No words can describe how awesome this book is. I’m speechless after reading this and Bride. Logan Chance, you have gained yet another loyal follower!
GROOM (The Deceit Duet #2) BY Logan Chance
This is the 2nd book in the Deceit Duet. You must read Bride or you will be lost. This story kept me up late reading until I finished the book. It is so exceptionally good! Logan Chance brings us a solid story line, with passion, romance, secrets, deception, danger, angst, along with surprising twists and turns! Clementine asks Gabriel repeatedly through the book can you protect Tennyson and me. Gabriel kept reassuring her he could, but things have a tendency to go awry when you do not share the what and why of necessity. I definitely give this conclusion of The Deceit Duet 5 stars!
Groom picked up where Bride left off and I cannot say I was anything but exhilarated! The chemistry between Clementine and Gabriel accelerates in this book and the storyline is gripping. An absolutely fabulous duet. Highly recommended.
Well, after reading Bride I had so many questions; who is Tennyson’s father, why did Gabriel’s grandfather force him to marry Clementine, and what was the relationship between Savannah and Ronin?
So in Groom, not only are all the answers given, but what a shock to see how Logan pulled everything together. I never saw it coming.
I liked finding out how nice Gabriel really is, and his relationship with Tennyson is adorable. The wedding arrangements were extravagant (he is a billionaire), and Clementine trying on wedding dresses was, well, I can’t really say but it was more fun than I expected. Gabriel and Clementine are now one of my favorite couples; it is a shame this is only a Duet.
Suspenseful, Thrilling and Sexy
Logan had me on the edge of my seat, and had me guessing throughout the entire book. Groom is the conclusion of the Deceit Duet Series. I am once again blown away at Logan’s storytelling. This is a story of secrets and lies, and not sugar and spice and everything nice.
As the wedding of Clementine and Gabriel comes closer, will they become one? Or will it end in disaster? The pure chemistry between the Clementine and Gabriel is definitely passionate. I found this story romantic, suspenseful, thrilling and sexy. You will need to read to see if there is any HEA. I am very happy to see the conclusion to this story and highly recommend the book.
“Here comes the bride, all dressed in lies.” The second part of this story was just as great as the first part. What a great series.
4.5 Stars. It would have been 5, but I had questions at the end that I couldn’t shake.
The major suspenseful arc in the whole duet—that the evil guy is planning something dastardly to ruin Gabriel’s and Clementine’s wedding and, also to destroy their lives in the bargain—is hulking in the background throughout Book 2, almost to the end. It is brought up from time to time, such as when Clem is attacked by a stranger, or when Ronin tries to warn Clem, etc. But the majority of the second half of this duet is taken up with Gabriel’s and Clem’s gradually developing relationship. That process is so beautiful.
Gabriel’s need for control is lessening a bit. His view of himself is changing. Strong-willed, always in control of everything around him, he never believed he would succumb to falling in love with a woman. He still is strong-willed and mostly in control, but his trust in Clem blooms and he’s flabbergasted by that. Her trust in him blooms also, as she gets to know the man gradually being revealed to her. And they are definitely on a rollercoaster ride of sexual desire. He is dying to have her. She wants to be the fork that brings the cake to his mouth! This author has no compunction about teasing his readers. Clem and Gabriel have indulged in every sort of sizzling hot foreplay that can be imagined, but it takes more than half the book before the ultimate act finally occurs!
I enjoyed this half of the duet just as much as the first part of it. But—I had questions I wish the author had answered. When Clem is confronted by a villain, who says he’s there to collect what is his, she tells him no way in hell. Did they each misunderstand what the other was talking about? When the ending came, Clem and Gabriel certainly had their well-deserved HEA. But the biggest surprise that unfolds in the climax came with some loose ends for me that I cannot stop thinking about. Will any of the end-story issues be explained in upcoming books? Please Mr. Author, sir, may I have more?
It was an excellent read, filled with intrigue, angst, and twists. The lust-filled scenes are melting, scorching, and there are plenty of those scenes to go around! I am definitely panting for the next book.
Groom was the explosive conclusion in Logan’s Deceit Duet. It was full of lies, secrets, and twists I didn’t see coming!
Gabriel’s attraction was starting to show but the marriage was supposed to be of convenience, not for real. Would he be able to hold out long enough or would the chips start to fall?
Clementine’s secret was in danger. Could she go through with everything before it was too late?
I liked that I was surprised several times instead of figuring out what was going to happen. Lots of chemistry and suspense. Overall it was a good duet!
The intrigue continues in book 2. Very steamy continuation of Clem and Gabriel’s story. Action packed with a sense of menace. Prepare for big surprises.
I feel like the link between Tennyson’s mother and what was to happen in the future wasn’t closed. I was left with questions…..
The conclusion in the duet starts where Bride left off. Gabriel and Clementine are planning a wedding and getting to know each other. Sparks start to fly and as they get to know each other, the relationship blossoms. Secrets come out and and lies surface to change their lives forever.
“You humble me”
I enjoyed this story because of the surprisingly twisted plot line and I enjoyed the writing. Truly, the first part of this duo began with Bride Bride (Deceit Duet, #1) by Logan Chance and it felt so incomplete. However the writing was engaging enough for me to go on to read the second book of this duet, that is this, Groom (Deceit Duet, #2) by Logan Chance
The story unfolds in dual POVs and there is an enjoyable tension between the hero and heroine. with a suspenseful and surprising plot line. It’s sort of and “effed up” and twisted Cinderella story. Only Prince Charming and Cinderella have “issues”. Their impossible but “fated” love blooms wonderfully, erotically, with a touch of poetry. This touch of gentleness in a character that initially presents as so cold and unfeeling is lovely phenom that leaves a hopeless romantic like me weak kneed and breathless. The heroine was written on point so their dynamic is believable.
