I LOVE “Love Inspired Suspense” books because they are easy and short to read, filled with great characters and suspense, and free from bad language and bedroom scenes. I have read other books by this author so I was really excited to read this one, especially a holiday story!
From the first chapter this story kept me on the edge of my seat and engaged with the characters and story line. Taya doesn’t know who to trust especially undercover ATF agent Keegan; but when they have to keep running for their lives, she’s forced to rely on him to keep her alive. As the story unfolds, more questions arise and the danger continue to escalate.
I highly recommend this clean, Christian romantic suspense that will keep you guessing to the very end and keep you reading long into the night.
I received a copy of this book complimentary for blog and social media review. All opinions are my own.
4.5 stars
If you enjoy intelligent, determined heroines, strong but kind-hearted heroes and a plot that is filled impossible situations and intense action, then you should pick up Grave Christmas Secrets by Sharee Stover.
Upon first meeting, Taya and Keegan don’t trust each other but as they run from danger, escape unimaginable circumstances, and share a little about themselves, their opinions change These characters bring out the best in each other, and I connected with them from the start.
Stover gives readers a plot that isn’t easy to unravel (a good thing in a romantic suspense) with many enemies, constant questions, and the possibility of betrayal. While the attraction between Taya and Keegan grows quickly, it’s believable with the conversations and emotional connections they have.
Disclosure statement: I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book and was not required to write a positive review. All opinions are my own.
The cover alone can give you chills but when the first line of a book is “Three can keep a secret if two of them are dead”, you can be sure that there’s suspense ahead and Grave Christmas Secrets certainly delivers! Forensic anthropologist Taya McGill’s life centers around finding ancient remains so her discovery of RECENT human remains is both shocking and life-threatening. Suddenly, she is a hunted person and she doesn’t know who to trust as she tries to find the answers that will save her life. Can she trust an undercover ATF agent or is he actually someone that she needs to fear?
Realistic characters, non-stop action, and twists and turns make this a story that kept me fully invested and the romantic tension between Taya and Keegan Stryker left me wanting more. Can Taya overcome her trust issues? Will Keegan admit that his intense dedication to his job is his way of avoiding personal commitment?
Stover is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors of romantic suspense and this book certainly didn’t disappoint. If you are looking for an adrenaline rush, a heart tug, and a faith enhancer, you will want to read Grave Christmas Secrets.
I received a copy of this book from the author and publisher. There was no obligation for a favorable review. These are my own thoughts.
This small book packs a punch! It is nonstop action and full of mystery. One of my favorite parts of this story was the Forensic Analysis and ATF aspects. I found that very interesting and intriguing. The characters are also well developed and enjoyable. The relationship between the hero and heroine was quite believable and well written! I really enjoyed this story!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.
If you love edge of your seat suspense, you will love this book! Grave Christmas Secrets by Sharee Stover is a definite must read. From the first page, I couldn’t put the book down.
Taya McGill is a forensic anthropologist. I loved this job occupation for the heroine. It was different, and there were enough details in the story for me to picture what she does. Before Taya can preserve the body she’s found, she is attacked and on the run. Keegan Stryker is an undercover ATF agent. He steps up to protect Taya while trying to figure out what is going on and who’s behind the attack. Even in the midst of trouble, God’s message shines through. The characters’ struggles made them realistic. Taya struggles with her fear and trust. Keegan struggles with failing to protect. I love reading books where I can feel my faith grow as I read.
My favorite line in the story is: If you need anything, call. I’ll be here before the cops are.
Sharee Stover has done it again. Another awesome suspense. Be prepared to be swept away!
If you enjoy Christian romantic suspense, you will love this story! The action is fast-paced, the suspense will keep you guessing, and the ending is oh so satisfying!
I received a free copy in the hope that I would mention/review it on my blog. I was not required to give a positive review, only my honest opinion – which I’ve done. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own and I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
I became intrigued with this story from the very first sentence: “Three can keep a secret if two of them are dead.”
From that point on, this story is tension-filled and suspenseful as Dr. Taya McGill, a forensic anthropologist, makes a discovery that will have her fleeing from the killers who have buried a murder victim in the park. Officer Keegan is intent on protecting Taya and bring the drug ring to justice. But Taya will need all of her courage, tenacity, and resourcefulness as they work together to escape the danger and bring the murderers to justice.
Taya McGill is the star of this story. I loved her fierce, yet compassionate, personality. She’s been hurt, and that gives her issues with trust, but her faith is the key to helping her through a terrifying situation.
