It’s never a good combo to be broke and desperate. You do stupid things. Like accidentally sign your soul over to Hell. When I interviewed for a new security job, I didn’t bat an eye that it was for a literal graveyard shift…headstones and all. I mean, at the hourly rate they were offering, who cares? I got this.Turns out, I’m not guarding a graveyard like I thought. It seems I’ve just walked my … I’ve just walked my broke ass into protecting a Gate to Hell. Yeah…I don’t got this.
Now I’m stuck in a terrifying new reality: a group of hot demons who act like I can solve all their problems, and a battle between good, evil, and balance.
This will seriously teach me to read the fine print on Help Wanted ads. Good thing this job comes with a scythe. Maybe I can use it to stop them from dragging my ass into Hell.

I loved this book!
The heroine was awesome and bad a**. The heros were hot, possessive, and fan-freakin-tastic. The world building was wonderful. The storyline was great.
I’d totally recommend this book!
I loved this book, it was an exciting premise and I wasn’t disapointed as I started listening, the characters were amazing although it took me a while to warm up to Delta, she was a bit too whiney for my taste, but plenty of action and some great plot twists, and boy was it steamy – I had to wipe my glasses off!
As good the second time around
Am listening to Grave Mistakes the for the second time in a few months, and it is as good as before. A story written with intelligence and wit, perfectly setup with interesting worldbuilding and plenty of ideas, put forward in such a way that it never lets the reader/listener down and holds the interest from beginning to the end.
There are times when I wish the story wasn´t set up as a harem story, not that that part isn´t good on it´s own, but these authors are just that good. Their story could stand on it´s own feet without it, and maybe get more recognition? But also then we would miss on the harem part, so feel free to ignore me there. I absolutely love all the characters in the book, so bad bad idea. Thoroughly enjoyable listen, love how the authors handle their text, characters, worldbuilding and plots. And while I love a good story, I enjoy a well written story even more. This one is all that.
Amazing! Sassy main character and awesome storytelling! Grave Mistakes is an awesome ride and I live the characters and the storyline so much! Definitely my new favorite!
I loved this book there wasn’t anything here that I didn’t like and from the instant, I picked this up I was transfixed and found myself constantly laughing out loud throughout. this has such a vein of humour running through it as well as numerous pop culture references that I totally appreciated.
This is the first book in a series and it’s paranormal reverse harem. Delta Gates the heroine was such a unique character with such a sarcastic relatable persona I bloody loved her and her inner monologue she was definitely one of a kind.
Down on her luck, she takes a job that seems too good to be true and without reading the small print plunging her into a whole new paranormal world when she discovers she’s actually a Demon and instead of the security job guarding a private graveyard she was expecting she’s actually been hired to guard an actual gate from hell.
Her new employers are all Demons and they are gate guardians but with the gate in question failing and Delta being more powerful than they had originally realised they want her for a fifth they just need to discover just what power ring she’s from and that requires a trip to hell which Delta is so not on board with.
So the demons are Rafferty or iceman he’s blue with horns and runs cool in temperature he’s the ultimate boss man and he definitely has a protective soft spot for Delta.
Then we have Echo pale with white buzzed hair and shadow tattoos he’s mischievous and naughty and a massive flirt and makes his interest known straight away.
Crux looks like a surfer dude and is incredibly sweet and protective he also has a very unique tongue. Finally, Jerif is the asshole of the group he’s snarky and bad-tempered delighting in insulting Delta at every turn but he’s still strangely possessive at the same time.
Initially, Delta wants nothing to do with being a gate guardian she’s in freak out mode burying her head in the sand until she really just can’t anymore and has to put on her big girl pants and deal.
This had plenty of chemistry and it cranked up the tension beautifully keeping the intensity sizzling all the way through. This also ended on a cliffhanger and oh my it was a heart in throat one I have all my fingers and toes crossed that a certain someone is going to be all right. I will definitely be picking up the next one in the series.
This was well written and extremely enjoyable this is a collaboration and it’s the first thing I’ve read by either of these authors and got to say I’m impressed I will definitely be checking out both their back catalogues in the future.
I’m excited to see where this goes next and I totally recommend this it was way better than anticipated.

