Marrying a stranger tops the list of things you should never do in Las Vegas, but I did it anyway. The entire night was my idea. I was the one who suggested a wake-up-with-a-tiger kind of night. Instead, I woke up with a ring on my finger and Vince Rossi in my bed.Vince, who was nothing like I thought he was and everything I never knew I needed.Suddenly I was falling head-over-heels in love with … was falling head-over-heels in love with my accidental husband and the idea of ending this union was the last thing I wanted.
I wanted forever.
So what if we barely knew each other? Statistically speaking, our odds were as good as anyone’s.
Until the annulment papers landed on my doorstep…

Oh man, loved this one so much. Payton and Vince are fantastic together even if they do end up together kind of by accident. I love the depth of all of the characters and how Jana slowly rolls out information about each one. I just wish there was a Vince out there for me 🙂
In addition to the romance and lovable characters, Jana’s books are laugh out loud funny and this one does not disappoint in that department. So many legiterally great lines and scenes: I will never look at a porcupine the same way again. You need to read this book! I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book — I was privileged to do so and enjoyed every single moment.
Where to begin… Good Time is seriously the best Rom Com I’ve read to date. Payton and Vince are legiterally the best couple EVER. So funny!!! I loved their story so much. Jana has just kicked Rom Com’s butt and made it her b@#$h.
So so funny! Payton (the Heroine) will have you rolling your eyes and laughing right along with her the entire time. Her character is really out there. She is like a breath of fresh air. She sees what she wants and goes after it. Her imagination is on point. She has a unique way of getting the things she wants. And what she wants, is that hot man she saw in the lobby of the hotel she works at. She doesn’t know who he is, but she knows she’s going to marry him, but she blinks and he’s gone. She knows its kismet when she accompanies her friend to a business meeting, and lo and behold, her future husband is the one in charge of the meeting. His character is part alpha male, and part sweetheart. Of course he turns down her advances, she is a little crazy after all, but she thinks like Dory… Just keep swimming just keep swimming.
This book ties in with book one Good Girl, and the timeline overlaps. You do not need to read that book first. Each can be read as stand alone’s, but you do get glimpses of each in the other. It’s a fast paced story with no real downtime. It is definitely hard to put down, and thus reads as quickly as the story moves. It’s pretty much a lighthearted read throughout. No major emotional moments, other than happy emotions. There is some sexual content. There isn’t some big break up scene, though there is a hint at it. While the story line itself is great, it’s the characters, mostly Payton’s, who really make this read what it is.
Jana is the master of Rom-Com writing. You will laugh out loud, so beware of your surroundings when reading this book. Unless you like people looking at you like you have lost your mind.
I have to say that Good Time has the best epilogue I have ever read! I am not going to tell you why it is so great you have to read it for yourself to understand what I am talking about.
We meet Payton and Vince in Good Girl and we were left hanging on what is going on between these two. Well, wonder no more! Payton and Vince’s story is here!
Payton is an outgoing, kind of crazy girl and Vince owns a strip club. How will these two end up together? Read the book and find out.
Trust me. You will NOT be disappointed in this awesome read.
Another laugh out loud and really enjoyable read from Jana, although admittedly I wasn’t too sure about Payton’s brand of quirky and crazy at first, but she grew on me, a lot!!
Payton turned out to be a really strong and sassy character, not afraid of going after what she wanted, confident in her own body and sexiness, enough to make the move on a man, which is unusual in many books. Her quirky and crazy nature turned out to be very appealing once you get used to her, making up her own words and mixing well known sayings and making them her own, for example ‘break a leg’ turns into ‘break a dick’! A very refreshing and different type of heroine.
Vince is a character in his own right, certainly not what you expect someone like Payton to be attracted to, opposites certainly attract in this one!! I really liked Vince, you only get to learn about him from Payton’s POV which makes up all of the book except for the last chapter which is told from Vince’s POV, which worked wonderfully well for me, it really finished the book off well, hearing from him and his thoughts about Payton and why he was attracted to her.
This is not your typical fake marriage to earn your trust fund type read, it was really very different and refreshing, I was quite emotional about it at the end for Peyton, and Vince had me swooning with his character traits, I loved it!! Of course there are plenty of laugh out loud moments being a Jana book, but the big romance and swoon I was not expecting! Brilliantly entertaining, highly recommended reading!!
Wow! Payton is over the top with her imagination and ever the optimist. She sees what she wants and goes after it. And Vince? He’s just perfect. Not at all what his first impression provided. I loved watching them grow together. And the HEA was so sweet. Time for Cannon to get the love bug next!
Good Time by Jana Aston
5++++ Stars – another hit for 2018!!!!
