Thought provoking, reminiscent of old-school SciFi.
I read this book years ago and was floored by it’s originality. It just shocked me and I haven’t forgotten that. Itis a quality that is very hard to find. So I obviously had to purchase an ebook to replace my lost paperback.
Not the typical Science Fiction novel. Well written, the wording is very descriptive, and visual. This story has good flow, not rushed, with the events leading to the next, unpredictable, but without the jerkiness of lesser stories. This was an entertaining book. I’d say it was about a 4.5 star (I always round up) due to a little bit of awkwardness in dialogue and character development, but mostly I really enjoyed it.
Very hard to read. The characters are too precious for me to believe. The world is unlikely at best. I have not finished; I put it down because I grew extremely bored. I might come back to it, but I have now lost the plot thread.

I really liked the main character and loved the creative world building, but the thing I liked best about Grass was that it stayed with me for days after reading it while I pondered and digested thoughts brought into the light of consciousness. There is so much here to think about within an interesting story: relationships, ecology, religion, …