5 stars for Grave Mistakes by Ivy Asher and Raven Kennedy. This is book one in the Hellgate Guardians series. I absolutely loved this story and can not wait for more. Delta needs a job, she answers an ad and she should have read the fineprint. She is guarding a date to Hell. Oh Yeah, and apparently she is a demon. Delta is everything I love in a heroine. She is who I wanna be when I grow up! “I may be an orphan, Sean, but I’m pretty sure you’re a f***ing failed abortion.” I mean come on, how funny is that. She is hilarious. Ivy Asher and Raven Kennedy are terrific writers separately but combined they are epic. This has hot demons, a funny and witty heroine, and suspense. I loved every second of it. Just a warning it ends in a cliffhanger.
OH.MY.GODS this book is absolutely hilarious!!!! At one point I snorted so loudly that I almost startled my dog out of her skin. Of course that made me laugh more.
These two authors are definitely a dreamteam. The story flows beautifully and you can’t guess what author us writing at the moment. The guys are drool worthy and HOT!!! Our mc Delta is hilarious, not good with change and rides a moped like a bada** b*tch!
There’s a cliffhanger that normally would have made me throw a 4y/o tantrum, but since this series is rapid release then it doesn’t kill me. I can’t wait to start book two.
If you haven’t read these authors before, then you have been missing out and need to rectify that immediately!!!! Go forth and one-click…
“For the broke bitches. May you find hot demons at the end of your struggle”
You know you’re reading an Asher & Kennedy co-write when you are laughing at the dedication! Every single time they team up they KILL IT. The only Grave Mistake here is not reading this book immediately. Grave Mistakes is clever, funny, heartbreaking and real. Well, as real as a literal job from Hell can be, but you’ll see what I mean when you read this. I laughed, I cried, and at times I wanted to junk punch fictional characters.
Delta Gates is a down on her luck 28 year old struggling to stay afloat financially when a too good to be true Help Wanted ad grabs her attention. I loved that she is cautious in her acceptance of all the Hell-ish things that she comes to learn in this book. She isn’t a gullible, go along with anything, kind of lady. She is used to the two steps forward one step back game of life and she uses all those life lessons to armor herself. This book lays a great foundation for the series in terms of characters. Some of them I liked, some of them I didn’t, but in the end I’m keeping my fingers crossed that Delta gets her HEA from Hell!
All Delta did was respond to a help wanted ad…how was she supposed to know her whole life was about to change. Not too far into the story the reader knows something here is clearly not as it seems, granted the cover and blurb should have cued those thoughts to begin with. We follow Delta down a chuckle-worthy path of misunderstanding until the rug gets ripped right for under her and her whole world shifted. She handles it in an understandable and even plausible, but not an admirable way. As a reader she doesn’t respond in a way that inspires and makes us put her on a pedestal for stepping up despite the adversity to get past the obstacles standing in her way. I did think it was absolutely a realistic response to everything she had been told, though I felt it went on too long in the book to fully find her behaviour acceptable. In the end she gives into everything she’s been dodging since her first night on the job which adds a level of realism to a fantasy-type situation creating the feeling she really is just like any of us because behaviour and fear isn’t easy to change/overcome.
Bloody brilliant!!!
As of this writing, I have LOVED everything that Raven Kennedy and/or Ivy Asher have released. Their minds concoct worlds that have captured me and characters that have enthralled me. Writing together?? SIGN ME UP!
This book slaps onto the page with verve and relatable humor, introducing Delta and her unlucky situation in a way that draws you into the story with delicate talent – and fist to the face wit. She’s just this side of dangerous and just that side of snarky – added together, it makes for a well rounded foundation that carries this tale from beginning to end, especially after she meets the illusive ‘owners’ of the graveyard gate she is meant to be guarding.
I think one of the things I enjoyed most about Delta was her personal honesty. She’s a bad@ss, yes…. but she doesn’t really KNOW that, and her fear speaks loudly in the quiet of her mind. She has flaws and foibles like the rest of us, and this narrative doesn’t shy away from that truth. It makes her more approachable than many FMC’s in PNR stories, offering her a sense of ‘realness’, even if there are moments you might want to smack her.
Exciting, original and wonderfully concocted, this is a gem – and with the rapid release, you can dive into the entire tale right now!

I absolutely loved this book and had a hard time putting it down. It is a perfect mixture of humor, action and sexiness. That cliffhanger was absolutely crazy! I can’t wait to read the next book.
Laugh out loud funny one minute, crying your eyes out the next …love all the book and movie references: Bella Swan, Katniss Everdeen, house elves, inner Elsa, Jabba, Triwizard Tournament
And the ending…thank goodness the next one comes out in two weeks!
Delta is fierce, fun, and all around awesome. She has job hunting, and finds an ad for a security office, that is too good to be true. I love how she explains away the weirdness before she realizes the truth. The guys are awesome, smoking, and a little baffled as to how to deal with Delta. There are parts that made me laugh out loud, and parts that made me hurt for Delta. The ending is explosive and I’m hoping June 22 comes fast because I need to know what happens next
