Green Dawn picks up where Half Turned ended and is a PG13 dystopian battle tale which takes two days to read. I had an ARC and this voluntary review is my own opinion.
Showtime: A Dystopian Action Adventure by Mark Kloss is book 2 in the Game Hunter series. I really like the covers of the books in this series! This book is definitely not a standalone book. I feel that reading the first book in the series will give you all the background information you need to understand what’s going on in the world. Mark Kloss does a great job of world building and writes with a great sense of humor. His characters are unique but somehow still very relatable. His spin on the zombie/dystopian genre is amazing! I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!
“Most of the time that better world exists within you.”
“This time next week we would be playing for ours and every other zombie life in the live TV show called Game Hunter. This time next week each minute would be a matter of kill or be killed then scalped. And this time next week whether we win or not, some of us would definitely die in the process.”
“We kept silent; I knew neither Red nor Megan feared death. I also knew that like me they only feared to let their cousins down. If our end was here, then so be it.”
Showtime is the second book in the Game Hunter series from Mark Kloss. I had never read any of Kloss’s work until book one, Game Hunter, and despite this being a zombie book, which I usually avoid, I loved it. I was anxious to jump into the next installment of what was going down with Tremayne and Red. I was NOT disappointed either. This one much like the first was just full to the brim with action and plot that I was constantly finding myself just hanging on till the end of this chapter before bed. Quickly I found I had finished the novel and was left aching to find out what comes next.
In this one we pick up right where we left off in Game Hunter. Tremayne and Red are getting ready to go into battle on the TV show, Game Hunter. They are determined to fight for their safety, freedom, and lives of themselves and their fellow zombie kind. New twists are dropped in here and there that leave you wondering how and why? But all in the perfect ways, rather than confusion. I loved this and I can’t wait to jump into the next one and find out where we find these great characters next.
“Do you feel I mean, can you remember what it was like to love and laugh and cry, maybe even hope?”
“Actually I think that question shows a lot of ignorance from someone who should know better… Your skin is different than theirs. Does that mean you don’t feel, love, and… What were the other things he said?”
“I gave a shiver. This time the shiver wasn’t all bad; more a mix of anxiety and excitement. There was a lot more in store, no doubt both good and bad. For now I was satisfied that we had made it through the first round. Radic was where he belonged. And at this moment, as far as I was concerned, so was Red.”
I give Showtime (Game Hunter Book 2) by Mark Kloss, 4 stars.
*This review contains spoilers from book 1*
This book picks up exactly where book one left off. Tremayne and Red are back, preparing for the first of the games, along with the rest of their crew. They know it will be extremely difficult. They know there is a great chance that they won’t survive. But they have to do it for their zombie cousins. Will they be able to win? At what cost?
This series is quite different and individual from anything I’ve read before. This book picks up on the drama at the end of the book. Your favorite characters are back, and they meet some new friends along the way. They face many obstacles. The characters are great and this book is written very well. The action holds you until the very end. In all this tragedy and chaos, they were normal humans once, and long for that time again. But they know they can’t, and not just fight to survive.
This book is unlike any zombie book or series you have read before. If you like zombie books and action, this book and series is for you.
Showtime: A Dystopian Action Adventure (Game Hunter Book 2) By Mark Kloss. I recommend you reading this series in order. This series has taken me by complete surprise since this normally is what I would read but I’m glad I picked it up and gave it a chance. The characters are complex and believable while each one brings something different to the storyline. The storyline is so well described that you can’t help but see it play out in your mind, the author takes great strides to make sure the details matter which makes for a fuller pictured story. The storyline is well written and thought out and this one a a bit of a faster pace but not in a rushed way. The banter between characters is so enjoyable you forget it’s just a story. This book has plenty of action and a bit of mystery keeping readers on their toes with it’s unexpected twist and turns. I’m giving this one five stars and can’t wait for more.
After reading Game Hunter Book 1 in the Game Hunter Series, I had very high hopes for the books to follow. Not only did Showtime meet my expectations, it exceeded it. I truly enjoy the world that Kloss has created and I love diving deeperand deeper into Kloss’ world.
Kloss is an amazing storyteller, his writing style makes it very easy to read.
Once again I couldn’t put this book down and I can’t wait until the next book!

Showtime is the second book in Mark Kloss’ Game Hunter series. It picks the story up with the heroes, a couple of young half-zombies, training to fight against “normals” on a television show that promises to be a game changer for the zombie community.
