Former Navy SEAL Gage Winters is surprised to suddenly have custody of adorable twins after a childhood friend and his wife are killed. Adjusting to life as a new father is hard enough, but when the babies’ gorgeous aunt, Kylie Fredericks, shows up at his doorstep, determined to play a role in the babies’ lives, Gage can’t help but accept her help—at least for now. A loner by nature, Gage isn’t … isn’t completely happy about sharing his home, even if his new roommate is sexy, single, and a natural around babies. But he’s admittedly in way over his head and while he’s wary of Kylie, he can’t deny how nice it is to have her around. And not just for the babies.
Initially Kylie can’t see why her sister chose Gage as the twin’s guardian, but the longer she stays, the more she realizes that not only is Gage a good father, he’s also a good man. Not to mention pretty easy on the eyes. But Gage has one fatal flaw: he wants more children…and that’s something Kylie can never give him. Though they’re becoming a cozy family, Kylie has to remind herself that she and Gage have no future together.
When Kylie and the twins are attacked in a park, Gage’s protective instincts go into high gear. Keeping the babies and Kylie safe becomes his number one priority. Too bad he didn’t think about protecting his heart. With an unknown threat circling closer by the minute, Gage and Kylie will do whatever they can to keep the babies safe—even if it means risking their own lives and sacrificing the love their hearts are having an increasingly hard time denying.

Guarding his Unexpected Twins is the last book in the SEAL Endgame series. We meet Gage a former SEAL who has become the guardian of his friends Tucker and Christine twins. They were killed in an accident. Kylie is the twins’ aunt and was n Japan when the accident occurred. She is a bit of a free spirit who has a personality opposite of Gage and she has decided to see if Gage is fit to be a parent. She is also upset that she was not given custody. Throw in chemistry between the two of them, a mugging, a house broken into, and the mystery of why and you get a great story!
I loved the unexpected turns this story takes and the characters that experience the turns. Gage is bequeathed custody of his best friend’s twins, and their maternal aunt comes as soon as she hears of her sister and her husband’s deaths, initially planning on contesting custody. But Kylie and Gage connect, sharing looking after the children while Kylie gets back on her feet in the States after working in Japan for a brief period in her career as a feng shui consultant. And her career sets her up to be ignored initially by police when she is mugged while out with the twins, adding to the intrigue. This is a great read; Kylie and Gage are engaging and empathetic characters, and I recommend this read.

Emotional read…
“Sometimes the families you choose yourself are even better than the ones you’re born into. It’s the bonds that matter. The connections. Not the blood.”
In my opinion, that line from this emotional read sums it up perfectly. Both Gage and Kylie have issues in their past that have made them doubt not only their selves but their ability to raise the twins. Who is better suited to raise Brennan and Maya? Can Gage and Maya coexist for the sake of the twins? Will they give into their chemistry? Will an unexpected danger take their chances for a happy family away? I won’t tell you those answers but instead suggest you read this one for yourself.

Retired Navy SEAL Gage’s best friend Tucker and his wife Christine are killed in a car wreck and leave him with custody of their twins. Kylie. Christine’s sister shows up one month after the accident to see if the twins are being well taken care of by Gage. Kylie doesn’t have a place to stay swo Gage lets her stay with him at his home because he really could use the help with the children. Lots of chemistry between them from the start. This is a good suspense action book.

