Be careful what you reap. You might fall in love with her…One act of mercy before dying was all it took to turn soldier David Anderson into a reaper—an immortal who guides souls-of-untimely-death into the afterlife. But the closer he gets to atoning for his mortal sin and finally escaping merciless Fate, the more he feels his own humanity slipping away for good. Until he encounters Sarah … Sarah Griffith. This skeptical scientist can’t be influenced by his powers—even though she has an unsuspected talent for sensing the dead. Her honesty and irreverent sense of humor reignite his reason for living—and a passion he can’t afford to feel. Now Fate has summoned David to make a devastating last harvest. He’ll break every hellishly-strict netherworld rule to save Sarah…and gamble on a choice even an immortal can’t win.

fun to read w/a good plot & story
I didn’t really know what to expect with this plot. I decided to give it a try since I like the author. I have to say I really enjoyed this book. It had a great romance, wonderful characters and a sweet ending. The author had 2 endings done, I do prefer the one in this version.
The ending blew me away! Didn’t expect that. Great book!
Great book. The original ending was placed after the book, and it made more sense than the one the author was forced to use by the original publisher. Awesome read either way.
I love this book. Reading the story from the Reaper’s point of view was amazing.Grave Intentions was fun and full of information and history.
Reminded me of the old movie “Death Takes a Holiday” but the reaper has some unique twists, and the end has a fun, unexpected conclusion. Liked the characters and you can really feel their anguish. Worth a look.
I did not know what to expect out of this book but it was completely fantastic. I loved the characters, even the supporting ones; I loved the romance; and even though I am 99% sure I ugly-cried, I loved the ending. I cannot wait to read the others in this series.
Good Book. It is a series but this book has an ending. It seems each book stands alone. Worth reading, I like anything with a happy ending. 🙂
Really fun to read.
An original twist on reapers! This hero (David) has his work cut out for him as a reaper. The author doesn’t make it easy for him in any way, which made the character and story so realistic. I’m a sucker for a story with humor in it too and Lori delivers. The heroine (Sarah) is the perfect level-headed balance to the mix. The characters don’t …
This was an enjoyable read! It’s an interesting concept, but not as exciting as I would have hoped.
Its ok had a happy ending
This one caught me by surprise because it is not a subject I ever thought of from this angle. I found some of it a little morbid, but the main characters were very well done and the impact of events on each of them was something to think about if you ever did think of a Reaper with emotions.
The writing was fine. The story engaging.
But three big problems spoiled it for me.
The underlying morality (lack thereof) really bugged me. There seemed no consistent ethics that determined what was going on. And really — if the only reason you become a reaper is that you are deemed (by unknown entities) “redeemable?” The obvious implication …
I can see why the publishers wouldn’t have published the alternative ending. Suicide is not a HEA even if the love of your life is the grim reaper.
took a long time to get to the point, otherwise enjoyrf it alot