As with all Love Inspired stories, the romance in this book is sweet and clean. There’s much to admire in both Taya and Keegan and the way they rely on their faith during a difficult time. This is another great book by Sharee Stover, and I’m already looking forward to reading her next book.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
One of Sharee Stovers best! i found the book interesting as well as suspenseful! The nonstop action , suspense, faith and strong characters made for a great read!
This was quite an exciting read! Sharee crafts stories that keep the reader entertained while trying to solve the mystery and this book fits that bill perfectly. Taya and Keegan are fun characters and I enjoyed being a part of them trying to catch the bad guys that are tracking them. Very fun read!
I received this book from the author and was not required to post a positive review. All thoughts are my own.
A terrific fast paced suspense story. The two main characters are wonderful, and as usual for this author the secondary characters are just as fun…except there are several that can’t be trusted. Question is -who can be trusted and who cannot. Take a thrilling ride through the storyline to find who can be trusted, whose who they say they are, and what conclusions will be reached. The author does a nice job of making the faith theme intrinsic to the story, and keeping the reader engaged to the very end.
I received this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
“Taya halted, the realization as apparent as the handsome man in front of her. She’d follow Keegan Stryker anywhere.”
Grave Christmas Secrets is a riveting read that is littered with constant danger, offers hope, and gives us two great characters to cheer for.
The forensic anthropologist heroine, Taya McGill, is one you’re going to remember for a long time. Even though she excels at her intellect job, inwardly she’s scared and makes a few mistakes when it comes to tackling the bad guys. By the end of the story, she a real save-the-day-kick-butt heroine.
High on my recommend list!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author and was not required to write a positive review. All opinions are my own.
This is the second Sharee Stover novel that I’ve read, and this one is even better than the first.
I liked the pacing of this–the action kept coming. There was very little “down time” but there wasn’t so much action that there weren’t sweet little moments between the two main characters either. The tension and anxiety kept getting higher and higher until the climax…and that twist at the end!!! Whew!
If you like light romance, suspense, and action all packaged in a nice, clean story, this one is for you.
If you love contemporary suspense, grab this book right away! I have read all of Sharee Stover’s books and loved them, but this one is her best yet!
I just loved reading about Taya McGill! She is a firecracker in a petite body. Very intelligent, yet has so much spunk. She was a victim of circumstance at Ashfall Fossil Beds where she was working. As ATF agent Keegan Stryker steps up to protect Taya and to solve who is behind a drug ring, the two of them start to depend on and trust each other more and more. There is a lot of suspense action in this story, but not too much to make it unbelievable.
As a Nebraska native myself, I adore reading books that set place here! I’ve been to Ashfall and could vividly picture every single setting that was described on the pages of this book! You won’t be disappointed by this gripping story. I received an ARC of this book from the author. All opinions in this review are my own.
Page-turning excitement! I suggest you read Grave Christmas Secrets with bright lights turned on!
Author Sharee Stover has written another amazing romantic suspense! The pages fly, the excitement builds, and the romance entices. The heart-hammering action starts right at the beginning…..and DOES NOT STOP until the end!
Right from the opening scene, forensic anthropologist Dr. Taya McGill’s life is threatened. She’s alone at a remote site when she uncovers evidence of a crime. Undercover ATF agent Keegan Stryker is trying to hide his identity from ruthless criminals, but feels compelled to help this intriguing woman escape from these desperate killers.
I liked the intensifying chase scenes, the escalating danger, and the constant threats hidden everywhere. Those surprising moments gave me chills. Trying to figure out the true villains kept me guessing. And Keegan! What a hero! A brave, compassionate man who is called to protect others. *Sigh*
Did I mention I’m now hungry for kolaches? Raspberry, anyone? Every story needs a good bakery. *smile*
Author Sharee Stover is a favorite author. I’m delighted she has written another thrilling romantic suspense. If you like non-stop action with sweet falling-in-love moments, you won’t be disappointed in Grave Christmas Secrets…..a heart-pounding, exciting novel!
Favorite quote: “Your comment coincides with something I recently read in my Bible study about thinking on good, worthy things.” “Philippians 4:8?”
*I received a copy of this book with no requirement to write a positive review. I’m offering my honest opinion.
“A chill slithered down his neck. He rushed to the foyer and his foot collided with something soft, tripping him. Keegan stumbled into the wall to keep from falling, then turned and inspected the large form.”