Any well written and well thought story that takes you away from the sorrows and toils of real life is a treasure for me. It moved me and my heart. Because this is treasure I recommend the duet.
“Gabriel reaches his hand out, running his fingers through my hair. ‘You humble me.’”
I enjoyed this duet a lot. It was pretty formulaic with a few twists thrown in along the way. As the wedding of Gabriel and Clementine gets closer, their relationship is heating up but the threat of secrets on both sides, threatens to ruin everything. My one gripe about this book (and it is very minor) is that I felt it leapt too quickly from Gabriel saving the day to happily ever after. I’m a sucker for an “I love you” reveal, but that was glossed over so quickly, I thought I had whiplash. One extra transition chapter and I would have been happy. Overall, it was a great duet and created a wonderful escape to dive into.
Groom
Logan Chance reviews on goodreads. Amazon. BookBub. The book addicts.
Omg omg
Omg omg. I find myself sitting here with my mouth gaping open !!
I WAS NOT EXPECTING THAT!!
Holy moly !!
I loved Groom. It was a epic ending to a spectacular story !!
Can’t wait for more form Logan Chance. He has became one of my favorite one click authors !!
Loved it!! I love Logan’s writing! I love how he doesn’t draaaaag certain scenes out that I get annoyed with in other books. I really liked the characters and the plot. I love when kids are involved. Gabriel turned out to be a great role model for Tennyson. Clementine was a great women, strong and sassy too!! Can’t wait to read another one by Logan!!
I did not see that coming! And let me just say, I pride myself on predicting the outcome of a book. That said, Groom does have an incredible happy ending, but it was not predictable. There were several moments of “WTH” for me. And that right there was the reason I found this second book of the duet an all-the-feels read.
So, this review will pretty much be to-the-point because I don’t want to say anything that would spoil the story. But I will say again, I was on the edge of my seat waiting for the resolution. Logan Chance is brilliant. I have to say there are not a lot of authors that can throw me for a loop. I’m pretty good at inferencing and predictability. The author’s writing, while weaving an angsty, intriguing tale, did not give anything away.
Amazing plot twists!
Clementine, I admit, was not an easy character to like at first. I didn’t trust her. She kept her secrets close, so I could only wonder if she was good or bad. It wasn’t until this second book, when secrets are slowly revealed that I understood her better. Clementine is a fierce, protective and selfless heroine.
Gabriel, was arrogant, dark and intense. And despite how he treated Clementine at the beginning, I believed he had a heart of gold. He turned out to be the loving, protective, gentleman I felt he would be. Yes, he was a true alpha but I did not find his protectiveness over the top.
There are several secondary characters in this book that I would love to see have their happily-ever-afters. And knowing this author, I believe we will one day have them. Why? Because he doesn’t leave us hanging.
Groom was even more fast-paced than Bride. And sadly, it felt to me that it ended too soon. I wished this book were longer. I didn’t want to say goodbye to Clementine and Gabriel.
One more thing I’d like to add about this author is that while I love his Romcoms, his Romantic Suspenses are my favorite. I am always surprised and excited when I get the the resolutions. Predictability is not a word I would used to describe Logan Chance when it comes to Romantic Suspense.
Do I recommend this duet? Absolutely! The Deceit Duet is a must read! Logan Chance is a must read!
This is my honest and unbiased review. Thank you for taking the time to read it. 🙂
Here comes the bride all dressed in…..
Bride left me wanting more and cursing Logan for leaving me on such a cliff hanger. lol Groom was well worth the dreaded wait though. Once I got Groom I read it within a few hours So much happened and all the truths came to light with someone even coming back from the dead…. Gabriel turned into a character I began to love. I also couldn’t wait for Gabriel and Clementine to face the sexual chemistry they had between one another and finally do the nasty
This book had all the right stuff besides the heat and sexiness it had some twists and mystery.
I’m satisfied but also sad that it over already. This Duet is a must read for sure.
Do Gabriel and Clementine tie the knot even when there is so many threats and bad things going on to try and stop there wedding?
You’ll just have to read the story to find out 🙂
wow!! This one was explosive!! Secrets are revealed and all hell breaks loose!! Fantastic ending!!
CAPTIVATING – DANGER – ACTION & SIZZLING ROMANCE
A river-of-pent-up molten-hot desires explode in “Groom.” Heart-pounding suspense, passionate scenes that left me breathless and a mind-blowing twist make this a sensational read for me. The author did not disappoint as this story is everything I wanted plus more.
Invitations sent, flowers are chosen, venue secured, a bridal gown selected all for the ultimatum marriage ordered in Gabriel’s grandfather’s will. Secrets that Clem keeps from Gabriel weigh heavy on her mind. Horrific danger awaits to pounce. Protecting Clementine and her son is pivotal to Gabriel. Will there be a wedding? Will Clementine be free of her distressing secrets and will Gabriel learn the answers he craves? Getting to this happy ending is a roller-coaster journey of twists and bends.
Relished this unforgettable page-turner creative read with witty dialogue, life-threatening moments, heartfelt moments, praise-worthy characters, sizzling romance, and an awesome conclusion to this duet. Clementine and Gabriel are perfect together. Gabriel’s adoration for Tennyson is heart-melting.
