“No one ever told me that you could break a heart by giving someone yours” -Ben. This book is full of love, passion and pain. It will ignite every brain synapse that you have. It is better than chocolate, ice cream and an unlimited credit card. Grenade is book 2 in the Tarnished Crowns Trilogy, and is told from Ben’s point of view. The story of deception, love, passion and angst continues.
So many people want to manipulate Ben. He’s a chess pawn in a wicked game of thrones. The assassination of Blair’s brother, the future king heightens political tension and makes her the number one target for more than just death. As the deception comes to a boiling point, so does the passion, and nothing is quite as it seems. A true test of faith for three people to love each other despite all odds.
Grenade continues where Chandelier left us but it is told from Ben’s POV. I loved that the author did this because I was left with so many questions about this man after the first book, and it was great to get to know him more. I feel I’ve come away with as many questions as I had going in to this book to be honest, but then I’m expecting that the third and final novel will tie everything up for me. I desperately need to know, so I will be waiting impatiently for the release of Emeralds.
In Grenade we follow the aftermath of the events that happened in book one and witness the decisions that Blair has to make. We also had a taster of what was happening between Blair, Ben and Isaac in the first book and the relationship that they have moves forward in this book with some very hot M/M/F scenes. The attraction that they all share is unquestionable and I cannot wait to see what happens next between them.
This book continued to keep me intrigued throughout. I’m desperate to find out what is going on and what the outcome will be. Who can be trusted? What is that person’s motive? What secrets are they keeping? I guess I will discover all the answers in Emeralds, the conclusion of the Tarnished Crown Trilogy, and I cannot wait.
This is the 2nd instalment in the Tarnished Crown trilogy and the intrigue didn’t disappoint.
All of the puzzle pieces are in motion, but where will they land. The pressure is mounting in both the love triangle and the political triangle leaving you wondering who will be left standing with Blair at the end. All of the secrets are bound to unravel and leave everything exposed…
Grenade is the second book in Tarnished Crown Trilogy and is told from Ben’s point of view. This book is something you won’t be disappointed in. It has a lot of action and a lot of hot, hot scenes with Blair, Isaac, and Ben. You’ll see glimpses of Ben’s past and you’ll meet some new characters. You will see a lot of twists and turns that you really need to put attention to in order to keep up with them, but in the end you will not be disappointed. I really enjoyed this book and will be looking forward for the next one!
When I got to the end of this book, I had to think back to where book one ended. A LOTTTT happens here. This really has all the action, and so much to still be resolved. We are in the thick of it all and I can’t think of much to say, as all I can focus on is needing to read the final book to see what happens. But Grenade is a great name for the way these characters’ lives have exploded, they will need one another for support.
This is the second book in the Tarnished Crown trilogy. It won’t make sense if you haven’t read Chandelier. Chandelier is a great book and I highly recommend it. Grenade is from Ben’s point of view. Usually romance novels are from the women’s POV or switch between characters so a book completely from the man’s prospective is really interesting. The love affair between Isaac, Blair, and Ben deepens. The relationship aspect of the book is really well written. The emotional scars Ben has and how it affects his actions are revealed and extremely understandable. The past and the forces pulling on Ben become more and more evadent. The pressure cooker that is Blair’s life increases intensity. The boom ends on one hell of a cliffhanger but the last book Emeralds is out so you can go straight to the conclusion.
Annie Dryer is an excellent writer. She weavers her stories together expertly. The pace is perfect in this book pulling you along page by page. You don’t want to stop reading because you know the explosion of the story is coming. Definite 5/5 stars!
I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
In this book we get Bens POv and I loved him! After the prologue I needed to know how we got to that point. So many times in this book I wanted to yell. I wanted to throw my kindle and I want to devour it. It kept me engrossed in the story line. It picked up where the last book left off but we also got to see these three characters navigate everything that was happening (I won’t go into details because this is the middle book in a trilogy). But I will say that I can’t wait for the last book. I want these characters to get a HEA because they deserve it. Bring on the last book, I’m totally ready! 4 stars #2OCCJD
Starting where book one left off, this story is told from Ben’s point of view. More twists, intrigue and hot and steamy scenes. Can’t wait to see how it all finishes up in the final instalment.
This book, this series and these characters are everything for 2020!!!! 5 ‘s aren’t enough. The suspense of this book was incredibly written. Annie Dyer has taken things up a notch.
I can’t remember a time I so emotionally invested in characters, the way I am with Blair, Ben and Isaac. I found myself getting caught up in my emotions, I was happy, sad, angry, yes I was all over the place. Each character consumed me for different reasons, Blair because she’s bold and fierce. Ben is free, he’s all alpha and Isaac is the king of mystery
I love that this book comes from Ben’s point of view, because he’s the most intriguing and intense character. He controls so much but nothing I repeat is what it seems. Getting to know him better, made fall for him even more.
This book, is wildly passionate, it has the perfect combination of a story, sex and surprises. I was on the edge of my seat, trying to figure out what will happen next. I love the build up that happens in this book but also in the entire series. The deeper the story goes, the more it intensifies, the characters are even more interesting and entertaining.
This is the second book in The Tarnished Crown Trilogy and is told from Ben’s perspective. I feel like so much happens in this book and while some answers are had, there are more questions that have popped up. I’m really loving the way that these stories are being told in the different POVs and how we are learning more about the characters. This book is full of secrets, political intrigue, and plenty of heat. I can’t wait for book three to finally bring everything together. Great series so far!
