Dragon shifter Edra has always lived to serve and protect—in ages past as a knight, and in the modern world as a mytho liaison to the San Francisco PD. Behind the scenes he safeguards the mythos community from scandal—and further human hatred. When the eggs of a rare greater dragon are stolen, Edra must find and return them before the mother razes the city.Edra’s partner, Jordan, has just been … just been promoted, and he’s on the trail of several stolen mythos artifacts. Together, they track the eggs to a colony of mermaids living in the bay near Alcatraz Island.
But trying to separate a mermaid from her treasure is asking for trouble.
As Edra and Jordan grow closer, they test the bounds of human-mythos relationships. But Jordan isn’t ready to mate for life, and Edra won’t pretend to be human for Jordan’s friends. With the hills on fire and a storm brewing in the bay—and in their bed—something’s got to give.

Thank you for the ARC read, I voluntarily give this book an honest review. The job of a mytho liaison was never easy but dealing with the psycho merfolk? So much to do so little time in a day. Yeah, I understand Dr. Lew was just elected, and human/mytho relations was hit hard but until policing policies are enforced nothing will change.
When a fire is started, was it the dragons trying to save their nest from mythos or humans was yet to be known. Jordan already had his hands full with other crimes and as the on Mythos SID with the exception of Edra. They was both worried about the mating, only each had their own fears to overcome. The slow build-up to finally bond link, is torturous on Jordan but will the payday be worth the wait? In the mean time they have a sword to found and missing eggs..right?!? Right! Will Edra win over Sinner or will they ever be at odds over their human?
Oh, I liked Carly in the first book but when she shows her feeling, ugh now she has some ground to make up in apology to Edra! Is it just me or does this new mayor need to whole new unit besides just one lone detective.
Edra and Jordan adventure continue with a new case that involves mytho and human crimes, the stealing of dragons eggs. They also have to a relationship in progress that is full of hardships, prejudices and miscommunication.
It’s hard for them to find balance between their professional life and the personal one when all seems against it, and it can affect your job.
Their courtship is bittersweet, with ups and downs, they have to learn to trust in each other, to know their priorities and to know what they really want to find happiness.
It was an interesting read and I’m looking forward to see what happens next.

Edra and Jordan have a new case. Someone is stealing mythos’ artefacts and selling them to humans. They will have to investigate while dealing with the collateral damage, especially for the mythos’ community. But Edra and Jordan also have their relationship to discuss. Are they going to mate? A human and a dragon having a mating can be more dangerous for them than any crimes they can encounter.
Greed and Other Dangers by TJ Nichols is book 2 in the Mythos series. I adored this book.
Edra and Jordan are trying to find their footing together. As cops working together, one for mythos the other for humans, but also as soon to be mate …or not.
Edra had a mate in his world before the collapse, so he knows the pain of losing a mate. He knows what it is to have his other half taken away from you, but he also understands the huge gift that the fates give to him with his second mate. That’s why Edra doesn’t want to rush things between him and Jordan. First, he wants Jordan being clean of Bliss, and second, he wants to be sure that his mate, his human mate, understands what mating a dragon means.
Jordan wants Edra. He wants him in his bed and in his life, but he doesn’t know how. First, he’s addicted to Bliss, he can’t deny it anymore. And even if he accepts his addiction, he’s not ready to stop it and to get help at first. Second, Jordan is human, so what it is to be a mate to a dragon is what scares him more. Finally, what about his friends, colleagues and other humans? A human and a dragon together in this tense relationship between mythos and humans—it’s not only their hearts at stake but also their life in the literal sense.
I loved this book, no I adored it, more than the first one. If book 1 sets the background, this book is more about the characters, their relationship, their pasts, their fears and their hope. The relationship between Jordan and Edra is intense, beautiful, and we can say taboo in a world where mythos isn’t considered equal to human. I loved them. I loved how they both try to fit into each other’s world even if it’s difficult. I loved how despite their fears, they try with everything to be what the other expects.
The author did great with world-building, how mythos and humans live together, how mythos tries to keep magic and traditions out of the human eyes. I loved the little “history” facts about mermaids, dragons, and vampires. It was added well into the story that makes it more credible and realistic.
The writing was more mature—the author knew where she wants to take us, and she did it brilliantly with a captivating story and little touches of humour that I appreciated.
I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
It’s 4 stars for Edra and his “wingless”.

Greed and Other Dangers (Mytho #2) by T.J. Nichols

I absolutely LOVED this!
Greed and Other Dangers is an incredible continuation of the story begun in Lust and Other Drugs. The Mythos series is shaping up to be another fantastic story from T.J. Nichol’s imagination. Full of magic, mystery, and desire, it’s a combination of all great things in the paranormal world.
The book begins with the same Prologue as Book 1 – setting up the world for anyone who has spent some time since reading the first book. It also gives a Previously chapter, which lets readers catch up, before delving back into this complex and clever worldbuilding. I loved that they were included, but I didn’t require either as I binged straight from Book 1 into Book 2.
After book 1, I was already madly in love with Jordan and Edra, but this book cemented them in my heart. Their adventures within the Mythos community, and their budding relationship with each other, were nothing short of engaging and endearing. Their sizzling relationship offered constant twists and turns, at times sweet and at times sinful, it’s everything you could hope for.
I was surprised to see Carly’s prejudices, but unsurprised by Ardel’s caution and wariness. The continuation of the mermaid plot and the reminder of the satyr plotline from Book 1 both made sure that this felt like a true continuation. The exploration of the greater dragons was a really nice touch, as was Sinner’s change of attitude. I have to admit, I’m intrigued if Lyo survived the collapse afterall, as it would be perfect timing for him to pop-up again now that Edra is mated again. I can’t wait to see how that part of their lives pans out and whether Lyo’s memory (or the dragon himself) will appear later.
The exploration of Jordan’s addiction to Bliss was excellently handled. The conflict, the stress, and the way that it potentially compromised his relationship with Edra was so nicely explored that I never felt off-footed or disinterested. I loved seeing them fight their way through the problem, try to find solutions, and actually talk about their problems. So many books use the miscommunication or misunderstanding aspect as a way to separate a couple or offer angst, but this book kept to the character’s personalities and made sure they showed the maturity and care for their relationship that brought them together to talk it out. They both tried to find solutions, at every way through their relationship, even before there was one.
I love that the two books can be binge read and feel like one solid book, rather than various issues of the same series. Not many authors can manage to do that, but T.J. Nichols proved themselves capable of this when I first read the Studies in Demonology series. I’m now secure in knowing that I can pick up any of their books and never fail to be engaged and captivated.
Though each book contains a complete storyline, I love that each and every one is connected and continues on from the next, crafting a true series. And I’m beyond thrilled that there is another book to come. I can’t wait to read more from Jordan and Edra.
Greed and Other Dangers is a five-star riot of magic, mystery, and romance that gets your pulse racing, your hands sweating, and leaves you craving more. Like Bliss it creeps under your skin and brings nothing but pleasure. I can’t wait for the next book, and to get these in paperback, to join the Studies in Demonology trilogy already on my shelf.
