“There was no way I’d let myself feel so deeply for someone that I would risk the pain of losing them. I’ve lost enough. I didn’t want to feel that pain again. But walking away from Trey is going to rip me open.”
I. Loved. This. Story! I swear I ran through every emotion while reading this one! I felt the heartbreak, the hope, the sorrow, the joy – all of it!! I wanted to hug them both at times, and slap them both at times too!
Trey Hicks has been burned before. Getting a “Dear John” letter from your new wife only weeks into your deployment is enough to swear a man off love for good. But, now he’s in a pickle. His sister is getting married and he is walking her down the aisle. On the surface, not a problem. The problem lies in the bridal party – his ex-wife is his sister’s Maid of Honor. He needs a plus one for this wedding without all the strings and expectations. Someone he can have on his arm so his ex doesn’t know how badly she wrecked him when she divorced him. When Jane walks in to his tattoo shop and agrees to be his plus one, he figures he’s got it all figured out. But the more he spends time with her, the more he can’t keep his hands off her. But, they agreed to keep it casual while they pull off their fake relationship at the wedding. Fake. Right. How is he going to let her go when this is all done?
Jane Seymour knows all about loss and heartache. And all about being the one no one wants to keep. She dreams of the house with the white picket fence, the family dinners, the swing set in the backyard. But that is just not in the cards for her. She’ll stick to the one-night stands and scratching that itch. Now, Trey has asked her to be his fake girlfriend for his sister’s wedding – all to make his ex-wife jealous. Why not? It’s a free trip to the islands and she gets to spend time with the sexy tattoo artist. But when the lines between fake and real become blurred, how will she let him go if he chooses his ex-wife? Will she ever get her happy ever after too?
I just have one more thing to say – where is Trey’s shop, and when can he fit me in? Dang that man is sexy!!
Can Jane ever have the life she dreams about?
Trey needs a date to a wedding his ex will be at. He needs to show that he has moved on with his life even though he hasn’t. Jane agrees to be his fake girlfriend after all she gets a free beach holiday out of it. Jane doesn’t want any strings and neither does Trey. Seems like a match made in heaven. But what happens if one or both of them blur the lines between their arrangement. Can friends with benefits ever work out without heartache?
This is the second book in the Healing series and I love it as much as the first. Another great read and characters that we briefly met in the first book. So lovely that their story is told. Highly recommend!
Goodbye Trey was my first book by Audrey Ravine and since I can’t say no to fake relationship storylines, I had to read this. It was great.
Trey was a sweetheart and I my heart ached a little for him. Love is to him is a four letter word after his ex did a number on his heart and he isn’t looking to repeat that mistake. Unfortunately his sister’s upcoming wedding is happening and his ex-girlfriend (her best friend) is going to be there. Instead of going alone he decided to have someone pretend to be his his girlfriend. Enter his an old hookup buddy, Jane. They agree to no-strings, but soon they find themselves completely tied up in their feelings.
Omg this story! No one told me I was going To tear up. Gah! My heart just felt for Trey. He’s such a sweetheart and his poor heart is so bruised that I just wanted to smack him and then make it okay. Jane broke my heart too. She’s fallen into being the girl who’s a good time to hide her hurt. They’re both so perfect for each other and so blind to it at the same time. I was going to root if they didn’t get their HAE. I liked the story, I loved the characters, and I’m excited for more from the author.
This one was amazing. So full of emotions. I absolutely love Trey. I loved him in the first book. Learning about what happened between him and his ex broke my heart. No person ever deserves that. Trey is quite the man. But he was put through something he couldn’t come back from and didn’t want to go through again so he never dated. But now he has to face his ex at his sister’s wedding and he wants some back up so to speak. His best friend has just the person Jane. A girl that is feisty and will not fall in love with him. She will play the role that is needed to be played. But once these two meet and start hanging out the lines get crossed and the rules fly out the window? Will Trey let down his walls? Will Jane finally fall for someone and be happy? I absolutely loved these two together. There was just something about them that you could easily see them two together as a couple once they figured out what was right in front of each of them. A well written enjoyable emotional book from beginning to end. Loved it. Highly recommend it.
I loved the relationship Trey and Jane had from the beginning. Even at the first meeting, they have this laid back friendship that is #relationshipgoals. The joking and easy-going matter draws you in.
Even in a ‘fake’ relationship, you wouldn’t believe it. The chemistry is there.
They both have baggage, but they each help the other through it. The emotion and pain is beautifully written and amazing. I felt Jane’s pain. I felt Trey’s jealousy. Everything about this book, this series, is amazing. I can’t wait for Peterson’s book!
This is my first book by Audrey and it was freaking fabulous!! As we get to know Trey and what makes him tick, you get to see a vulnerable part of himself. And Jane who has a big heart but his it because it makes her want more than anyone has been willing to give her. I loved this book!! I couldn’t out it down and Trey is just freaking adorable. I love that they both are sexual and are not ashamed of wanting more from each other. So damn good!! The ending was the best!!!