While this book is steamy and the sex scenes kinky there is so much more going on here. The twists and turns are so exciting that it keeps you turning the page to see what happens next.
The addition of Ben’s POV is wonderful as I have been wondering what it is going on in his head.
Can’t wait until book 3.
*not a standalone
4 stars for – Grenade – book two in the Tarnished Crowns Trilogy by Annie Dyer. This book must be read after book one – Chandelier – as there is a LOT going on and you will most certainly be lost if you pick up from the middle. As with book one this book has a prologue that is quite ominous and keeps you on your toes throughout the book but I urge you to pay attention as many things happen along the way.
Book two is told from Ben’s POV and it centers around his life growing up and in the military up until now. Ben has been through so much yet still cares for his loved ones like no one has before. For every one question we have answered two more pop up to take it’s place but it’s done in a way that keeps you wanting more.
With the sex and intrigue off the charts I can’t wait to dive head first into the epic conclusion in Emeralds next!
I didn’t know how this trilogy was going to go.
This was a necessary book and I loved it but I was so concerned about a HEA.
There is so much going on in this book-we learn so much about our cast of three.
I love when we get the past in little snippets.
I was interested to see how it’d be being in Ben’s head for a whole book; truthfully, I had my reservations about him from Chandelier and how he treated Blair. But I actually really liked his POV, plus we get to see some heartbreaking backstory. I really felt for him; except for his dad, his family is terrible. Despite his reservations about falling in deeper with Blair and Isaac, the 3 of them can’t resist the pull of each other. Their first time as a thruple (haha)… reallyyyy good.
I’m excited to get Isaac’s POV…still can’t make up my mind about him. Don’t know who to trust at this point! And after this one’s ending, I can’t wait to start Emeralds!
I knew the story was going to continue to have me at the proverbial edge of my seat, but getting this next part of the trilogy from Ben’s perspective blew my mind!
Getting more of the political intrigue, the behind the scenes, the love, the drama, the tension, the tragedy, the backstory, well all of it just made for a perfect storm of an emotional rollercoaster of a story and I am hooked, (not that I wasn’t already after Chandelier!) and cannot wait for what the final book in the trilogy will bring!
I adore these three and am rooting for them so hard even after facing all this insurmountable odds. I am on tenterhooks!
So, if you’re looking for some delicious and devious angst to sink your teeth into, look no further!
HOLY Titfire…
This author is killing me slowly. I knew that after the way that book one ended that I was going to be in for a wild ride, and boy howdy was I ever. The first book left off with a preview of what was to come and even though I was “prepared” I really wasn’t prepared if that even makes sense.
This book is even hotter than the first book. How that is even possible, I have no idea. Zero. Nada. None. Yet, she upped the steam and chemistry between all of these characters. The secrets, tension, power plays, and suspense is still palpable. I am still in awe of how this author has created this amazing fictional world that seems so real. It is like Dynasty, Dallas (vintage TV), and The Crown merged and made a baby… but better. SOOOOOOO much better. It is appropriate the book is named Grenade because I still have no idea who is good and bad in this book, and all I do know is that S%*T has gotten real. That in itself should say how great this book is. It is a rollercoaster ride of all rollercoaster rides. That ending… no seriously, that ending… GOBSMACKED and left my mouth agape like a fish out of water. Truly Sublime. I am contemplating sacrificing my son to the zombies for Emeralds. Kidding. #kinda #TheStruggleIsReal
I can already tell by the first two books that these will be going in my all-time favorite vault. That is how good this series is. Definitely, in my best of 2020. I cannot recommend this series enough.
Ah, this series! Can I just start of by saying that I love that while each of the books still has the three main characters at the heart of it and that we get to see the progress of every single relationship–Blair with Ben, Ben with Isaac, Isaac with Blair, and all three of them together–the focus shifts. The series starter, Chandelier, had more of Blair and her back story; now with this second book, Grenade, we get to know Ben better, getting his personal history and some of his motivations for his actions and realizing how not everything is what it may seem. Annie Dyer has clearly gone above and beyond with this trilogy because she’s certainly kept me on my toes as a I continued to keep a keen eye on everything that was happening to and around our main set of characters. Second books in a continuing series tend to wane, but not Tarnished Crowns’ second offering! Five stars go to Grenade.
Oh sweet Ben! Our troubled love who is torn in directions he doesn’t deserve!
What a powerful and moving second story of the Tarnished Crowns trilogy! It is filled with secrets, heat, action and love recognized for what it is or not.
The dynamics between our characters just deepens in this segment of the trilogy and gives you a better but still not fully clear picture of all the players!
I am so enjoying this!
Oh my goodness this is a great second book in the tarnished crown trilogy. It is told from Bens point of view. Blair’s brother the heir to the throne has been killed and there is trouble for Blair.
Ben Isaac and Blair have to figure out who they can trust and follow their hearts with each other. Lots of steamy scenes. Great characters. So can’t wait for the final book in this series. They do have to be read in order so make sure you start with Chandelier. You won’t regret it.
I knew after reading the first book that I would love this one, and I wasn’t wrong. It’s so good to read a book with such a strong female character.
This book is once again action packed and very very hot! MMF books usually aren’t my thing, but I am thoroughly enjoying this series.
