The galaxy has broken her in a way only I can fix.
I had thought my quest was at an end.
I waited for death.
But it was not to be.
he found me. And nursed me back.
Her name was Uri Hawk.
And I could see her broken smile.
Her sad gaze as she touched my scales.
I could sense her grief.
I determined right then that I would help this deeply traumatized woman.
I could do some good.
Even if it was … woman.
I could do some good.
Even if it was just for one person out of trillions in the galaxy.
I made her mine. And she made me hers.
So when the war came for us, as it does for everyone, we were ready.
Our love was our shield.
Our hope was our spear.
And then I saw.
A smile. Flicker over her face as she looked at me.
A sparkle in her eyes.
And I knew.
That the man who had set out to bring peace to the galaxy.
Had at last found it in himself.
Gorn is the fifth book in the Brides to Beasts series inside of the Athenaverse. It can be read as a standalone, but it still shares the same universe and characters that you’ve found in other books. This book features a romance of an alpha male alien warrior, and a human woman. No cheating, no cliffhangers, and HEA guaranteed

The action and romance a good plot for this sci-fi romance. This author does a great job developing the characters and giving them depth.

The plot was good but a little slower than the other
books in this series .
The characters seem just a little flat not the same depth
to them as the books before this one .
But still a good read.

I loved Gorn, these Vakutan men steal my heart each and every time. Here is a man who wants peace and is willing to use very unpeaceful means in order to achieve it. He ends up losing everything and crash landing on Jwoon III, a world with no affiliations and almost no inhabitants bar Uri who is trying to escape the pain of losing her twin brother and the Solaris, made up of many different races who want nothing more than to live a peaceful life away from the endless war that ravages the galaxy. Uri finds Gorn dehydrated and injured from his crash and takes him in. When danger comes calling Gorn saves her and the two discover a plot where the innocent Solaris are being slaughtered. What follows is a tale of danger, action, passion and emotion. It was lovely catching up with some of the characters from previous books and Gorn & Uri’s story fits in so well with the series as a whole. Two damaged people finding hope and healing in the midst of violence.

This is the 5th book in the series, but it can be read as a stead-alone. Gorn was a wanted criminal and ends up crash landing on Jwoon III. Uri saves him and nurses him back to health. He is preparing to leave but when he finds out she is in trouble and saves her. Can they save the nearby villagers nearby or will Gorn be taken to his crimes? Fast-paced read with lots of drama, steam, twists and turns and suspense. Entertaining sci-fi read with great world building and action packed. I really liked it.
Uri fled to the planet she was on because she was mourning the death of her brother and she wanted to be totally alone. Gorn crashed there while running from the alliance and she nursed him back to health and told him to leave. Then all heck broke loose. He came back to save her and they ended up helping to save the planet and it’s inhabitants from a cyborg trying to find the answer to immortality. Fun and exciting adventure

Gorn is a Vakutan, the most sought after “criminal” in the Galaxy. Both sides want to capture him and try him for his crimes against them. He kidnaps Vera from Zerberu while they are on vacation. His ship is destroyed and he barely makes it to the escape pod. It crash lands on the plant of Jwoon III. He is saved and treated by Uri, a human who moved to Jwoon III to morn for her dead twin brother. As he is leaving, a Baragon ship arrives and tries to buy her cabin and the land it’s on. She refused and they leave. Gorn knows they will return to kill her and take what they want. She refuses to go with him, so he picks her up and carries her to safety. The Baragon return shortly after Gorn finds safety and she watches as they burn her cabin and garden, so she will have nothing to return to. They go to find the nearest Solaris Village. The Solaris are a peaceful people that seek only peace and solitude. By the time they arrive the village has been destroyed and the people either killed or made into slaves. So they travel on to the next village farther away and try to warn them. They convince them they must prepare for the attack or be killed. In the mean time, a ship from Armstrong with Soldiers of Hope aboard with Dr. Daphne Moebius has crash landed on the planet, unable to leave because of the Baragon’s. They join with Gorn and Uri to try and prepare the Village. They also stumble upon Sergeant Vyber of the Barakus Academy with his two cadets Maru and Rez, who have crash landed on Jwoon III because of Maru’s miscalculations. They also are convinced to try and save the Sorasis. The first attack is thwarted with only a few casualties giving them time to prepare for the next attack. As they are preparing, Kleid, pet of Zylan from the Penetrators rolls into the village. Someone recognizes what it is and goes to find the ship in the hopes of them helping. The second attack comes and they manage to repel it with the help of Kleid, but with heavier casualties. Gorn decides the only chance of surviving is to kill the two leaders, Istran and Vurla. Of course he is captured and can’t escape. Uri decides to go and rescue him with Kleid, but stumbles across Zylan who had looking for Kleid. They go and rescue Gorn and bring him back to the village. Most of the crew from the Penetrator finally come to the Village and help to defeat the Baragon, but Istran and Vurla escape. Once they are dispatched, both sides try and arrest Gorn, but Uri convinces them to give him a chance to prove he is changed. Dr. Moebius offers him sanctuary on Armstrong and he and Uri are off to start a new life together.
Good fast-paced read full action, plot twists and romance. I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily.
War and even more war it’s everywhere.
This is a good book. Gorn is he a friend or an enemy. This story has sex and fighting. The characters have the same type of personality but mesh together surprisingly. These two get into some crazy situations. Lots of different aliens with grudges fight for the prize. I would recommend this book.
I read everything of Athena Storm and this story is another awesome book. Gorn is a Vakutan general fugitive who crashlands onto Jwoon III. Uri Hawk is grieving over the death of her twin brother and is just waiting to die. Gorn decides that her will fix her broken spirit with care and kindness. They will fight devious corporated alliances, action, adventure, danger, evil, and in all of this action love grows stronger between Gorn and Uri. Highly recommend. I usually love the books in this series but this one fell a little flat for me. Overall it was a good book but it dragged for me. I found myself skimming thru the pages and not really reading them. I would have liked to see less detail and more interaction between the characters. As always, she did a great job with the characters but I would have liked more from there. She definitely could have shortened this book and it would have been then been a great book for me. I am curious how the next books story line will go. I still look forward to reading more books from her.

A story of redemption and taking a chance when all seems bleak. I enjoyed the story of Gorn and Uri. Gorn was a war weary alien who ran from the authorities and crash landed into his destiny. And Uri was just existing until the day an alien strolled out of the woods into her heart. What an exciting book to read, great characters, interesting antagonist, lots of action and a HEA. I couldn’t have been happier.

A great sci-fi adventure. Athena Storm has done it again! This is a great sci-fi adventure that has it all! The storyline has action, adventure, intrigue and twists and turns with war and romance that will pull you. The characters are great as they show you that all comes together to have an outstanding story.

Book five in the Brides to Beasts series another great story in this series, once I started reading I was not putting the book down. Uri Hawk and Gorn’s story with suspense, drama, danger and romance. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Gorn and Uri are so unlikely that it works for me. I like that it takes a warrior who needs redemption to heal Uri”s grief over her brother’s death at Horus IV. And that he finds redemption through her to be a better man and in so doing fall in love. I also loved that they managed to bring in so many characters from the Athenaverse and bringing different sides working together (is there a moral here?). A little corny but sweet with a HEA.
Action packed plot with many twists to keep it entertaining. A definite page turner. Characters were multi layered and were well written. Engaging story with lots of suspense and drama.