The Game Hunter books are set in London following an incident that has turned the population of the city into zombies, with a small group of half-zombies who have only been partially affected. I love the setting, with abandoned churches and shops and other fascinating buildings that the characters explore.
Although the book is action-packed throughout, there is also a level of complexity to the story and plenty of mysteries that gradually unravel. The characters are also fairly well-developed and interesting. I love Tremayne with his romance novels tucked away in a rucksack! And the cryptic Elders.
Showtime is an intense, gripping and exciting book. For me it gets five stars – I’m definitely enjoying this series more than I expected to! It’s got a bit of a Hunger Games feel to it and is a great dystopian zombie story!
Showtime is the second book by Mark Kloss in his Game Hunter series. As the book opens we find our heroes Tremayne and Red are about to enter the Games for the first time. As Half Zombies the general public is baying for them to lose the game but will they defy predictions?
I enjoyed this book as it had a lot of action and some real edge of the seat moments. We got to know the characters much better and again the description of a dystopian London was worryingly believable.
As this is book 1 in the series I’d highly recommend reading book 1 first. I don’t think this would work reading it as a standalone. You have to invest in the characters in book 1 so that you’re rooting for them in book 2.
Overall a fab and entertaining book with a refreshing change in this genre. 4/5 Looking forward to finishing the story out in book 3.
Showtime: A Dystopian Acton Adventure, Book 2 in the Game Hunter Series by Mark Kloss
4 out of 5 stars
First I recommend you read book one in this series as this is a direction continuation of that book. Second, strap yourself in for a wild ride. Book two picks up where book one left off with the Game Hunter shows. This book is putting Zombie against humans and reading this story from the Zombies point of view, you get a very unique view on the struggle of change, growth and interpersonal relationship with these half-zombie teenagers who have found themselves in the middle of the Game Hunter shows. Our main characters start to develop new abilities and skills to help them throughout the game but with the odds stacked against them, their chances for survival soon dwindle. This Author have done an amazing job continuing this story and building the dystopian London that revolves around our characters. This is a great book club series!

Showtime is the second book in the Game Hunter series by Mark Kloss. This Book is a zombie story with a difference. It is a Dystopian/paranormal/ Zombie story- with some action, drama, mystery, and humour. The story is very original- and entirely entertaining. It is a fun read, and really gave me the feel of ‘Hunger Games’ meets ‘The Running Man’ meets ‘Warm Bodies’.
Tremayne, Red and the team training and planning for the Game Hunter TV show. There is a lot at stake and failure will have deadly consequences. They are pitted against professional game hunters, where their chances of success seem minimal at best. Who can they trust? Will they outwit the professionals and beat them at their own game? Mr. Kloss is a new-to-me author and I am really pleased that I took a chance on this book.
This is such a great action-packed adventure- Mr. Kloss takes zombie lore and gives us his own unique spin on it and weaves a great story in the process. The characters were well developed, complex and likeable- they each had their own unique characteristics, quirks and flaws. I loved the banter between Tremayne and Red, and the camaraderie of the group.
Bring on book three!
Thank you, Mr. Kloss!
Show Time- Mark Kloss
4-star review
Show Time by Mark Kloss is another great read in the Game Hunter series. This is the second book of the series and it follows directly where the first book left off, so I would highly suggest reading it in order. Just like book one this book is intense, action-packed, suspenseful and so captivating. It’s also incredibly detailed which made it so easy to picture everything playing out in my mind.
I love how even though it’s a serious and intense storyline there’s plenty of humour the whole way through which had me laughing out loud. I also enjoyed that I was able to connect with these characters from the beginning even though I clearly couldn’t relate to them. Mark Kloss is a fantastic author who took me on an unforgettable journey yet again with this book. I would definitely recommend this dystopian read to others!
Showtime is the second book in the Game Hunter series by Mark Kloss is a is every bit as enjoyable as the first book Game Hunter. The story is easy to read, funny and entertaining as once again, Mark has brought this dystopian world to life where Zombies believe it or not are the good guys. It is a thrilling ride from start to finish, with the game on the Zombie action takes us through the landmarks and underground of London where the next danger and unexpected happens.
Zombie lovers will not be disappointed in this fun read!
Showtime by Mark Kloss is the second book in his amazing Zombie trilogy.
