So first and most importantly, Griff is my favorite out of all the members of the Deadly Seven. I absolutely love him! He has the super sexy geek vibe going that I love!
Griffin has horrors in is past that even his family is unaware of, as a result he is religious with maintaining balance with his sin of greed. Lilo has her own issues thanks to her family, but somehow has never let that change her. Griffin & Lilo run into each other (literary), causing their paths to become intwined.
I love this story & as I said before, Griff is my favorite of the family. This series is so different in its concept and I absolutely love it! If you love superheroes then this is the series for you. Definitely a must read
I just want to give big squishy hugs to Griffin and Lilo! The journey to love wasn’t easy, but they’re just a super adorbs couple! Especially once Griffin pulls his head from you know where…
I am really enjoying the Deadly Seven series! What is so appealing about the series-besides the fast-pace and romantic elements-is the balancing act Pecherczyk maintains with all the balls she’s juggling. From introducing and keeping the Lazarus family in the mix, focusing on whichever main couple’s relationship the story is about or revealing another layer to the Syndicate’s twisted plot, there’s something constantly happening and keeps me engaged and invested in the final outcome!
Greed is the second book in The Deadly Seven series. Griff is the hero in this one. He can sense greed in others. During his training when he was younger he lost control of his abilities and people got hurt. So now control and balance is everything to him. He does anything to stay in balance so that he can help people without a chance of hurting anyone. While the rest of his siblings want to find their fated mate that will balance them and give them new abilities, Griff wants to rely on what he knows works and doesn’t want to find his mate. He doesn’t think he needs anyone else to keep balance and control. He’s very logical and analytical, so he doesn’t think depending on someone else is a good idea. Then he meets Lilo and everything changes. She’s a reporter and a friend of Grace from the first book, and she’s his perfect match. After meeting her, he gets his new superhero ability; and he finds out that she balances him more than any of his previous techniques ever did.
Meanwhile, there is an imposter pretending to be Greed and killing people. And while investigating for a story, Lilo and Griff find out that her father has been kidnapped and held hostage; and she’s the only one with access to what the kidnappers want.
This book is full of action and romance and I liked it even better than the 1st book.
Please note that I did receive an ARC of this book, but I am voluntarily giving my honest review.
This was an interesting read. It was dark and suspenseful. And had just the right amount of action! I can’t wait find out who’s in the next book!
Greed is the second book in the Deadly Seven series and features Griffin Lazarus, a date analyst(who can detect the sin Greed) and Lilo Likeke, a reporter at Cardinal Copy and Grace’s best friend(Grace is the protagonist of the previous book Envy). It’s not completely necessary to read this series in order as each book can be read as a standalone, since each one features different couples. But I would definitely recommend reading all the books in the series, to get a better idea of the world and the different characters present. You’ll definitely fall in love with this series the way I did!
The series features seven siblings who were genetically engineered in a lab and have the ability to sense the levels of their respective sins in other people around them. When they meet their other halves, they are able to find their balance and also develop new abilities. But there is an organisation which wishes to use these powers for their own agenda, and is seeking to create more such soldiers with these abilities. So the Lazarus family has become a target for their various schemes.
This book was a fun read as I was waiting to see how the uptight Griffin would fall in love! He is so meticulous about maintaining the balance pertaining to his sin-Greed, that he literally plans his activities and actions around this. But he has a serious reason for doing so. An incident in the past has affected him greatly, and even his family doesn’t know much about what happened to him.
Lilo is the complete opposite of him. She is bubbly, driven to report the truth and has little to no filter(I loved the first meeting between Lilo and Griffin, it was so hilarious!). Her past relationships have left her scarred and she has some issues with people deciding things for her, but she is an amazing and loyal friend.
I loved watching Lilo and Griffin interact with each other! The chemistry between them was off the charts from the get-go! The Lazarus family was a favourite as always. I really love Mary and Flint, since they are amazing parents to the siblings! They just know how to be there for their kids when needed.
