Murder always seems impossible at first. But the more clues you gather, the more things start to make sense. When secrets stretch back to the Revolutionary War, there’s a lot of detective work to do. Miss May and Chelsea are up for the challenge. Good thing, too. Because this investigation takes them deeper than ever before. Crime is everywhere. Bodies are piling up. Two guys are … piling up. Two guys are interested in Chelsea, and she can’t even handle one!
Can the girls solve the mystery before Pine Grove erupts in mayhem? And what’s going to happen with that love triangle?

love this book and the characters in it.
Hops from every new character to the next thinking they are the killer. I guess one could make a case out of anything, but this got tiresome. A good try to make main characters amusing.
A hard to put down, great summer read!
I liked these characters and enjoyed the story.
I read 40% of the book and gave up. There was too much filler and not enough action/plot.
Unpredictable who-don-it! Funny. You’ll a quick read.
I love this series. I’m never quite sure who the murderer is which is a welcomed change.
Cheesy.
Enjoyed the mystery and the way the characters worked through their suspects
DIDN’T LIKE CHARACTERS
save your money. I couldn’t finish it, which is not like me.
Didn’t care for the characters, a little too farcical for me
Seems odd how much time the main character and her aunt spend chasing around solving a mystery no one asked them to solve. How does their business stay open when they’re never home?
Love these mysteries by Chelsea.
This is another fun-to-read volume in an enjoyable series in a small town where you don’t want to move because someone is always getting murdered.
Follows the format of the series.
I did not care for this book. The characters were not well developed and were not interesting. I couldn’t wait for it to end.
I liked the descriptions of apple country and food but couldn’t really get into it otherwise.
Great read!
Granny Smith is Dead: Book 5
The characters in this book, and series, and so much fun. Most of the characters are a little over the top, but that makes the story so much more entertaining. The fact is this is just a case of good old fiction. An escape from the seriousness of reality. There are a couple of mysteries, a triangle of romance, a few red herrings, and a lot of drama in this well-written, fun, and easy read.
The Chelsea Thomas writing duo are very imaginative storytellers. I think using their pen name for the main character is cute. Naming the victim (who happened to be of a somewhat sour disposition and murdered at an apple orchard) “Granny Smith” is hilarious. In case you have never had the pleasure of eating a Granny Smith apple; it is very tart, to the point of being sour.
This book is perfect for those who enjoy an entertaining means of escape into the world of fiction.