Forced to take part in the show Game Hunters, Red and Tremayne are teenage vampires who are desperately fighting for not only their lives but also that of their family and friends.
In the first game they have to be the first ram to kill two of the opposing team as well as find five branded gold bars. But they know the win isn’t in their favour, everything is stacked against them. And it doesn’t take long before things go from bad to worse.
They are forced to rely on unexpected help in order to try and win the round. But will it be enough to get them through?
This book is just as good as the first book in the series. The story continues through, never once leaving you as the reader behind. It builds on everything you have read in book one and enhances the whole story. I love the way Red and Tremayne work together, doing everything they can to try and save everyone. I am excited to see how this trilogy ends.
Another action packed hilarious story in this world of zombies! I highly recommend reading book 1 prior to this book in order to understand the storyline. Love how the author includes humorous moments when you don’t expect it. Can’t wait for the next book!
Kloss writes another riveting tale in his Game Hunter series that will captivate readers from the very first page. This is not meant to be read as a stand-alone. The plot and characters continues as previously seen in the series to be rich and complete. This page turner is a dystopian fantasy that will delight readers. Highly recommended.
Showtime (Game Hunter #2)
By Mark Kloss
Rated 5 stars
This is the second installment of the Game Hunter series. This pretty much picks up where the last left off. We find our half zombies practicing their skills and getting their team together for the game of their life. Once the buzzer sounds the games have begun.
This is filled with twists and turns and a pretty decent plot. I am happy to say this series is keeping me wanting to turn page after page. I enjoy the alone time the two main characters get together. It basically shows their “human side” is still there with the snappy dialogue and all the sighs and little jokes. Tremayne is ever expanding his abilities and his relationships. This half zombie has come so so far since we first met him in Book One. There are many new and interesting characters that we meet throughout this book.
What a cool ideas for a series. This book is engaging and easy to read. I also enjoy all of these characters. I eagerly look forward to the next in the series.
On a side note..I want to say the covers of these books are amazing! They drew my attention to the book. The eye, the town and shadows. I loved it!
This is the second book in this series. The game continues for the half zombies, Tremayne and Red. What will happen as they are forced to fight for their lives. This book will hold your attention until the end. It reads like a video game that made me feel as if I was part of it. The characters are enjoyable and relateable. They even bring some humor and romance to the story. Will a group of half zombies that have powers be enough to get them a win? I highly suggest reading this book.
Showtime (Game Hunter Book 2)

5 out of 5 stars
The story Showtime (Game Hunter Book 2) by Mark Kloss is a science fiction/zombie/dystopian book. I am truly enjoying reading this series and about the characters of Tremayne and Red. The story begins with the main characters training for the first of three live TV shows of Game Hunters. Tremayne, Red and the team that fights with them are in planning mode as the stakes are high and the odds against them seem to be overwhelming. There are specific goals that must be successfully completed in this game in order for them to win. Will this team be able to outsmart the deadly hunters that they are competing against? Will they complete the goals before the hunters? Who will be left standing at the end of the game? This story has plenty of action and danger. There are questions as to who is behind events that unfold and also who this team can and can’t trust. I enjoyed this story just as much as the first book. It is a page-turner that hooked me in and I didn’t want to put it down until I had finished it. I loved reading about the interactions/bantering back and forth between Tremayne and Red. I also enjoyed reading about how the team works well together. This story will have you expecting the unexpected and wondering what is going to happen next. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
a great read about survival. Tremayne and his friends made it through the events of the last book to face a live televised deadly game against seven of the best zombie hunters. with tensions rising and enemies drawing closer, Tremayne and his friends train in a hope to win the game and save their people. but with the stakes high and the odds stacked against them, will they be able to survive the game?
a great read. well developed plot with twists and turns that I just couldn’t put down. fast paced action and short sentences made for an enjoyable read. well developed characters like Tremayne trying to survive while still being kind or Red being brave despite her struggles. I also loved the development of Mr Saddler as a parental figure of kindness the novel and characters needed. once again, I loved the addition to the zombie genre of having it in the perspective of the zombies with a sense of humour
I loved the sense of it being in London with the streets and London Bridge and St Pauls Cathedral adding a locality to the story. I also loved the visual detail throughout the novel like with the sunset or the moon or the glass windows in the cathedral full of stunning detail with a sense of it being magical, full of vivid colour and life that contrasted beautifully with the greys and darkness of the apocalyptic world around them. overall, a brilliant read and I would give it five stars
