How dare he? How dare he come into my store, The Green Vegan Shop, with a t-shirt saying: I didn’t claw myself to the top of the food chain to eat vegetables? I get it. He’s a Chef and meat lover, but does he have to flash it in my face every time he shops here? Honestly, I try to be nice to everyone. I’m a vegan after all. We’re nice people… but this guy gets under my skin. Like a tick. And … tick. And brings out the feisty redhead lurking inside me. He is easily the most infuriating, selfish, and cruel bastard in the city of Seattle.
Melody is proving to herself and the world that she has what it takes to run a successful business, based on sustainability and fair trade.
Her family thinks she should be focusing on starting a family since she’s already thirty-two, and she is trying. But even with the help of an agency it seems impossible to find a decent man who matches her criteria and has what it takes to excite her. It’s not that’s she’s frigid, it’s just that she’s attracted to the wrong man.
This book is intended for mature readers only, as it contains a few graphic scenes and some inappropriate language.

I received this book from Bookfunnel for my honest opinion. Two strong personalities, both with loving, giving hearts, bring out the best and worst in each other. Melody is a vegan who owns Green, a vegan market who wants eventually be married with a family. She’s not getting any younger and has a check list of requirements any potential man would need. Christian is a highly prized chef turned steak house entrepreneur with 3 restaurants who is the ultimate confident, sexy alpha who is happy with his playboy ways. Talk about opposite ends of the spectrum. The sexual tension is off the charts between these two but the continual bickering and heated arguments only feed their silent doubts and insecurities. Even though each book can be read on it’s own, it’s wonderful how the characters from the previous books in the series tie into the current one. You won’t go wrong with this or any book written by Elin Peer.
Oh my, I have discovered a new favourite author. The only negative/disappointing thing about this book is that I can only give it 5 stars ….. I would happily give it 500.
This book took me on an emotional roller coaster and had me begging for a HEA for Melody and Christian. The author writes emotions so amazing well, and so accurately, that my heart felt like it was breaking a few times. I loved both the Hero and Heroine, they are real, imperfect and captivating characters.
The book is written 1st person from both POV’s, allowing you to understand their decisions, emotions and mistakes. I liked how we learnt about their dysfunctional families, but that this wasn’t harped on about as the excuse for everything they did. There were subtle examples of how it affected their behaviour but it wasn’t overdone.
The writing is incredible, the plot fairly simple but a perfect complement to the complex emotions and all the characters are interesting and well developed. The book was not only easy to read but kept me gripped from beginning to end. There is no huge mystery, there is no threat or subterfuge, just an amazing and captivating (but never simple) romance.
I’m off now to read the first two books in the series, and any other books by this author as I am feeling withdrawal symptoms already.
This is the third book in the Clashing Colors series. It is a stand alone book, but reading the first two prior to reading this one is recommended. That being said…this is my favorite so far. I seem to think that after reading each one, but I just love the back and forth between these two characters. I found myself laughing out loud and even stopping to read some exchanges to my sister who would also laugh out loud. I always enjoy a strong female character and this book has that, but she is vulnerable at the same time. It helps to make the character believable. Elin Peer is a great writer and I highly recommend reading all of her books. She does not disappoint.
Melody and Christian had me laughing out loud with their shenanigans through out this book. It was fun and emotional and masterfully played. The Vegans vs Carnivores killed me with these two as they warred constantly. But to trust your heart to someone who has totally different outlooks and views may not be a good thing. But with relatives like they each have will they be able to keep it a secret until they figure it out? A great addition to the Clashing Colors Series, as we see the interact and grow into their own relationships. They are standalone books however the characters cross over.
As with the other books the story is well developed and skillfully weaved. The characters are strong in their own rights even while they might be considered as single minded and somewhat anal they are funny and real.
