Their puppet and prey–but I like to play–Hard.
And I don’t lose.
They picked the wrong guy. Their so-called ‘grunt’ would fight to get home and take revenge. I vowed to come back–for her–for Kaci. But everything changed.
My maniacal mind wrapped with a pretty mug, I am an unforgiving bastard, tough–tougher than they ever imagined.
And I will never – ever – break.

Always expect the unexpected when it comes to this author.
I highly recommend all of her books!
Sal Raniero is back! I patiently waited to get my hands on this book and it was so worth the wait. I recommend reading all of the Sal Raniero books because you will learn so much about him throughout all of them. This is an emotional, intense read with many twisted moments. This author definitely has an original writing style and what a gift that is. I absolutely love Sal Raniero his strength, his sexiness and his journey are unforgettable. I highly recommend all of this authors books.

“You’re soaring in the sky with meteors, Raniero.” –Dr. Jack Kerris
The thing I love about this series is we get to see a different Sal in every book. We get to experience his change with him.
He goes through so much in this book you can’t help but feel his pain. But through it all Sal proved he was as tough as they come.
“Motherfuckers think they have me by the balls, but what they don’t know is they are grabbing a bomb by the fuse. I am one tough bastard!”
Learning about his past with his family had me wishing I could somehow go back in time to make it better. We get a surprise visit from two characters that I was thrilled to see. I’ve been thirsty for knowledge on them and one shocked the crap out of me!! Definitely unexpected twist. I can never predict was is going to happen next. There are plots within plots that keeps me wondering which direction the story will go. Another great addition to the series!
On a side note I finally understand why Sal hates bananas!
“The golden boy rebirthed into the hero.”
Third book of the Story Of Salvatore, Grunt marks the turning point in Sal’s life. Of course the first two books did, as well but in this one, as Sal is pushed beyond his limits and goes through his training as a Sibyl recruit, the traits we could sense in the Initiation and Tea For Two are now revealed and enhanced.
His intelligence, his capacity to use his charms and easy-going persona truly shone. As his body transforms, so does his charisma and self-confidence. The journey wasn’t an easy one and the doubts and breakdowns, his suffering were palpable.
“Heartbroken and alone, Sal knew he had been an easy target.”
With all the changes, went on a huge introspection, and I loved the maturity he showed, especially about his relationships with the other characters. His determination to survive and excel made of him an man outstanding young man.
“Finally, he knew who he was”
Darkness and coldness predominate in this book but they were brilliantly counterbalanced with sweet and/or scorching hot scenes.
If Kailee Reese Samuels once more captivated me by beautifully handling Sal’s physical and psychological transformation during his training months, she blew my mind thanks to a huge mindfuck, the twists and the revelations she subtly slid here and there.
“But with each answer, a new question loomed.”
That author is seriously becoming one of my favorites, and I can’t wait to dive into Hopechest as I guess there are so many more unexpected turn of events to come!!!
