Anyone who adores dark fantasy, horror, and paranormal suspense is going to love Graveminder, a hauntingly atmospheric tale of the walking dead — and the living who are charged with keeping them at rest — from Melissa Marr, the New York Times bestselling author of the Wicked Lovely series. A young woman returns to the rural small town of her adolescence only to discover it is cursed ground … it is cursed ground bordering the land of the dead in this spectacularly imagined supernatural tale that will appeal to fans of Charlaine Harris, Joe Hill, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Neil Gaiman, and Carol Goodman.

I think the concept for this one looks really cool, but I just checked out some reviews and they seem middling. I’m still going to at least start the sample (the ultimate deciding factor), but has anyone read this one?
There is something to be said for a purposeful slow build, and Melissa Marr does it masterfully in Graveminder. It’s a beautiful blend of self-discovery, family drama, light romance, and the supernatural.
…and I always want to read Gothics when it gets sticky outside. My version of a beach read?
I enjoyed this book with its original premise and I would recommend it to others. One caveat – way too much “the woman doth protest too much” and too often. The love interest would have been fine without the Rebekkah love protest.
I loved this gothic horror. Rebekkah is an awesome character. I loved the town. The story was so cool and unique. I would recommend this one.
I loved this book! It was an original twist to controlling the undead in a small town. Without a graveminder, things can get out of hand. Such an awesome storyline. Can’t wait to read more.
I really love the concept of this book, but the story itself is a bit lacking. I couldn’t put it down at first and didn’t want it ever to end, then there was a point that I just wanted it to be over. The characters were decent, but come of the dialog was a bit off. I can’t quite put my finger on it though.
Can’t wait to read next book!
This was a fun read. I enjoyed the characters and the concept. Would actually like to see a sequel.
Loveable characters, interesting plot premise
Interesting and certainly original and full of twists and turns.
Unique story. Hard to put down.
obviously forgettable but good enough to finish…I read it about two weeks ago and could not tell you what it’s about
I liked the ending it was unexpected
I thought that I was going to be reading a Supernatural/fantasy book. Instead, I got a flimsy romance novel with an extremely specious premise that could have been resolved by chapter 2 if the heroine had an ounce of sense.
That was a real shame, too, because it was well-written. As a result, the book came off as being a bit of a cop-out from …
