A grizzly who’s out to find a perfect queen.
A shy tabloid writer with a dark secret.
Throw in a meddling ghost, a town full of bear shifters, and a vacation in a gothic mansion and what could go wrong?
Grizzwold Rochester Ambustus is a rock god (or on his way to becoming one)—and the future king of the Grizzly tribe. He’s also world-weary and determined to find a queen who is as angelic and … angelic and pure as can be.
Esly Ryan is a witch—she’s just not a good one. Good thing this shy bookworm has a day job that keeps her in shifter romances and puts a roof over her head. While Esly may spend her days spinning tales of happily ever after, her own HEA doesn’t seem to be in the cards.
She’s got a secret.
One so dark that, when she finally meets the king she’s waited her whole life for, it might remind him that she’s not the angel he seeks. She’s the madness he despises.
Note: The second book in the Shifter Kings L.A. series is not short, but it is sweet, sassy, sexy, shift-tastic, and a whole lot of Rock ‘n’ Roll … with a little Jane Eyre and Mr. Rochester thrown in.

The grizzly king is looking for his queen and has 30 days to do it. Esly Jane is a low magical witch. The only thing she can do is project herself somewhere else. But when she does she doesn’t remember anything. She feels broken and that she has a demon inside of her. Every year she goes to a mansion for a week. A mansion that to her feels like home but she doesn’t know why and everyone there treats her with unusual kindness and respect. But there is a secret that her adopted family has been keeping from her. Something from her childhood that was so traumatic that she is fractured. Can she become whole in time for she and her fated mate, the king of the bears, to assume their reign? I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review
Breaking apart to become whole
This has to be my favorite book of the series so far. I love how the author split these characters and when everything seemed to be against them they found their way back together. The author was so perfectly able to mesh the past with the present smoothing the way for the future. These two lost souls who had their childhoods ripped apart find their way back to each other against all odds. Be prepared with a fresh box of tissues when you read this book as there will be tears. Tears of sadness, of joy, of commiseration, and tears of remembrance. I can’t imagine how the author will top this story, but I can’t wait to read the next book and find out.
