I’ve enjoyed the two previous installments in this series, and this one was just as delightful. It’s got all the things that I love about paranormal cozy mysteries: a beleaguered heroine, quirky cast of characters, a small town that is more than it seems, a little supernatural flair to take it out of the ordinary, and a mystery that has a few surprises that make it fun to follow. Paige certainly had a rough go right from the start. Not only did she need to take out a loan for plumbing repairs, but the plumber finds a skeleton. An inspector comes out to look at the plumbing but discovers Paige has been living there in a commercial-only zone; she gives Paige two weeks to get out, or she’ll be fined and the bookshop closed. Could deceased Aunt Nora actually be responsible for the skeleton found in the basement of the bookshop? I enjoy the author’s writing style, as I can just slip right back into the world she has created as if I never left. Looking forward to more in the series.
With a new assistant who seems very concerned with making sure that books find a good home, Paige has been spending more time with her coven, and following other pursuits.
Does the charming chef Marco want a relationship or not? Or is he another one of those alpha male types who layer on the charm, then go off to flirt elsewhere?
And yup another body. This one found by the plumber in the basement. And an odd plumbing inspection forces Paige to look for somewhere else to live.
An amusing but sadly yet humorously real-ish tour of potential rentals follows. Scary yet funny as a fictional challenge for someone else.
Paige may yet get a chance at some nostalgic real estate, and another wacky confrontation with a few murder suspects is in store.
A charming romance and KU read. I bought this book/ one of many I either bought or borrowed in this series, or others from these authors.

This is the third book in the Beachside Books Magical Cozy Mystery series. Paige gets the bookshop running along but now the plumbing needs replacing. And she still has to find a place to live. It’s always something, and who has time for a body in the basement! These books are all fun to read, with twists and turns and a couple red herrings. I like that Paige has come so far but still doubts herself at times without letting that stop her doing what she thinks she must. And she can be pretty creative when she needs to be.

Back in Beachside Paige is getting settled into her new bookshop and is trying to set up her new life. She is trying to find a new apartment, working on getting the bookstore back on track and now dealing with a cold case murder mystery. All with the help of some really fun characters, including a charming cat.
The story begins when a dead body is found in the basement. A whole new mystery needs solving and only Paige can find out the answers. I loved the way this story played out, the twists and turns and the fun characters we meet along the way. There is humor and sass, questions and more questions and a fun little reading adventure. With just a touch of supernatural this story was a joy to read.
This author really knows how to balance the mystery, the character development, humor, and plot in a way that makes the reader turn the pages. I really enjoy this world that she has created and will look forward to more stories! I received an ARC and am leaving an honest review.
