4 star review of Grayson’s Dilemma by Marcia Carrington
I love single dad stories and Grayson’s Dilemma was an enjoyable read. Having lost his wife during childbirth Grayson is protective of his daughter Mara. When Mara nearly drowns she is saved by the mysterious Jenna and in gratitude he invites Jenna to stay on his property in a guest house., however his mother in law Evelyn is not happy at all.
There is so much mystery surrounding Jenna and Grayson is concerned that danger may well be brought to their door now that he has hired her to be Mara’s nanny.
This is a story of loss and overcoming one’s past and finally looking to the future with hope, it is emotional and well written.
A single dad with an adorably sweet little girl and a lonely woman with secrets who comes to their rescue. The chemistry is there and little Mara is crazy about Jenna, but will Jenna’s secrets be too big for Grayson? The story is fast paced with a good mix of romance and suspense. I did guess Jenna’s secret, or at least the gist of it fairly early, but the story still held my interest as I waited to see how Evelyn would handle a new relationship while still grieving the loss of her daughter. This one is emotional, but I liked how things are wrapped up all the way around for this family. All in all, another quick, entertaining read from this author.
Grayson March, a widower, and his young daughter, Mara, are walking along the pier, when the accident happens.
Mara falls off the pier and even before Grayson can react, a young woman jumps in the water and pulls Mara to safety.
For several days, both Grayson and Mara can’t get Jenna’s courageous act out of their minds. Once they finally track her down, Grayson is appalled by where she lives. She obviously needs some financial assistance, as well as a decent, safer, place to live.
Literally steam-rolling over her objections, Grayson and Mara take her with them … he has a guest house that would be perfect for her. Looking around, Jenna can’t believe how lucky she is … not only has this generous man given her a place to live, he also has hired her to be a nanny of sorts for his daughter.
The only drawback is Grayson’s mother-in-law who lives with them. Evelyn takes an instant dislike of Jenna, much to Grayson’s dismay.
Does Evelyn know something that he doesn’t? Evelyn is usually a fair minded person, so why does she feel that Grayson is making a huge mistake into bringing this young woman into their lives?
