A great beginning for a series.

Goofy Newfie’s was another great read by Ann Omasta. I loved reading this story of gorgeous newfies that wiggle their way into everyone’s hearts. This was a great quick read for anyone who loves animals. I can’t wait to read more by Ann Omasta.
Lily, a recent widow moves into a new place to start her new life.. Her neighbor’s dog keeps breaking in, and from there we meet Donovan, the Newfoundland puppies and an array of quirky characters. The dogs certainly wind their way into our hearts as this couple gets to know each other. Van had his hands full with Lily, but those dogs kept things light. Audra Cook gives a great performance as usual with her wonderful voices. A quick, fun listen!
Lilly’s struggle made me really think about how we often judge people based on what we think and/or how we would deal with things in our life. Can a passel of puppies bring not only love to Lilly but bring Lilly true love? Loved the narrator.
Story is light and easy to read.
I’m not sure quite what to call this book. It’s not what I usually expect from a romance since the relationship between the people was almost secondary in the story to the relationships with the pets. But, for anyone who’s ever been owned by a pet, that’s probably not surprising – our furry friends make all the decisions. Reading this book during the holiday season feel kind of appropriate. It has nothing to do with Christmas, but it has the feeling of redeeming the Grinch. Lily is a very Grinch-ly character at the beginning of the book. But once Van and the puppies are done with her, it’s easy to see how her heart’s grown several sizes.
Goofy Newfies #1- Warning this book will hurt you! It’s been awhile since I belly laughed my way through a book. Every page had me rolling on the floor till my sides ached. The storylines are cute and interesting. I liked all the characters, some were actually cute and interesting and furry; the humans were likable and nice to have as neighbors.
Of everyone had their own personalities, whether two or four legged. This is a sweet, clean, wholesome read and it’s perfect for a kids’ bedtime story. I luckily got to chain read the second book. Not only was it great to read a good humor and love filled story, but it was well edited. 5*
Itty Bitty Kitties #2 – This book is almost as funny as Goofy Newfies. There still are plenty of belly laughs, but there’s a touch of gravity with a couple of issues. We’re still in the same neighborhood, just next door and with two new, scratch that, eight new main characters. Again there are the interesting storylines, interesting characters with a variety of personalities, and interesting happenings that are only to be expected.
While this book would still work for a bedtime story, there are parts I would skip over depending on the ages of the kiddos. I contacted the author to review this book and received it through Booksprout. 5*
Absolute Must Read!!
This story made me laugh out loud so many times. Whether you are a pet loved it not, you will love this book! I also loved seeing a pic of the fur babies whom inspired it.
Sweet, clean, some humor, some tears, some joy, some sad, some of a lot of things. This was not easily defined as one single read in one single way. It was warm, cheerful, and more. There was something there that just stayed with you well after you left the book.
I enjoyed meeting all the characters both human (Lily) and non-human (Rascal, Ruby, Rowdy, Riley, Red, and Ripple). There was something about the faithful loving demeanor of the little (okay not so little) Newfoundland puppies.
My twelfth read from author Ann Omasta. After having read Aloha Baby & planning on reading the rest of the Escape Series books I found myself side-tracked by Goofy Newfies. Another, cozyish in nature, short entertaining and well-written read from her. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 – July 24, 2018).
