A hilarious new mystery series from USA TODAY Bestselling Author Harper Lin!Barbara Gold, a retired CIA agent, is bored out of her skull in Cheerville, a sleepy town in New England—until a man is poisoned during a book club meeting for seniors. Everyone thinks Lucien had a heart attack, but from his symptoms, Barbara knows someone has slipped poisoned into his cake or drink. Even though she is no … cake or drink. Even though she is no longer under cover, Barbara feels as if she’s only playing the part of a sweet grandmother, but this may just be her most useful cover yet.
The clock ticks as she investigates who in the Cheerville Active Readers’ Society would want Lucien dead. It’s only a matter of time before his death is declared murder and the police start hounding everyone.
Suddenly Barbara’s CIA training is useful again, and Cheerville is starting to seem not so dull after all…
Read the action-packed first book (30,000 words) in the Secret Agent Granny mystery series.

A fun read, great addition to mysteries.
I really enjoyed this book . The characters are fun, granny and her grandson have a normal relationship and they are amusing. Granny is depicted as a bored retiree, and that too is realistic . The story is such an enjoyable read that I was sorry when I finished it. I will definitely look for more books by this author.
I found the relationship that developed between the main character and her grandson to be the the best part of this book.
The story was a little short but intriguing
Enjoyed it. A short read, but fun.
Enjoyed very much
great book easy read
Fun mystery involving retired CUA operative now living in small town and being Granny. Enjoyable, light, some funny aspects.
I found this book very entertaining, action packed and amusing. It’s not often that one reads books featuring 70+ year old characters who are not dottering old fools. I loved the colloquialisms and wit featured amongst the characters. I look forward to reading the next book in this series
I really enjoyed this book. Frankly, it was a lot better than I’d expected. Granted, it’s hardly “high literature,” but it was thoroughly entertaining and not nearly as silly, or cliche’ as I’d feared it might be. The relationship between the main character and her grandson was fairly true to life – and there was even some useful guidance as to how an older relative could maintain a relationship with a gamer teen boy. I will be looking forward to the next in the series.
Very enjoyable book and series
Too short to really develop the main character.
Fun east read.
This was a short, quick read….not bad but not a very interesting storyline. The best part was the grandmother working on her relationship with her grandson.
Who wouldn’t think it was funny for a retired female CIA agent to be bored. I’d always heard secret agents didn’t live long enough to retire. I especially like the part when she goes to the firing range and blows all the men’s mind by hitting all eight rounds in the kill zone.
Very cute book! I enjoyed it very much!
Very funny cozy mystery.
My only complaint was that it was too short.
I like clean murder mysteries, no vulgar language, no sreamy sex. This granny was a lady I would like to know!
I was really wanting to like this book because I liked the premise. But it moved slowly and predictably. It didn’t flow smoothly either. I was disappointed and felt I’d wasted my time reading it. I doubt I will read any more by this author, free or not.