And I really hated Donnie! He is a grade-A asshole and I hated what he had done to Lilo, and how he still kept trying to control her!
All the characters in this series are well fleshed out(even the antagonists). They all have their own pasts and desires that motivate them. The plot moved quickly and I finished the book in one sitting. I’m really excited for the rest of the books in the series and I can’t wait to see where the author takes the story and the characters!
P.S. I think the next book is Wyatt’s and I’m very curious to know in which direction his story will go.
Title: Greed
Author: Lana Pecherczyk
Genre: Contemporary Romance Fantasy
**RECEIVED ARC FOR HONEST REVIEW**
I am in love with the Seven Deadlies. Start with the prequel novella then Envy…read in order. This is the only way to truly appreciate, enjoy, and understand the mysterious Syndicate, the Sisters who are Nuns but assassins, all the science, and most of all…the pure depth of humanity and emotions these genetically engineered heroes that embody sin.
The author takes you on a rollercoaster ride of emotion with each character. The book is chalked full of symbolism. From names, i.e. Griffin = Greed (the first letter indicates what their sin is), to nightclubs designed to represent Dante’s Inferno.
This series is awesome. It has science fiction, fantasy, romance, action, mystery, you name it. This series brings it all to you. I hope the author keeps the momentum going with the next book.
Overall rating: 5
Saying epic is just not doing this series justice! Action packed, this well written storyline kept me at the edge of my seat flipping pages endlessly. I truly appreciate the clash of personalities between targeted couples, and reading to discover what their futures may become, well….it’s a winner for me. Griffin by far has some strong traits than truly could be more negative than positive if he so chose to be. LILO cemented me in and kept me in suspense. The deadly sevens are a series I know I will reread a few times! All my reviews are always voluntarily written.
I couldn’t put this book down. Lana has given us another well-written, enjoyable tale of the “Deadly Seven”. Book 2, Greed moves smoothly into place behind “Envy” book 1. Picking up with Grace’s friend Lilo Likeke, a reporter for the Cardinal Copy, who also happens to be Griffin Lazarus’ (Greed) mate. Greed moves at a smooth fast pace with the right amount of suspense and no wasted words. Griffin’s interactions with his family are intense but kind of distant. Griffin and Lilo both have a lot of emotional baggage that they need to work through in order to have a relationship. I finished Greed rather quickly and had to read it again. I can’t wait for the next installment. It’s like waiting for the next season of your favorite TV series. I can’t wait to find out which brother is next. I highly recommend this book and this series. I received a free copy of this book for an honest review
I loved this book so much that it has given me a serious book hangover. Now, where am I going to find something as epic as this? Since I have read and loved the previous two books in the series, I already love the characters. They are all amazing and I enjoy how Lazarus siblings interact with each other. Lilo Likeke is one of the new characters introduced in this book. She is perfect mate for Griffin Lazarus. These two really compliment each other and the chemistry between them is off the charts hot. So, the romance side of the side is as good as the action side of it.
Griffin Lazarus embodies the sin of greed. He is the only one of his siblings who has learned to control himself in order to keep a balance between greed and generosity. He cannot depend on something as uncertain as finding a mate because things get ugly when people like him lose control. The abilities they have are a curse and Griffin needs to be in control.
Lilo Likeke hates controlling men. It seems that Griffin is just like every other man who thinks he can control women. But she refuses to be controlled. He will have to learn to accept that or she is done. She is a reporter to whom nothing matters more than the truth. Learning about the Deadly Seven is something she has always looked forward to. She wants to be the one who reveals their true identities and their real motives behind their actions. Unfortunately, she is soon going to realize that reality is far worse than a comic book and danger surrounding them is very much real.
Lilo and Griffin and both fighting battles both external and internal. But can they trust each other completely or is it too much of a risk?
I can’t wait to see what this series has in store for us next. I’m sure it will be something just as amazing as this.