What happens when you combine a damaged put off love tattoo artist and a free spirit nurse practitioner? You get one steamy read that is a slow burn that will melt your kindle and quite possibly your panties.. Now who doesn’t like a book like that?
We start of with Trey are very gorgeous tattoo artist who has been burned in the past by someone who he thought was his one and only. He has decided he is to damaged to have anything more than one night stands. His sister is getting married and he is the lucky man who gets to walk her down the aisle. He decides t talk to his friend about the situation since he made the mistake of telling his sister that he has met someone. Enter our beautiful heroine Jane….. She is a free spirited young lady that loves to let loose when she is not busy with her job. Jane has no qualms about being who she is. She has suffered a great loss at a young age and deals with the stress of her job and everyday life the way she wants. When the two of them meet and decide to move on with their “relationship” neither one is prepared for the fact that just maybe they have found their happiness. Yes there is a misunderstanding by someone who thinks they are unforgettable, but as it turns out they are!!! I absolutely loved Trey and Jane together. Their banter and easiness with one another seemed so real from the very beginning.
I loved Trey and Jane’s story. After reading Healing Scars and getting a glimpse at the sexy, tatted-up, brooding ex-soldier, Trey, I was eagerly awaiting his story.
(Side note: You don’t have to read Healing Scars to enjoy this story, but I recommend you do, because it’s just as phenomenal as Goodbye, Trey.)
Now. Let’s talk about Trey. Holy hell that man is one fine piece of man. Sexy, flawed, layered and just how I like my alphas—a tortured soul. Abandoned by his wife while he was off serving his country, he’s sworn off love and commitment. Problem is that nobody except his closest brothers in arms know what he went through, not even his sister, who just so happens to be getting married and guess who’s the maid of honor. Yup. The ex.
What comes next is a rollercoaster ride of emotion as he strikes up a deal with a client—Jane—to be his “mock” girlfriend to the wedding. Of course, there is chemistry there (we wouldn’t have a story without it). So they enter a FWB arrangement. Of course though lines get blurred as emotions get involved.
Now, let’s talk about the boinkage. Because it’s HOT. Audrey has suck a knack for writing off the charts, smoking-hot sex scenes and this book delivers.
This is my third book by Audrey and she’s grown as a writer with each story. She’s an up and coming author to keep an eye on. Wonderful story, wonderful characters. I look forward to the next one in the series!
This is the second book in the healing series and can be read as a standalone. However, I would recommend reading book one since it was phenomenal. Audrey Ravine is a new author but her stories are incredible. In this book we meet Trey, a man who needs a fake girlfriend for his sister’s wedding. Why? because his ex-wife will be attending the wedding as well. He never told his family the real reason he had gotten divorced 6 years ago was because Kenzie no longer wanted to be married to a military man. His friend suggests Jane to be his fake girlfriend for the wedding and she agrees since it is a trip and she needs a break from her stressful job. However, slowly these two start to care for one another but are not able to tell each other that they want their fake relationship to become something real. Will they be able to express their feeling ? what will happen once Trey sees his ex-wife? Come on and read this one guys it is completely worth it and I can assure you the ending is absolutely incredible.
Trey and Jane will take you a very emotional, and amazing read.
Trey is going to his sisters wedding and is needing someone who can help him cause his ex wife is her maid of honor.
Jane is not looking for anything permanent and offers to help Trey.
As they start to hanging and become friends and have some personal and hot steamy moments. Will they be able to keep a friendship or will they want more.
Amazing read with lots of heat and steamy and so many emotions it will have you laughing one minute and almost crying the next. Can’t wait to read more from this author.
This was my first time reading anything from Audrey. But I loved it so much and didn’t want it to end!!!
I loved the story of Jane and Trey and how they meet and become who they are together as a team.
Trey had a rough breakup from his ex-wife, who couldn’t deal with him being gone all the time as a soldier.
Jane is the party girl, well, used to be, and knows how to put on a show in more way than one. Can she put on an act long enough to play make believe with Trey for his ex at his sisters wedding?
Sounds like a mouthful right, but Oh it was so good!!!!
I liked how this was a slow burner but at the same time it was a fast paced love as well. Even though they weren’t together that long, they are falling for each other.
Of course like with any story, there’s a TWIST! I didn’t see that one coming until something was said by the ex. and then It hit me!! But seriously, this was such a great book!!!! And Trey sounds so freaking hot too!
Fave quotes from the book
1. I bounce on top of Trey’s lap like he’s a show pony and I’m in it to win the state ribbon. – I lost it! Died laughing right there on the bus on the way to work!
2. “It was her EKG just after she was admitted to the hospital. Her last cognitive moments with me.” – SO SAD!! 🙁
3. Fuck, I’m already at half chub, I’ll be sprouting a full sail by the time she’s done with this damn tattoo. – ROFL!!! Trey is so hot for Jane!
