Let’s be honest here. This story had absolutely nothing to do with Sturgeon (Turg) and Nera. They don’t meet until the 42% mark and when they do meet it’s like “hello, you’re my mate now let’s solve the mystery”. They don’t actually get any alone time until the 90% point and by this time I’ve already resigned myself to not actually getting to know them. The book honestly should’ve just been a part 2 for Addian and Fynn, with the mystery thrown in there.
As to how this book relates back to Milly Taiden’s PDA series….yeah Gerri wasn’t even necessary for the matchmaking. Nera already knew Turg was her mate all these years, but she sat back and waited while he played his role as the playboy under the sea.
About a year has passed since we first met Fynn and Addain and they now have a precocious little girl who takes after both of her parents. When her brother Sturgeon comes to visit, he brings tales of trouble plaguing the water realms. As they dig deeper, they believe it might be connected to their pasts, but the clues just don’t add up. While he’s glad to see his sister happy, it also starts the seed of him finally ending his playboy ways and settling down. With plenty of badgering from his sister and friends, he finally agrees to talk with Gerri, and can’t be more excited when he meets the woman who is to be his mate. Nera is a unique creature that lives deep in the dark waters of the ocean. But she too is on the trail of the disappearing water people and quickly joins this motley crew in their investigation. Plenty of laughs, mystery, suspense, and romance in this fun read.
This series just gets better and better the further I delve into it. There are many parts where I laughed so hard from the interactions between all the characters!
Sturgeon is Fynn’s brother and he has a stubborn streak as big as the ocean. Nera has always known who her mate was, but waited for him to grow up. Their loving bond has to contend with the mysterious disappearances from the water realms. Will they be able to bond?
Turg and Nera were a great couple. It was nice seeing the familiar faces from book 1. This book was a bit different but still great. I felt it was a bit rushed but it’s not a full length novel so to get all the action packed story in there it was a bit fast.
Another entertaining installment to this fun series. I’m really enjoying the characters and their interactions. The story makes me smile and laugh. Filled with a healthy dose of entertainment, suspense, and romance it’s hard to put this book down.
Another winner for Savannah Verte. Turg doesn’t think he wants a mate until the others talk to him and he understands that’s just what he does want. Nera has been watching him for awhile and waiting till the time was right to get her man. Romance, sex, adventure and the villians aren’t even known yet but they are up to their dirty tricks. Book 3 is my next read and I can’t wait
This author reels you in and you are not aware of what she is doing until you are truly hooked. As the story of Addian and Fynn and their family grows you realize that the story is much more than your typical romance it becomes about the family and community thst we build that is stronger than blood ties. As an evil darkens the water worlds and threatens the land as well the characters grow and strengthen their relationships to protect both worlds. This book is written with much laughter to lighten the darkness that is coming. I loved Turg and Nera. Her take charge attitude was refreshing and put the player in his place. The book was to short for me I wanted to see more of Turg and Nera’s relationship and more of Gerri. She always brings such joy to the books as we laugh at her antics but it totally held my interest and the authors style of writing while being very intriquing will grow on you.
From the PDA world this part of the series is written a little different. Its not surrounded by the romance. Its almost as if its the backstory. I was confused at first but then I understood what she was doing. She’s writing the story and then working romance into it. Its not the lovely dovey kind that we’re used to. It was actually kind of brilliant once I figured it out. I think we get so used to the romance in the books and then the plot is small and this is the complete opposite and it totally worked for me! I enjoyed Turg and Nera. I loved Nera. She was sooo different and I enjoyed reading about her. One thing I did want is her in the book more. She didnt even make an appearance til about halfway.
