Depressingly Beautiful. This book is a little dark and twisted. The FMC is Layla “Lala”. She has had a horrible childhood and life. She has been abused by everyone in her life that is supposed to be there to love and protect her. She is forced to move to and attend school in the Grape Vine gang’s territory. When she starts school she meets Acen. He is the leader of the GV gang. This book is a dark high school bully romance. If you like to take a walk on the dark side and don’t mind it twisted then I recommend you give this book a try.

This book is a bully book and is different than any I have read by Erin Trejo. I really liked it. There are many twist and turns that keep you interested and guessing what happens next. Even and Layla sharw a strong connection and I enjoyed their story. I really felt bad for the life that Layla has lived though.

I’ve read most everything that Erin writes and this was no exception. Very different from her MC books, but I loved it. Can’t wait for the next installment.
WOW ! I mean just WOW !! I’ve read a couple books by Erin, as she’s a new author to me, but this one here is definitely RAW EMOTIONS !! This book, although bully, was phenomenally written. I wanted to kick a$$ and take names, cry and rejoice right along with them. The sad part is…this actually happens in these types of neighborhoods. The women are just abused and used in any way they can be. And with that I can’t express how much I liked this book. HIGHLY RECOMMEND !!

Erin Trejo writes different type of books.
This one is a tad dark.
A lot of emotions (love, hate, suspicion and surprise).
Erin never disappoints her readers in whatever she writes.

I loved the story of Layla and Acen. A very different story, but very good.
It’s a sad story with a lot of emotion in it.
I recommend this book!
I am a HUGE Erin Trejo fan. With that said, I didn’t expect to like this book, but I really did.
The story takes place in a poor neighborhood run by gangs. It’s dark, gritty, and sad. I would have given more stars but the ending felt rushed to me. I wanted more, I wanted to see certain players in the game get what they deserved.
3 1/2 stars

This book is a little dark, a little twisted and a lot perfect. I had varying feelings on this book. At times I hated the male characters in this book and adored Layla. This book gives you a lot of different emotions like hate, love and surprise. I was worried how it would end and once again the author didn’t fail me with a perfect ending.

I just can’t with her! Erin always writes the books I just can’t put down. I have to know what happens. I loved this book and can’t wait for the next one!!!
I always know when her books come out that I’m in for a long night of reading, because I can’t put them down. Ace/Lala, what a great hate turn to love story with many twists. Can’t wait for the next book.

There are some very dark themes in this book so take the warning seriously.
I’m not sure why but I had pages missing. Major gaps in the story, I’m not sure if that’s how it was written or if I just missed the pages but I was missing scenes from the book. Important ones too. Like what happened at the jail, then there was one where they were at school mid conversation and the next page they were yelling at her about where she went (it was a walk I believe) and just missing pieces to the story. From what I did read, it was good but I was just missing so much by the time it was halfway that I was just lost. I also didn’t really, truly, connect with any of the characters. I was just someone reading about the world instead of living in it with the characters.
Overall: 3/5

Grape Vine Crew, I am new to Bully Books but this has a dark nature that is right up my alley. Acen and Layla are full of hard hitting rawness that leaves you torn with being completely broken and enthusiastic for the next twist of the knife to the gut. Definitely a must read.
Holythis book is amazing! These characters are raw, passionate, intense, you basically get the best of both worlds, you got mayhem, suspense and best of all you got a love that’s borderline crazy with these two. Amazingly done Erin Trejo, you didn’t disappoint at all.!
Another amazing story from this author! As always this book was impossible to put down. Clear your schedule because you will no be able to put it down until the end of the book. Irecommend that you read this book you will not be disappointed. Can’t wait to read more from this author.
Thank you for your review.
This was amazing!!! I loved this and all characters included! She created these characters full of hot, alpha males and kick*ss, feisty females and this amazing storyline with angsty, deep, soul-burning plots.
It was deliciously dark and I cannot recommend it highly enough and hope she will write books for the other characters soon!
**spoiler alert ** Grape Vine Crew is a Bully Romance that packs a punch of pure dark and gritty, with a storyline that gives you a workout. You start out thinking you are reading an average Bully story, and then realize everything is not nearly what it seems. This is an entertaining read that definitely keeps you on your toes, I only wish the ending was not so abrupt. I felt like it wrapped up a little to quickly after the rest of the book. Otherwise, a great read! 4 Gritty Stars!
Emotionally I was a goner –
The interactions between our characters
The darkness of their realities
The plot – The cast was five blazing stars
Just wish there had been more meat to it
Scenes with life-changing events we only got glimpses of
Twists that were only hinted at
A finale that left me needing more
Maybe I am greedy but I wanted – needed – more
Layla was just a bit touched – Not that it can be held against her She was a survivor
She knew when to step back – knew that sometimes giving ground during a skirmish can result in your advancement
So many times I wanted to reach in and comfort her to let her know everything would be okay –
I would be lying but hope is such a strong emotion
Ace … so blinded by your own fears
You above all should have seen –
The evidence was right there
Bright as the noonday sun
But you feasted on her pain didn’t you?
Why step up when it was a never-ending buffet of sorrow?
I had a hard time reading this book, I felt like it had jumped around to much and some things didnt make sense. The storyline of the book was good it just seemed to be all over the place. I loved Layla as she was badass and didnt take anyone’s shit. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Wow! I don’t normally read high school or new adult books, but having read many of Erin Trejo’s books before I decided to try this one. I was pleasantly surprised and there were many times that I forgot how young the characters were considering the very adult situations in the book.
Without giving spoilers, this book is dark, has lots of twists and turns, contains strong characters and is completely heartbreaking at times.
3.5 starts Too Many Holes for Me
This book was a slow starter for me. While readingIt, I did not feel a smooth transition of events, things felts like they were constantly jumping. The biggest issue I had with this book was there were so many holes in the story. One for example without giving too much away, holes like why was she out side kicking the ball? What happened after she kicked the ball and it hit the guy in the head from the guys POV? Why did they drop questioning her about it so quickly? There were many more but I do want to give away any potential spoilers. I am hoping there will be another book that will answer and resolve all the unanswered items. The story line had potential and I thought it was original it, unfortunately I just it didn’t live up to its potential.

I really loved this book, it’s full of adventure and the characters are written really well. Loved the Shifters involved and the story was great. I give it four stars as I found the characters needed more dynamic but that doesn’t change that I really loved the plot and ideas put into this book. Great start!
