The Inferno has Evolved… Lana Harvey is a reaper, and a lousy one at that. She resides in Limbo City, the modern capital of the collective afterlives, where she likes to stick it to the man (the legendary Grim Reaper himself) by harvesting the bare minimum of souls required of her. She’d much rather be hanging out with Gabriel, her favorite archangel, at Purgatory Lounge. But when a shocking … promotion falls in her lap, Lana learns something that could unravel the very fabric of Eternity. If the job isn’t completed, there could be some real hell to pay.

This was a fun read. The characters are fun and interesting if a bit shallow.
The storyline was different in an unpredictable way. Kept my interest from beginning to end. The writer was very imaginative made you feel this could happen.
I didn’t expect to like this one but I sure did. I admit I almost stopped after a couple of chapters, then I suddenly got involved with the main character and the story took off. I thoroughly enjoyed Lana, the main character. She and I sometimes have the same feelings about our lives, just leave me alone and stop changing things! Ha!
Note, I hate …
Having a mental picture of Athena running a boutique in a busy metropolis and gossiping happily away with Artemis and Hades would have done the trick for me. But a god formerly known as the one responsible for weather practising his lost skills (“An old god, trying to relearn all the tricks he’d forgotten.”) and jokes like this won me over for the …
Loved the Afterlife way of life and alternate names relating to death
Loved this series. After death done right.
Could not get into this book at all. Don’t know how I ever chose it. Just not my genre, I think. Sorry!
A truly fun read
Light reading and somewhat entertaining. Wasn’t quite my fit. I don’t know what it was just not to my taste.
I loved this book so much I recommended it to my book club. One friend subsequently bought every book in the series. Great read, very entertaining and original with amazing (after)world building. Highly recommend!
Original story line that’s witty and entertaining, but it abruptly ends.
I enjoyed the unique “world”? the reapers live in, the places they take souls to, and the angels and others they deal with along the way. Fun and interesting.
I just didn’t think it was very interesting. I tried to like it, but I couldn’t finish it.
Fun, easy read, creative, fantasy.
interesting premise, boring execution
Great premise
Boring!
the book ended and I was still waiting for the story or characters to be developed
It was a fun book to read, but it is only half a book … not sure if I enjoyed it enough to buy the other half. I might just do that, if I run out of other books to read.
Slow start , unnecessary explanation of relations to characters and just when the story gets going and makes sense it ends! Characters are good once story gets started.
