My sisters and I weren’t born with magic. No, we were forced into it. Betrayed into it by the one person who was supposed to protect us. Now we’re living in a shithole desert town at the mercy of a sexy-as-hell Fae named Bastian. So far, I’ve been able to buy Violet and Jade time to live freely, without being held to Bastian’s constant call. I’ve been doing his dirty work for five long years, but … years, but my sisters’ freedom is wearing thin. Soon, he’ll summon them, just as he did me—and I can’t let that happen.
Bastian’s latest assignment offers an escape for my sisters, and I’d be a fool not to take it. But my target is more powerful than any man I’ve faced before and doubly seductive. He draws out my inner demons—literally—and evading this attraction might prove more difficult than finishing what I started.

Gravestones and Wicked Bones is Book 1 in the Shadow Creatures series. As always Authors Miers and Knox have hit a homerun with this book and what a first this is. They have created a fabulous plot with strong relatable characters. I loved the interaction and beginning relationship between Ivy (our bad and kick a$$ heroine) and Dante (the half-demon she needs blood from) as their chemistry was explosive with plenty of sparks flying. I am looking forward to the next in series and intrigued to see where Miers and Knox will take us next. If you want a read with action, mystery, seduction, romance, magic and powerful characters, this is the book for you. I highly recommend this and any book by these two exceptional authors. Received a copy and this is my voluntary and honest review.
This is the start of a series, and as a voracious reader of urban fantasy, I was well captivated by this story. Ivy is a kick-ass heroine that was basically a human until her mother traded her daughters for power to a powerful fae, Bastian – who remade them with magic and powers of their own. And now Ivy is under his command, to keep her sisters safe, she will have to do as Bastian commands. But when she is sent out to retrieve a vial of blood from a part demon, Dante – the story takes some twists and turns. Although it starts out pretty typical of this genre, the authors do a good job with some extra twists. The chemistry between all the characters is well done and you will even be captivated by the over confident Bastian eventually.
I wish there was a better understanding on what Ivy’s full powers are and how Bastian “made her”- it’s just barely touched on and is never completely flushed out in this book, I’m hoping it will be in future books which I do intend to read.

I really liked the premise of this series and it has started well, Ivy is the eldest of 3 sisters and tries to protect them after their selfish mother makes a deal with a Fae called Bastian and leaves the 3 sisters no longer human yet not supernatural. Bastian wants to send Ivy on another errand to get something from someone he thinks only she can get close to so uses it to her advantage and makes a deal with him for her sisters. I really feel for Ivy with being torn between what seems to be the right things to do as well as wanting to protect her sisters then having to rely on strangers to be there when she needs them when she does decide to do the right thing. This has some wicked sexual attraction, double crossing, mystery and intrigue and the fact that Dante is gruff and sexy doesn’t hurt at all! I loved the fact that we don’t know what actually happened to the sisters to make them what they are and the fact we only really know what Ivy is but not her sisters. Also whats up with Dante’s friends and the potential attraction to one of the sisters that is developing, I hope we find out more about all of them as well as their past including Bastian as there seems to be a lot more going on.
