The weather outside may be frightful, but Mary and Joseph waiting out the storm together in a private lakeside cabin may be much more delightful. Joseph Douglas isn’t just any pilot—he’s #PilotBae, complete with dark hair, blue eyes, and a jaw cut so sharp it would make a diamond jealous. He’s also Mary Jefferson’s little brother’s best friend. But after soaring high with him for one night a few … for one night a few years back, his careless words had her crashing to earth, shattering her heart. But that doesn’t stop the shards of it from beating for him still.
Unbeknownst to Mary, Joseph is determined to put those shards back together. The skies feel different without Mary’s sparkling brown eyes, sweet smile, and decadent curves in his life; so when a snowstorm strands them during their holiday travels, he takes the chance to man up and make things right.
They only have a few grounded nights together. How will romance between them take off a second time toward happily ever after?

I liked this short story. It was entertaining and enjoyable. The characters were interesting and likable. There were several misunderstandings in this story that caused hurt feelings for those involved. Joseph and Mary spent one wonderful night together and it all went wrong in the morning because of a misunderstanding. Five years later they get a chance to talk and figure out what happened with some very good consequences. I liked that everything gets cleared up although I would have liked a bit more on the situation with Deon and Mary. The ending was good. You can see where things are leading. I recommend reading this book.
Loved this second chance holiday short story! Mary and Joseph had spent the night together when her stepbrother, Deon got married. The next morning she overhears the guys making jokes at her expense and she packs and leaves without a goodbye. Now 5yrs later, she’s on a flight to go see Deon and his family in Houston and Joseph sits next to her. I like how everything played out and loved the ending.
I loved this beautifully written, sexy and moving novelette about pharmacologist Mary, and hot pilot Joseph, who end up on the same flight 5 years after a one-night stand, and finally get a chance to talk through their fears and differences. Joseph was very pretty, he had Mary’s back, and he fun to read about. But Mary, with her caution and her sometime difficult relationship with her brother, and her fierce intelligence, really moved me.
This is a great read with great characters that are well developed and engaging and the chemistry is hot and steamy. The storyline flowed smoothly from beginning to the end.

Mary is heading to see her brother and his family for Christmas. Next to her on the plane is the man who was her brother’s best man. She and Joseph hooked up the night of the wedding, and she’s tried her best to keep away from him since then. But now, with the weather cancelling flights, they’re stuck in Charlotte together. And he’s glad to be with her, even if the feeling isn’t mutual. Can they get past the misunderstanding from 5 years ago? This is a really nice, mostly drama-free holiday story, with a happy ending. It was nice book to read, my first from this author.

A Holiday Romance Novelette by an Author I have not read before. It is well written short second chance story with a good storyline. #PilotBae Joseph Douglas and Mary Jefferson’s story about getting caught in a snowstorm that has them landing at a different airport than the one they where going to. Her brother Deon calls in a favor from a friend and they find themselves alone at a cabin. I enjoyed reading this story and seeing how they get together. Mary meets Joseph at her stepbrother’s wedding and they share a passionate night. The next morning she hears a discussion of his friends ribbing him about his interest in her and she flees before she can hear his response. Five years later they reconnect on their way to sharing Christmas with her stepbrother and her niece. When Mary realizes she might have over reacted all those years ago she’s determined to make amends. Enjoyable read. Loved both Mary and Joseph.

When a snowstorm forces their flight to land far from its final destination, former lovers Mary and Joseph find themselves stranded and dependent on each other. There’s quite literally no room at the inn. Fortunately, however, they do have friends with lakefront property nearby. The catch? There’s *just one bed* for the two of them and the last time they were together things did not end well. This is second chance romance meets forced proximity in the middle of a winter storm and it works. Grounded for Christmas is short, sweet and satisfying, packing a surprising amount of emotional depth in a small package.
This was a quick, second-chance romance that can be read during a coffee break. The well defined and strong characters, mixed with the emotional and passionate compenents, pull the reader in and keep then turning the page to see what happens next.
Joseph and Mary had a liason 5 years prior, at Deon’s wedding. (Deon is Joseph’s BF and Mary’s kind-of stepbrother.) It ended abruptly when Mary overheard what she thought was Joseph making fun of her. When he ends up sitting next to her on the plane 5 years later, she is less than happy! When they hit turbulance and she clings yo him for support, she is still not happy, but he is a little releaved. He doesn’t know what he did 5 years before.
When a grounding forces them into a cabin for a couple days, Mary learns she misunderstood what she heard, and Joseph is even more angry at Deon for his comments 5 years ago than he was origionally! It cost them so much time. Yet, as they approach Deon’s home, Mary reverts into her shell and puts distance between them.
Can Mary overcome her own self doubt and accept Joseph’s feelings for her? Can he make her see she is the only one for him?

loved Mary , Finally a real woman, who is comfortable with herself , body and mind. Her love interest Joseph was great too.I enjoyed this story , Second chance ,after a misunderstanding between them 5 years before, they get stranded for two days together finally realizing what they could have , great hopeful story.
I liked this story a lot. The characters have history and that history is what comes to a head when their characters meet again. I was a little weary of her brother and so I had a hard time believing his change of heart at the end, but overall, it was a good story and I think one that was well written.
