A hilarious new mystery series from USA TODAY Bestselling Author Harper Lin!Barbara Gold, a retired CIA agent, is bored out of her skull in Cheerville, a sleepy town in New England—until a man is poisoned during a book club meeting for seniors. Everyone thinks Lucien had a heart attack, but from his symptoms, Barbara knows someone has slipped poisoned into his cake or drink. Even though she is no … cake or drink. Even though she is no longer under cover, Barbara feels as if she’s only playing the part of a sweet grandmother, but this may just be her most useful cover yet.
The clock ticks as she investigates who in the Cheerville Active Readers’ Society would want Lucien dead. It’s only a matter of time before his death is declared murder and the police start hounding everyone.
Suddenly Barbara’s CIA training is useful again, and Cheerville is starting to seem not so dull after all…
Read the action-packed first book (30,000 words) in the Secret Agent Granny mystery series.

Just a good quick book. Not deep or very interesting.
predictable. But fun to read.
I liked this book. It was easy to read and quite funny at times!! If you like cozy mysteries, I would recommend this.
Wasn’t as good as I hoped but I read it all.
Cute detective mystery with a young at heart, former CIA agent turned reluctant retiree
Action-packed for an old generation. Funny.
A little slow – and as a 72 yr old myself, I thought the ex-CIA lady of my age was waaay too old and crickity, especially given her background.
Very disappointed in this book.
Quick read and entertaining
This book was just okay. It was mildly interesting.
A 70 year old ex CIA agent this grandma isn’t afraid of anything. She had to admit that her age is catching up with her but she doesn’t let that slow her down. I’m on my 3rd Granny book now and looking forward to reading the whole series. Fun read!
Fun!!!
It’s probably more realistic health-wise than Mrs. Pollifax, but I liked Mrs. Pollifax more.
Like the idea/character but story could have been better
Boring and formulaic. I usually like this writers work but this one is lacking appeal.
easy reading entertaining
For the older crowd to enjoy how we are young at heart and mind but our bodies sometimes don’t seem to remember. Enjoy
Cute but ultimately unsatisfying because the characters weren’t well developed.
A nice cozy mystery to read on a chilly day. I like how the author made her main character retired CIA agent.
Shows the crazy potential of people due to personal feelings or unreasonable application of their capabilities with others.
