I received this book for an honest review.
This is a great addition to the King’s Harlots Series. While reading Stain we see a strain between Jay and Angel but never know what caused it. Well this book answers all those questions.
Jay is having a hard time forgiving Meeka and also trying to deal with her past demons. She is still trying to deal with what happened with Vega but what is really holding her back is comparing what she had with her ex, Tyler, and what she has with Angel. She loves Angel but will all of that in her head it is causing a strain between her and Angel. will she be able to overcome her past and move forward with Angel or will she run?
Angel as always refuses to let Jay lip away from him. he has a way of pulling her out of her darkness and into the light. however, can he pull her out of this darkness? Can Angel help her heal and get back to the Jay we knew and love.
I liked getting more of Jay and Angel. It was eyeopening to see into Jay’s past how hard it is for her to get over what she has been through. I was frustrated at her when dealing with Meeka. I enjoyed the surprise toward the end. I cannot wait for the next one to see how the King’s Harlots deal with things that are coming their way.
This is Angel and Jay’s story. There relationship is different strange, but the are fighting and evil out there that’s involved in sex slavery.
This novella is a quick read that gives you another insight in to Jay and Angel’s relationship. Tyler left her all kinds of screwed up and he still manages to mess with her head, but Angel is not giving up on his woman!!
Angel needs to remind Jay that he isn’t Tyler.
This Novella takes place the same time as Meeka and Ashers book. This is a look into what’s going on with Jay and Angel.
Short. hot. sweet.
there’s not much more to say except HOLY COW
This series is getting harder and harder to read. This didn’t really fit as 2.5, maybe a 1.5 but all at once, it could have been shortened and used as the epilogue for book 1.
Grim is an added layer of Jay and Angel’s continuing relationship. They are having problems and neither know how to fix them. Angel wants Jay to talk to him about what’s bothering her and Jay just can’t seem to get the words out. Then her jerk of an ex, Tyler, comes back into the picture and makes everything even worse.
I was upset at Jay for most of this short novella, because she was being a diva, but she redeemed herself in the end. Angel is still his sexy, loving self, and lets his inner alpha come out to play, much to Jay’s dismay. Jay’s a strong woman, so Angel’s alpha tendencies aren’t normally something she tolerates, but she really needs to know exactly how Angel feels for her, and boy does she find out!
It was nice to see mentions of my favorite couple, Meeka and Asher, and other characters in Vice-One and King’s Harlots. And I’m still really loving the meshed world of the two. It’s gritty, sexy and intense. Can’t wait for more!
This novella, following Grit which is the first instalment of this amazing series, Grim takes us on Jay and Angels journey after the aftermath of Jays kidnapping.
Jay has her sister Violet back, after been missing for years.
One of the ring leaders of the abduction of so many girls is where he should be….In the ground.
Angel has confessed his undying love for Jay.
Everything has fallen into place.
But why is Jay so unhappy?
Why has her past come back to haunt her dreams?
Why does he haunt her dreams?
Can Angel get Jay to open up about her past?
Can he get her to bare her soul?
Will Jay ever be able to share her demons that are totally consuming her?
Will she ever let go of the fear?
Will Angel and Jay get there happy ever after?
All these questions and so much more are revealed in this amazing novella, that just like the first instalment Grit did, had me captivated from beginning to end.
Edgy, all consuming, heartbreaking, raw and highly emotional are just a few words that describe Grim.
An absolute mind blowing, heartfelt read that again left me wanting more.
A beautiful novella that I’m glad I’ve had the privilege of reading.
Again I highly recommend Grim, but bare in mind you need to read Grit first before diving in to this spell-bounding, emotional read.
You will not be disappointed.
5 stars.
More Jay & Angel? Yes please!
Grim is a short read catching us up on the lives of some of our favorite characters.
And while we wish things were perfect, that’s rarely the case.
Jay is struggling with Tyler issues which are bleeding over into her relationship with Angel.
Jay has some issues to work out and no they don’t all get resolved in this quick read but it does put more of her story into perspective and left me begging for the next book.
I absolutely adore the series and am impatiently awaiting the next book.
Oh Jay and Angel, this story felt like reading each person’s journal or diary. We dig in deeper to their relationship and the struggles that they both face, but more so for Jay, as they work to be a couple. The scars of the past are truly hard to overcome so I appreciated this in depth, raw look at the challenges that they both faced to truly work towards a happily ever after. If you loved these characters in Grit, you will love experiencing life after Grit to find out what really happens.
