very much a “speaking” text vs. a more formal style. The reader quickly realizes that he wants you to be involved intimately with his story and keeps it in” jeans/sweatshirt put your feet up and read me during fake bathroom breaks” instead of more traditional modes. That’s what makes reading Eddie books fun, flirty and wanting more.
I have come to expect a certain standard when I read an Eddie Cleaveland novel. A solid plot, great characters that are believable and charismatic, and an ending that leaves me feeling something intensely. Lets just say he has done it again with this novel. Gucci is another brilliant story.
Etta is relatable. The sweet, relatively inexperienced little sister who falls for her big brothers best friend.
Gucci, otherwise known as Reed is Ettas brothers best friend and their foster brother. He was rescued from gping to foster care by Etta’s family when Reed’s family couldn’t care for him anymore. A little taboo in a few ways. Reed has had a thing for Etta almost as long as she has adored him. But hos best friend has always told his hockey friends to stay away from his sister and vice versa so he has stayed away. But the summer after her freshman year of college leaves them both feeling the fire of desire burning deep.
Can their clear chemistry turn into something more than a fiery glance, a sizzling touch, an icy shoulder when he trys to stay away from her? Does a one night stand turn into more. . .read all about Reed and Etta to find out!
This is the second stand alone book that Eddie Cleveland has written about a group of college hockey players. Reed, nicknamed Gucci, is grappling with the forbidden love of his best friend’s sister, Etta. You will not be able to put this book down as it is such a wonderfully told sweet, sexy, story of how the two of them are finally able to be together. I can’t wait for the next book about Etta’s brother and Reed’s best friend, Griz.
I have to say that finding out the origin of Gucci’s nickname made me spit out my water. BEST EVER! Passion, possession and pride are showcased in this sports romance.
I gave this book five stars because it was awesome. Reed and Etta were the perfect couple. I loved the dynamics between the two. I enjoyed everything about the book. Good job Eddie! Keep up the awesome work.
In the second book of the college hockey romance series, the author explores the implications of finding love with your best friend’s sister. The story opens with Reed AKA Gucci – struggling with the feelings he’s developed for his best friend Griz’s sister Etta.
Circumstances throw the two of them together one night. Feeling are discussed and acted upon with no rules or labels. They both believe that Griz will not be happy about a relationship between his sister and best friend.
The story follows Gucci and Etta as they finally give in and pursue their romance continually worried that their relationship will turn their loved ones against them. Their backstory – primarily Gucci’s – provides the reason for their beliefs. We also get a peek into Player and Kaylee’s relationship since the last book, as well as the rest of the Westbury Warriors.
The author, once again, has written a true to life story that pulls the reader in. Readers will root for this couple on their journey to the realization that no one person should have veto power over who you love.
I can’t wait to join Griz on his journey in the next installment!
I was so enthralled from the very beginning as the story unfolded between Gucci and Etta! The great storyline and wonderfully created characters kept me turning the pages until the very end!
Wonderful and Entertaining Story
This is an easy 7 STAR rating from me. The storyline is great. The characters are captivating. It was a one-sitting read for me. Once I started reading, I wanted to see how it ended. Even then I wasn’t done with the story.
The author tells the story with vivid descriptions and wonderful interactions between the characters. The book has everything a good story needs, a little laughter, a few tears, a bit of angst, a good dose of steam (thank goodness!), and a beautiful ending. It’s a great read!
Gucci is not about fashion! It’s a wonderful story with believable characters. The scenes are spot on. If I didn’t know better, I would say it is based on a real story. The sex scenes are hot but they are not the main focus. You get in to some books and sex is what it is all about but with Eddie’s book it is about the story. He describes things with the right adjectives. A truly terrific story!
Etta and Reed (AKA: Gucci) get their story told with periods of tension, drama and lots of loving. What a beautiful friend to lover’s story told by an incredibly talented author. Reed was basically adopted into Etta and Aiden’s family after he lost his mother and his father was sent to jail. Best friends with Aiden, they played hockey throughout school and into college. They all ended up at the same college and Aiden (Griz) always said no hockey player was good enough for his sister Ette. Hence tension and drama. The supporting characters were fun and entertaining, especially on Halloween night. We get to see where Player is with his love, Kaylee, and a bit how they developed plus we get a hint of what’s to come in the next story with Griz and Hattie. I received an arc and voluntarily left an honest review.
I loved reading Gucci’s story. I thought that Reed and Etta were a great couple! They meshed would well together. The sneaking around, the whole my brothers best friend, hockey players are bad news, alpha type vibe through the entire book made it a juicy read. I loved the HEA but also the struggle of them getting there. The sneaking around the deceit made it all worth wild. It was a great read that was well written. A book i would defiantly recommend.
“Gucci” meshes heart-touching emotions, drama, humor, camaraderie, suspense, fun times, terrific character interaction, and molten-passionate romance in a fast-paced, entertaining read.
Reed (AKA Gucci on their college hockey team) is head over heels in want for his best friend’s sister. Hockey players are off limits to Aiden’s sister because of their player image with the puck-bunnies. Going back to college is difficult for both Reed and Etta after their one night together. Etta is bright and wants to be a sport journalist. She aches to be with Gucci, to learn what they could be, but her brother’s rules stop her cold. They face a few hurdles before reaching their happy forever.
Fantastic storyline with praise worthy characters and great vivid scene descriptions. Backstories give the reader insight into the character’s personas. The chemistry between Etta and Reed beams in this story; loved them together. The author shows that sharing your genuine feelings is pivotal in all relationships.
