Funny, mysterious and very good. You will fall in love with the main character and her cohorts.
A thoroughly enjoyable book. A comfortable, relaxing read with Reverend Annabelle using her knowledge of her parishioners to solve the murder of a local garage owner and some strange goings on in the village. An enthralling yet simple mystery with an outcome that we should all take note of and put into practice. Oh and there’s the added bonus of a few recipes at the end too. Looking forward to reading the next in the series.
Wonderful cozy mystery; I loved it! There is a murder in Upton St. Mary and a mysterious activity going on that all the men of the village seem to be involved with. And there’s even a lovely touch of romance. This is my favorite Reverend Annabelle Dixon book so far.

Suspenseful and action packed involving a few twist, puppies, and some surprises. As Reverend Annabelle laments the reduction in church funds and her friendship with Inspector Mike deepens, Phillia’s matchmaking escalates, and the village of Upton ST. Mary experiences another murder as well as a secret gambling ring.
Horror in the Highlands:
5 stars
I have purchased a copy of The Reverend Annabelle Dixon Cozy Mysteries Book 5: Horror in the Highlands by Alison Golden and this review was given freely.
Vivid descriptions, an eclectic group of colorful characters, and a series of oddities and mysteries fill the pages of this cozy mystery where Reverend Annabelle visits her brother Roger and niece Bonnie on the island of Blodraigh, Scotland where she finds herself having to solve the murder of pub owner Harry Anderson without the help of the police while isolated on a small island in the midst of a severe storm. Things escalate when a chance email results in a surprise visit from Inspector Mike.
This is a fun series.
I loved it! This is a must read series! I can’t wait for the next book!
Grave In The Garage is a terrific cozy mystery. I love Annabelle and Detective Nicholls. I’m anxious to see what happens with them next. The puppy was adorable! She will make a great “police dog”. Philippa is quite a character!! There were plenty of twists and turns to keep me guessing and hold my attention. The humor is a perfect addition to a murder mystery. I really enjoy English mysteries because things are so different from here in the US. I love the slower pace of life in small English towns. The two surprises at the end of the book were a wonderful way to wrap things up after the murder had been solved. I highly recommend reading the Reverend Annabelle Dixon Mystery Series.
This is my favorite so far in this cozy fun mystery. I just love the portrayal of the vicar in this small english town. It makes me want to live in a small town like Upton St. Mary. Reverend Annabelle Dixon is delightful and brings this small town so much with her kindness. She has even managed to crack the hard shell of Inspector Michael Nicholls. On to the next book in the series.
In “Grave in the Garage”, Book 4 of the “Reverend Annabelle” series, we meet Vicar Annabelle Dixon, her secretary Mildred, and Police Inspector Mike Nicholls once again. We are in Upton St. Mary in Cornwall, England where Annabelle is the church vicar. Annabelle is very attached to her Mini Cooper car and relies on it to take her from place to place. Suddenly, it sputters several times and then it stops. She gets a ride to her local garage and calls out to the owner of the garage Mildred and her workers Ted Lovesey and Aziz Malik. No one responds to her calls. She searches the garage and finds Mildred in the well under a parked car. She discovers that Mildred is dead. Annabelle walks to the nearest pub and sees Inspector Nicholls having lunch there. She tells him what she has seen in the garage and the search for a murderer begins. Vicar Annabelle is always concerned about the people in her village and wants to help the Inspector. He tells her it is police work but she insists on helping anyway. She and the Inspector appear to enjoy each other’s company and this may be the beginning of a romantic relationship. They do find out what happened to Ted and Aziz, and who the murderer is. I really enjoyed the book and was surprised at learning who killed Mildred and why the person did so.
Reverend Annabelle Dixon’s amateur sleuthing skills ( as well as mine) are put to the test once more in author Alison Golden’s fourth book from her Reverend Annabelle Dixon Cozy Mystery Series.
I liked the book however I did find that the underlying plot of which the story was based upon very weak in my opinion. The whole “We couldn’t stop. They wouldn’t let us stop.” scenario just didn’t ring authentic as presented. Hence the 4 star rating.
