Introducing a new romantic suspense series from New York Times bestselling author Skye Jordan.Forced into early retirement, former black ops operator, Ian Heller, has a couple of choices-playing security guard to an entitled hip-hop mogul or working for the civilian counterpart of his elite military unit, Manhunters, Inc. Tasked with terminating a cell of counterfeiters, who open the door to a … door to a fresh wave of terrorists, Ian must get close to the ex-wife of a key suspect. Sparks ignite between them, but Ian knows crossing the line with this woman would be the last thing he needs on his first assignment with his new team.
Savannah Bishop is trapped. Her ex-husband, the sheriff of Hazard County, Montana, runs his department the same way he tried to control his marriage-with intimidation and force. With her divorce final, Savannah can her taste freedom-until she is hit with a custody suit. Desperate to escape the daily harassment and hold onto her young son, Savannah accepts help from the only man in town willing to defy her ex. But when she discovers Ian is as much a chameleon as her ex, Savannah’s hopes for both a new love and a fresh start are threatened.

Savannah lives in a little town in Montana with her son and works as a waitress. She’s trying to divorce her abusive husband, Hank the sheriff. No one in town will help because of the Bishop mining company and the hold the Bishop’s have on them. She has deputies watching her house and causing her all kinds of trouble. Ian moves in next door and he is part of a group of people called the Manhunters. They are looking at the Bishop’s for murder, counterfeiting passports for terrorists. He doesn’t expect to fall for Savannah and her son. First they think she’s in with them but quickly realizes she may have the evidence they need. I loved Savannah, Ian, and, Jamison the son. Heart pounding action and suspense. Sex. And crazy ex and in laws. Can’t wait to read about the rest of the team. This is a new series by Skye Jordan and it was fantastic.

Get ready to have this book suck you in from page 1 and take you on the ride of a lifetime, all without leaving your chair. I don’t quite know where to begin, without giving away any spoilers, so I’ll just tell you about how the characters grabbed me from the start. Savannah Bishop and her son definitely touched my heart. They are in a tough position as her almost ex-husband is a controlling, intimidating power-hungry sheriff (of the town where they all live) and he and his father make her/their life a living hell. Enter Ian Heller. He is working undercover to help break up a ring of counterfeiters in the same county. When he meets Savannah and her son? He cannot just stand by and watch the intimidation and abuse. The scenes where Savannah’s son bonds with him are adorable, definitely a lighter touch to the story.
Some of the story will make you feel like you are right there and you will fight right alongside of Savannah and Ian. I can guarantee that you will be cheering for them, too. I read Grave Secrets straight thru and couldn’t it put it down. Very good read that will take turns making you laugh, sniffle, and shout at the characters. Whew!
Skye Jordan’s first romantic suspense, I believe, and it is bang-on. The plot was fast-moving with a few surprising twists that kept me hooked – I didn’t want to put it down! Savannah and Zane were together and the secondary characters were interesting too. Excellent start to a new series – I’m looking forward to reading the others’ stories!
This author’s work always pulls me in at the first word and doesn’t let me go until the book is finished, and this book is no different.
While reading this, I found myself holding my breath, waiting to see what happened next. I loved Savannah and little Jamieson. And Ian? Wow, loved him, too.
I loved meeting the Manhunters’ team and look forward to hearing more of them.
No Remorse (A Manhunters Novel) by Skye Jordan and Joan Swan. This is Everly Shaw and Austin Hex’s story.
I loved the characters and was hooked from the beginning to the end. A fantastic romantic suspense. This story will keep you guessing on who can be trusted. The chemistry was so hot between Everly and Austin with so many twists.
FYI, contains mature content. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
** spoiler alert ** After leaving the military, Ian became part of a group, determined to take down the bad guys. Savannah Bishop has spent the last couple of years trying to escape her abusive ex. The town of Hazard is riddled with crime. Can they work towards their common goal? Will Savannah forgive him when she finds out the truth?
LOVED this book! I did think that Ian had plenty of opportunities to tell her the truth, BUT in reality the time span wasn’t much. I loved how strong Savannah was and how determined she was to do what it took to protect her son. Great read!
Heart pounding, sexy, suspenseful. Savannah is an amazing single Mom and her son Jamison is a sweetheart. Sadly, her ex-husband is the town sheriff and is a controlling jerk that works to put up as many roadblocks keeping her stuck in Hazard. Zane arrives undercover to solve a mystery which involves the sheriff. He connects with Savannah and Jamison and as he works his case, he finds his heart is being pulled to them which muddy the waters of what he needs to do. The mystery is intense and full of unexpected twists and turns which kept me guessing and gut twisting. Loved the crew of Manhunters as they work together and show amazing teamwork and friendship during dangerous work. Excited to experience more from this crew.
Excellent read by Skye Jordan
4.5*
Grave Secrets is the action packed, suspenseful, and exciting first book in Skye Jordan’s new Manhunters series. And because it is Skye Jordan, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention sexy, too! If this book is any indication of what’s to come, Manhunters just might be my new favorite series of hers.
From the opening scene until the very last word Ms. Jordan held me captive. Ian and the rest of the Manhunters crew got more than they bargained for when they landed in Hazard County, Montana to take down a group of counterfeiters, who turned out to be so much worse. I loved the mystery and intrigue of this story, and how I never knew what was going to happen next. The budding romance between Ian and Savannah added another dimension to the story, considering Savannah’s ex-husband was one of the main players in the counterfeit ring. Romance is the last thing Ian was looking for when he took this job, especially with him not knowing if Savannah could be trusted or not. But the chemistry between them made it difficult for Ian to keep his distance. Add in a sweet little boy and Ian found himself not only having to take down the bad guys, but navigating unfamiliar territory where he’s having to protect those he cares about.
I really enjoyed every facet of this book. The story was perfectly paced and entertaining, the characters fully developed and compelling, and it left me wanting to know more about the rest of the Manhunters. I definitely think Ms. Jordan has a winner of a series on her hands with this group of characters.
Skye Jordan’s new suspense series, Manhunters, starts with a bang in Grave Secrets. Once again, Jordan has created complex characters thrust into complicated situations. Her world building is amazing. She creates beautifully damaged characters, then puts them in situations that, instead of breaking them completely, brings out the best.
Ian Heller was forced into retirement. With limited options, he’s convinced to join the civilian version of the black ops Manhunters unit he was a part of. Hey, it has to be better playing babysitter to hip-hop stars and divas, right? When his team is sent to Montana to track down a ring of counterfeiter, they didn’t realize how big the impacts were to terrorism.
Savannah Bishop just wants out with her son. Like so many, her relationship started out one place, and slowly morphed into something she didn’t want, as she changed into someone she never expected. It’s a slippery slope, and the changes come so slightly, it’s easy to find yourself in place you never thought you’d be. Add in her ex-husband is the Hazard County Sheriff and his dad’s money and influence run the county, and its no wonder Savannah can’t escape. Heck, she’s lucky to even have a friend in Misty.
Ian wants Savannah from the moment he sees her at the diner, even though he fights it. Savannah doesn’t think anyone will ever stand up to her ex and his father, so there’s no chance. In fact, they play a game, To the Moon, ready to run if it’s ever needed.
Jordan has created a cast of characters that I’m dying to learn more about. Her twists and turns in Grave Secrets will keep you guessing, even when you think you know what’s going to happen next!