A standalone story, third in the series. Lots of drama and action with well developed characters. Single man bequeathed friend’s twins, their maternal aunt come together to protect and form a family.
Gage has retired from active service as a Navy SEAL and was given the task of raising his godchildren when his childhood friend and his wife die. He has no child-raising experience, but he is willing to take on the challenge and be the best dad he can be. Kylie Fredericks rushes home from a job overseas expecting to be given custody of the twins, only to find out that Gage has them. Her own insecurities about not being able to have children cause her to wonder if her sister thought her incapable of being a good mom. She holds off on seeking to contest his custody. Regardless, she was going to make sure her niece and nephew are safe and cared for properly by the SEAL.
Gage was not expecting to gain a new roommate, but he appreciated the help Kylie provided for the babies. As the two of them co-parent the children, they begin to trust the other. Again Kylie’s insecurities hold her back. Although she might want to take a chance on the man who has shown himself a good father and a good man, Gage wants additional children when he marries and that is the one thing she cannot provide him. Will she walk away? Will she give up on any dream of a commitment to him? Or should she explore further what he wants and see if they have any other choices? And when it looks like she may be in danger, will Gabe step up and keep them all safe?
This was a good story that led to the conclusion that relationship makes a true family, not just familial bloodlines. Love gives the stability. And communication is key! Will the two of them find out what a good team they are together raising the twins? Will that be enough for them? Grab your copy and see where it all leads.
Guarding His Unexpected Twins is the final book in Leslie North’s SEAL Endgame series and for me personally; it was the best.
I thoroughly enjoyed the plot and storyline of a retired Navy SEAL who becomes an instant father to infant twins. Dealing with the grief of losing his best friend and his wife, are placed on the backburner as the daily challenges of two all-consuming and fussy babies take front and centre in this hardened warrior’s world. But the arrival of the twin’s aunt may just put an even bigger spanner in the works, as Gage and Kylie navigate the constant tension of the unspoken “custody battle” and the rising attraction that simmers and burns each time they are in close proximity.
Tension, sassy banter, and an unknown danger are just some of the many elements that make this book a one-sitting read. I’m sure this will be a huge favourite among Ms North’s many readers.
This book will touch your soul.
This book is an example of why I love Leslie North writing. This is so well-written with such depth of the characters and the author has shown the emotions that they each feel. There is an added danger element in the story too. This is romantic suspense at it best Gage and Kylie both have issues but Kylie may be the hardest to deal with. I highly recommend this outstanding work. Great Job!! I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

A heartbreaking accident leaves a set of twins, Maya and Brennan with their designated guardian Gage not their mother’s sister Kylie. The tension is obvious as is their attraction but, neither Gage nor Kylie is willing to let their guard down and risk the twin’s safety and happiness. This is a slow building but engaging story of two people who are trying to do the right thing but, are completely clueless on how to proceed with the cards that they have been dealt. There is so much uncertainty and confusion in Gage and Kylie’s minds when it comes to raising Maya and Brennan that you want to let them know that much of child rearing is on the job training. It’s sweet and sad but, with Kylie’s safety at risk, emotions surface and decisions are made to not hold back any longer and see what life has to offer.

This is the third and final book in the SEAL Endgame series. This is Kylie and Gages story. This book can be read as a standalone. You won’t be lost if you read this book before the first two books.

High energy and stress! Not entirely clean, but the cleanest I’ve read from this author- no overt sex scenes. Very enjoyable mix of family, crime, and romance. Definitely a different progression than usual, but enjoyable. I just wish it was longer!

When his good friends dies in an accident, they leave their infant twins in the care of Gage, a retired SEAL. Kylie, the babies’ aunt, shows up in the middle of the night, intending to fight for custody. Once they settle down and stop lobbing insults and low blows, they realize that they make a amazing team working together. There’s some drama and suspense, as a result of Kylie’s last job in Japan, but even that works out. This was a great book to read, and a good close to the series. Best quote from the book: “Sometimes the families you choose yourself are even better than the ones you’re born into. It’s the bonds that matter. The connections. Not the blood.”

This was short, sweet, and sexy! Kylie and Gage started off on the wrong foot since Kylie didn’t know what kind of man he was and being granted custody of her niece and nephew made her even more wary. But the sparks and the attraction are undeniable and they can’t help but need each other. The SEAL protectiveness comes out when Kylie is in trouble and they can’t deny their connection anymore. The end was just the icing on the cake.
