A faded farmhouse, a devoted dog. One special season.Melinda is already at a crossroads when the “for rent” sign beckons her down a dusty gravel lane. Facing forty, single and downsized from her stellar career at a big-city ad agency, she’s struggling to start over when a phone call brings her home to rural Iowa. It’s not long before she moves to the country, takes on a rundown farm and its … rundown farm and its headstrong animals, and lands behind the counter of her family’s hardware store in the community of Prosper, whose motto is “The Great Little Town That Didn’t.” And just like the sprawling garden she tends under the summer sun, Melinda begins to thrive. But when storm clouds arrive on her horizon, can she hold on to the new life she’s worked so hard to create?

A nice read for the summer! I loved the characters and would like to have the recipes!
I ended up buying the entire series & signed up for the next book. No explicit language or sexual scenes. Drew me into Melinda’s life.
This is a great feel-good series.
This book focused on change and adaptation. Which is happening in epidemic proportions. I found it delightful, refreshing but also enriching
Just want the next book, Harvest Season. Don’t understand why I can never purchase one if I want it.
A wonderful book about family, small town life and a lesson of life when you least expect it but greatly need it.
I really enjoyed the book because of all the detail of the places and events of the lead characters life . very comfortable and homey with the right level of suspense. Cannot wait to read the rest of the series.
Plot was somewhat slow & predictable.
An easy, relaxing read with realistic, charming characters. Perfect for anyone who wants to spend an afternoon reading about the transition to country life and simpler times.
Refreshing story!
Heart warming
This part of an excellent series. Great writing!
I loved it.
Really good book. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but in the end, it was a true adventure following Melinda on her journey…l
No substance but sweet.
Not my cup of tea. Slow read overall. Can already tell what future plot points will be. If you like a slow gentle tale this is for you. If you want fireworks, pass.
A fluffy, kinda entertaining read – a pleasant pastime – BUT -it has so many mistakes, especially in punctuation, that the distraction gets to be aggravating. Did anyone even proofread this mess? The end is a lead-in to the next book, which I’ll be avoiding. Too bad, it could be a three star.
I enjoyed this read. Great characters, wonderful story.
I found the character relatable and her journey one that everyone has experienced in their lifetime. Her return to her home and familiar surroundings reminds us that there is nothing wrong with starting again
The best character was the dog.