It is days before Christmas and cold in Nebraska. Taya McGill is a forensic anthropologist working on remains found in Ashfall Fossil State Park. Only these remains are not ancient and someone is after her. Armed with her wits and prayer, Taya does not know who to trust. Even Keegan Stryker, who says he is undercover law enforcement.
This story has a unique and interesting plot that keeps you on your toes and guessing. I read it waaaaay into the night. The romance was quick but cautious and believable. The faith element was evident in the lives of the protagonists. A plus for me was the abandoned school with an outside tubular fire escape, very much like my first grade school. Cool stuff!
If you want an exciting story that has plenty of action do not miss Grave Christmas Secrets.
* I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher on behalf of the author. I was not required to give a favorable review. All opinions are my own.*
Dr. Taya McGill is an Forensic Anthropologist and is called to excavate the human remains that have been found in the prehistoric park. While she is excavating the bones she finds a video camera that shows a woman and 2 men. She can’t help but to wonder if they had something to do with her lying in this grave.
When UC ATF Agent Keagan Stryker realizes that Dr. McGill has become the target of Skull, a local arms dealer, he makes the decision to help her get to safety. He can’t lose someone else on his watch. He is pretty sure that Dr. McGill is taking care of his partner who has been missing for some time.
I received an ARC and have thoroughly enjoyed this book. Thank you Sharee Stover for allowing we to be apart of your AR group.
Suspense lovers, please take note, this book is one roaring “whodunnit.” Sharee Stover has a knack for writing identifiable characters, seamless romance blended into an airtight plot, and just enough chills to keep you turning the pages late into the night.
After you start reading, make sure to set the timer on your coffeepot for the next morning. You can’t put down this book once you crack it open. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. It’s a gripping read!
I received this book from the publisher but was under no obligation to post nor write a review.
Sharee Stover once again brings us another sit on the edge of your seat suspense!
I was all in from the first page!
Made my evening go by too quick and now it is 4 am!
Wow! I didn’t realize it was so late but my this book was so good!
I loved leaning new things from Taya McGill. Her occupation fascinated me. Only I could never do that sort of job. That’s why I admired Taya and people that are like her in real life too.
For some reason I kept wanting to call her Tanya. I do that sometimes.
Here is a favorite quote from the book and I use it to remind myself when life gets hard or stressful.
“I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.”
Yes we can!
I highly recommend this book. Stover is an excellent storyteller and she can definitely keep you spellbound.
Authors like her has made me fall in love with suspense books! Suspense books are awesome!
I’m very sad when they come to an end. I want more please!
You will be thinking about Keegan and Taya even after the book ends. I know I am.
My thanks for a copy of this book.

“Three can keep a secret if two of them are dead. Forensic anthropologist Taya McGill disagreed with Benjamin Franklin’s famous quote. In her experience, the dead were horrible secret keepers.”
Get ready for the start to the holiday season! Author Sharee Stover’s latest Love Inspired Suspense novel, Grave Christmas Secrets, takes readers on a whirlwind ride filled with unexpected twists and turns. Right before Christmas, forensic anthropologist Taya McGill discovers a buried body and must depend on undercover ATF agent Keegan Stryker to keep them both safe from the killer.
As in her previous books, Sharee Stover shocked me with who the culprit was. I did not see it coming! The epilogue was the perfect ending to the story, and I am so glad that she included it. Once I started reading, I could not put this book down! Along with the wonderful romantic suspense tale, the author also shares the message that God is always with us. Grave Christmas Secrets is recommended for fans of inspirational romantic suspense.

‘Lord, blame weights down a heart and blinds our eyes.’
Taya McGill, a forensic anthropologist, has uncovered a body and minutes later finds herself the target of a killer. She is now on the run with an undercover ATF agent. Keegan Stryker has to figure out how to keep Taya safe as well as himself before they are both silenced by ruthless killers.
Sharee Stover once again brings her readers a non-stop, action filled story. I was all in from the first and read it in less than a day. I love stories that include criminal justice and forensics and this one fit the bill perfectly. Now I’m sad I’ve finished it. Great suspense. Recommended.
*My thanks to the publisher and author for a copy of this book. I was not compensated in any way and the opinion in this review is entirely my own.
Neither trusts easily, but it’s that or die..
Sharee Stover is quickly becoming one of my favorite Love Inspired Suspense authors and Grave Christmas Secrets is a good example as to why. The story starts off with a mysterious body found buried in an unexpected place and from there on in it’s a wild ride of danger, suspense, betrayal, and romance.
I had a hard time putting down Grave Christmas Secrets, I just HAD to know what Sharee Stover was going to put her characters through next!
