Everything from her past screams for Annie to disregard the charming, sexy, footballer who won’t take no for an answer, but Erik is relentless… and, dammit, too understanding to ignore.
Annie and Erik are two likable characters that encounter each other at an interesting time in their lives. She is in Australia for a change not to date. When they meet Erik wants to date her. They give it a try, but not without gaffes that are fueled by each having past secrets that interfere. Still as they work their way through and with the help of strong chemistry the reader is treated to a solid well developed story.

The interactions between Annie and Erik was everything. I loved this read, it was smart, vivid, emotional and interesting with characters that have depth and imperfections.

Misunderstanding and Love?
The Australian setting for this book was great. I love the cover on this one you have this big hunk of a guy and this little gal looking up at him with this don’t mess with me look. Erik was a jerk to Annie now she gave him a chance and he blew it. When she does not want to have anything to do with him he wants her. You can’t help but see the trouble brewing. I enjoyed the book it felt real people tend to go around and around and that is what the author showed. Good book you should check out. Okay first off I really enjoyed this story even though the characters were a bit clueless. The story kept me entertained and I enjoyed all the characters immensely. Erik and Annie’s journey was rocky but in the end they found their way back to each other. But I do have to say I’m not sure I like how abrupt the ending was. I turned the page expecting another chapter or maybe an epilogue but it was just over? So it was good but the ending wasn’t what I expected.

Strong Showing for Book #2 of the Alpine Valley Series.
GOOD TROUBLE Alpine Valleys–Book 2 by author Laura Simpson provides the readers with another batch of interesting, well-developed characters. Some of the supporting characters were in Book One and are very much felt in this storyline. The protagonists, Annie, the Physical Therapist and Erik, the Football Player/Viking/Lumberjack. Erik is very attracted to Annie and during his PT appointments is always asking her out to which she refuses.
Then complications from her past resurfaces back in England, her homeland. Her brother calls. She has not spoken to him or any family member in four years due to a horrific accident. She left at the urging of her evil mother. Annie has long held the belief that because of her, her brother is a paraplegic but, when he calls her out of the blue and they finally talk he sets the record straight on that and soon thereafter shows up on her doorstep with her ex boyfriend.
Erik and Annie continue to become close despite their agreement. Then not only does have Annie have these unexpected family issues, Erik also has unexpected family that appears and severely test long held beliefs. Will both be open to hear different stories? Or, are their perceptions fixed? Will they be able to move beyond all the nonsense and into a relationship?
I liked this storyline. The group of women were supportive of each other and were inclusive. The flow of the storyline read well with my only complaint being the same as it was for book one…the name of the first person needs to be the head of a chapter. Again, it is irksome to be reading almost a paragraph without knowing if this is Annie or Erik perspective.
I am recommending this book for your reading enjoyment and pleasure. While it can be read alone, I do think you would enjoy it more if you read book one, Beyond Today, so you can meet the women, Molly, Hannah, Leslie. Peace.

Good Trouble is the second book in the Alpine Valleys series. I loved Erik and Annie’s story. The characters are well developed and some are brought back to us from the first book “Beyond Today”. This story is well written, with secrets, deception, misunderstandings, family issues, and a wonderful chance at a true relationship.
I read and reviewed this book with no obligation.
