Grape Vine Crew

Erin rocked it again with Grape Vine Crew and in a whole new genre too! Branching out into bully romance, Erin manages to suck you into while weaving a story that will both break your heart and make you cheer. Acen is our hero, but as with all bully romances, I hated him at first. Layla is our heroine. She’s just moved into the school and has had a horrible life up to this point. At first Acen and his crew set up to make life hell for Layla. She isn’t as affected as you would think she would be due to her past. There are so many surprises in this story that you will never see coming that I reread it a few times to make sure I caught everything. I love that the story keeps you on your toes.

Ok. I had a hard time reading this book. The characters “roared” A LOT. Like every other sentence out of their mouths was “roared”…..even when it wasn’t needed. There are so many !s, it makes it seem like everything is being screamed. I feel like there were gaps in the conversations. Like they didn’t flow well. One minute the character is mad and the next they’re fine. It just doesn’t make sense to me. The whole thing is just juvenile.

That being said, I do think the plot was good. I see were the author wanted to go.

This is MY opinion. I really do hope who ever reads my review won’t let it affect their decision & will still give this book a chance. Just because it’s not my cup of tea, doesn’t mean it won’t be someone else’s. Which is obvious by all the 5 star reviews.

Oh man, Erin Trejo has out done herself yet again with this one. This is one of those stories you won’t be able to put down until the very end.

Some of us are dealt a crappie hand in life then others. One where we feel like we can never move past or that constantly seems rough and that’s exactly how Layla feels. She feels like everything she does goes wrong, even the one thing she thought she got right.

Wow, I can’t believe that I have already finished this book. I was so fantastic that I couldn’t put it dow. The only time that I wasn’t reading was the three hours that I was driving. This book, Grape Vine Crew was great. It’s about a crew of guys that run the school and it seems the town as well. The crew is made up of Acen, Brody, Cato, and Fox. Acen’s sister is Clarissa and she has friended the new girl in school, Layla (Lala as per the GV Crew). Acen tries to rattle Layla right off the bat, but she stands up to him. The Crew tries to figure Lala out but there isn’t enough information forthcoming and Layla wants it to stay that way. Acen and Lala somehow start to become a little closer but then things start to spin out of control and it’s questionable if things can stay the same or if Layla will just drop out of sight. This book was so good and I really believe if you would pick up a copy and read it for yourself you will be thanking me for recommending it to you.

Woah – What an outstanding book. This is a new genre for Ms. Trejo and believe me when I say she nailed it. It hooked me and I didn’t let go until the very end. The storyline revolves around the Grape Vine Crew and the 4 guys that basically run the streets. Nothing happens that they don’t know about or sanction. When a new girl, Layla, comes to town she is instantly scrutized. Is she in or is she out?

Layla is one tough cookie. Her past has made her what she. She doesn’t take anything off anyone and she sure isn’t going to take it off 4 guys that seem to think they are going to run her life. Ace is the leader of the crew and what he says goes, no matter what. That causes Layla and Ace to butt heads right off the bat. He doesn’t like Layla but he’s drawn to her. Ace senses she’s hiding something and he’s out to find out what it is. As secrets are revealed trouble soon follows. Troubles that test everyone the GV crew knows that trust.

Kudos Ms. Trejo for a phenomenal start to the series. I can’t say enough about how intense, gut wrenching and thrilling this book is or how much I look forward to the 2nd book in the series. 2 Thumbs Up and 5 Stars for a book I Highly Recommend grabbing up asap. You won’t regret it.

I couldn’t put this book down. Layla is a tough-as-nails new girl. Acen and the rest of his crew decide who’s with the in crowd. Layla’s life is very screwed up and she is keeping secrets, especially from Acen. He has feelings for Layla, but won’t admit them, even to himself.

The story has a lot of anger, violence and angst, but pulls you in and spellbinds you. Another great read by Erin Trejo.

Wow! Erin has blown me away again! Gv for the win! Layla is a rough and tumbled girl raised in pure hell, living in pure hell. Set to get info to save her daughter when it goes wrong. Acen, brody, Cato, and fox running the crew but still living life never knew what was coming there way when Layla walked into class.
