The galaxy has broken her in a way only I can fix.
I had thought my quest was at an end.
I waited for death.
But it was not to be.
he found me. And nursed me back.
Her name was Uri Hawk.
And I could see her broken smile.
Her sad gaze as she touched my scales.
I could sense her grief.
I determined right then that I would help this deeply traumatized woman.
I could do some good.
Even if it was … woman.
I could do some good.
Even if it was just for one person out of trillions in the galaxy.
I made her mine. And she made me hers.
So when the war came for us, as it does for everyone, we were ready.
Our love was our shield.
Our hope was our spear.
And then I saw.
A smile. Flicker over her face as she looked at me.
A sparkle in her eyes.
And I knew.
That the man who had set out to bring peace to the galaxy.
Had at last found it in himself.
Gorn is the fifth book in the Brides to Beasts series inside of the Athenaverse. It can be read as a standalone, but it still shares the same universe and characters that you’ve found in other books. This book features a romance of an alpha male alien warrior, and a human woman. No cheating, no cliffhangers, and HEA guaranteed

This is the 5th book in this series of Brides and beasts and I’m just as captivated by this as I was the first one. Gorn is a Vakutan General that just wants peace so to get that he kidnaps Vera from Zerberu and soon she is saved by her husband and his ship is destroyed but he escapes in a pod and crashes on Jwoon lll and is saved by a human female named Uri Hawk who lives in a cabin by herself. After waking up he talks with this female and she asks him to leave and continues to play her sad music and he knows within himself she has lost someone close to her and so he does what she has asked and leaves but then hears trouble coming her way and saves her, now the are searching for the Solaris race for help but they stumble upon one village being taken over by the same evil Baragon aliens that tried to kill her and making them slaves. Moving on to the next village they meet Dr Daphine Moebius from Armstrong that is also stuck on this planet and join together to save its people and with the help of Sergeant Vyber and the two cadets Maru and Rez that they meet along the way they all save the village and the planet but now they want to arrest Gorn for his crimes but Uri steps in to save him again saying he has changed and they are soon given sanctuary on Armstrong by Dr. Moebius where they can live a happy life together.
Another great read from athena. A fab new addition to the athenaverse.

This is a reunion of the sorts. It’s kinda nice reading all the previous characters interacting, fighting, arguing and cooperating in one book. They have a common enemy and there is a truth reveal at the end which may be a good for thought.

I could not wait to finally get to read Gorn’s story. I feel like these books are my personal happy and distraction drug. It is so good and hot. Gorn is a Vakutan and both sides want to capture him and try him for his crimes. He ends up kidnapping Vera from Zerberu while they are on vacation.
This was a well-written story about the Companion Program – Brides to Beasts Book 5 – and what each of these strong characters expect to get out of it. This story was intriguing as it had some very well-thought out scenes and story plots. These characters have very strong wills and personalities and butt heads constantly. This wonderful story has the following: intrigue, twists & turns, adventure, action, abduction, wide variety of races, humans, danger, defiance, compromises, love, steam and a HEA. I cannot wait to read more book in this Series. As Always I love Athena Storm’s Books.

Although not as fast paced as the other books in this series, the loveable and believable characters mixed with the emotional roller coaster of its story line make this a must read. A slightly more serious book with themes of redemption and forgiveness. Would recommend this book and it doesn’t need to be read as part of the series.

Gorn , Gorn, Gorn. He is, it seems always in trouble by one stroke of stupidly or another. Either way he is Vakutan. Another knucklehead who needs to be shown the way o this misdeeds and the good deeds he still has to do. After doing something stupid which seems to make sense at the time, he barely makes it out of the chaos to loss his memory or more common sense. I’m not sure which. Funny, he meets a traumatized human female who helps him through her shenanigans. She want as to be left alone. Well, with Gorn at least. Funny how both of them needs to come to their senses or lower their crazy in order to make matter. Loved it. Next book here I come !

Gorn is back! He and Uri (new girl, you’ll love her) barely escape death and hotfoot it to the Solaris settlement only to find that it’s been invaded. On foot, they make it over the mountains to the other Solaris camp where they meet up with some old friends. This is an exciting tale full of adventure, terror and humor. It will also make your heart hurt and bring tears. Great tale!
An unlikely hero… even of his own story…
Gorn is an unlikely hero… he has a good goal in mind, even in the very beginning when there is seemingly nothing heroic about him, but it is through his encounters with others that he begins to realize there are other, probably better, ways to strive towards his goal.
That Uri is broken, on the inside, in ways she isn’t even sure she wants to repair, becomes of minor concern when Gorn accidentally helps her find purpose, and in that purpose helps her to understand, from a totally different perspective, the things that broke her in the first place.
I loved the sense of humor of this story, the way it deals with loss and PTSD, and the growth Gorn goes through over the course of the book, as we watch him set aside his plot for the galaxy, in favor of repaying a small debt… and a world of possibilities opens up before him.

Another fast-paced and exciting read in the Athenaverse. General Gorn is looking for redemption and Uri is grieving the loss of her brother. Romance, battle action and characters from previous stories make for an enjoyable read.

I was super excited to read this one, because I can’t resist the charming madman who has good intentions, but is too far gone to see he’s he’s not really helping. Like a little hurt bird, you can’t help but want to fix him. Gorn’s madness is a culmination of personal tragedy and war, but it doesn’t take much more than a bump on the head to knock a bit of his sanity back in, and a pretty lady to ensure it stays there. Uri’s madness comes from personal tragedy, but hers causes he to withdrawal from the world, right into the path of a recovering madman, and an evil madman.
This was a great read, in terms of exciting story line, a tragic couple, the comical heroes, the devastation and rage (there will be tears), and the mythology. There is even a return back to incorporating more solid sci-fi elements into the story, and clever work arounds on part of the characters when a technology light community goes up against a technology obsessed villain. And to further delight, Kleid returns and finally gets to meet his Ataxian counterpart! Danger, plus a danger of cuteness overload!

Not Expecting Anything
Gorn is really not sure how to describe this character but there is something honorable at times about him. He loyal to those who are close to him but ruthless in other senses.
He was not expecting to fine Uri Hawk. She was a traumatized person who never expected to smile again…that is until Gorn.
Read this book and enjoy the interactions of two people that should not go together but do.

Action-Packed Story! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this action-packed sci-fi romance. If you like to read romance stories that feature humans and aliens, I guarantee you’ll enjoy reading each of Athena Storm’s books. I was able to read this book at one sitting as I absolutely couldn’t put this book down—I had to find out what would happen next as Uri and Gorn fight off attacks by the evil Baragon. I loved this book. The story of a galactic criminal and a depressed cellist who wind up together due to some crazy circumstances. Though they each fought the attraction, of course they fell hard. It was awesome the way characters from other Athenaverse stories appeared here and became temporary allies. Great read!