Good Time is the most absolutely hilarious story!! I loved this so much!!
Payton, man… she is very funny and very crazy! She has a huge heart! I loved her!!
Vince is sexy, amazing, and simply perfect!
Loved reading about these two and how their relationship develop!
Very highly recommend! Get to one-clicking!
Payton legiterally has to be one of my favorite female characters I have read this year. She is just the best kind of crazy. I laughed out loud at her character so many times and I love the relationship that forms between her and Vince. This story was so much fun. I am still smiling from reading it. I can’t wait to read more from Jana.
I only discovered the awesomeness that is Jana Aston’s books this year, and now I feel like I’m addicted and I need anything new that she writes. She’s become a one-click author for me.
Payton and Vince’s story was amazing. It has you smiling the whole way through. They clicked from the start and I loved their chemistry
Vince, is all mystery hottie and we don’t really learn a lot about him until towards the end. But that made him more mysterious. I wish we had his POV throughout the whole book and not just the prologue. It would of broke Payton’s thoughts up a bit. I loved Payton at the beginning and the end but in the middle I kind of got annoyed with her and her thoughts. But in the end she grew on me and I love her and her crazy ways.
My favourite line:
“I’m ready to change my band name from Sated, Yet Horny to Flash Flooding.”
There were definatley some laugh out loud moments as there always is with Jana Aston’s books and I can’t to see what else she has up her sleeves.
Omg, I did not expect to be like Vince so much, I knew Payton was gonna be hilarious but Vincent… Gosh that man is what fantasies where made of.
Really get this book and be prepare to laugh and swoon, he get me all the feels and I just want to know where I can find one for me!!
I legiterally don’t have words right now but I feel all kinds of giddy and happy.
Okay, so let me tell you a few things about this book.
1. You will not get thru a single page without laughing.
2. Payton: she is quirky, sweet, unconventional in every aspect of everything (lol), unintentionally over the top, knows what she wants and is not afraid to jump for it. She has her own dictionary of words that make zero sense until she explains it and then it’s perfectly legit 😉 A little on the crazy side and most definitely trouble with a capital T! And of course, a persnickety porcupine who’s love holds no bounds and hilarious as f*ck!
3. Vince: swooooooooooooon … that’s it. That’s all you need to know. He’s just *happy sigh*
These three things are an absolute sure thing when it comes to this book. Anyone that disagrees is just not reading it right LOL If you read Good Girl, then you’ve already had a taste of Payton but trust me when I say, nothing will prepare you for her greatness. She is a breath of fresh air and this journey was way more than just a good time (see what I did there? lol). You will laugh, for sure, but your heart will also warm and you might get a little misty eyed in a few places and you will just swoon over all of it! #TRUST
Good Time made me laugh SO hard! It was hilarious. It was also very hot, and I loved both Payton and Vince. Aston is a master at erotic-comedy, and she proved herself once more with this story.
I was reading part of this on the train, and I not only laughed out loud I snorted! LOUDLY! – my daughter was not amused by me.
Needless to say, the blend of comedy and romance, and some very hot action was expertly done. And I had such a good time (heh, see what I did there?) with this story. Make sure you get your copy on release day. You will have many good laughs, and you’ll also be rather hot and bothered.
Just wonderful… exactly what I needed as a hilariously funny pick-me-up read. It ticked all of the boxes for me and I totally devoured it from start to finish.
This story is crazy…. totally wacky and out there, but everything about it just worked perfectly. Peyton is one of the funniest, kookiest, nuttiest characters I have ever read. I mean her whole character, her mannerisms, her ways, her attitude, is downright bonkers, but in the most appealing of ways.
Vince is a little more on the sensible side and finds Peyton’s ways rather charming albeit unbelievably bonkers. But lets be honest, he needs a bit of nuttiness inside of him too in order to go through with the things they do together. As a couple they were perfection. I loved the chemistry and the banter that these two had as a couple. They just worked.
I don’t want to give too much away, but you can certainly be sure of a ‘Good Time’ reading this book. It will entertain you, make you laugh, make you swoon and make you rather hot under the collar at times… it’s hot! The secondary characters were also brilliant, especially Cannon. Can’t wait to see more from him!
I’m legiterally giving this book 5 Stars!
4.5 stars!
One tequila…
Two tequila…
Three tequila…
Four…
OMG, I “legiterally” love this book! I love surprise Vegas weddings and this one is a whole new take on the trope, and I loved everything about it! Good Time is a hilariously entertaining, feel good read that is unputdownable! The amusing storyline and loveable characters set the scene for a book that will leave you laughing-out-loud and with a heart full of love.
I love Payton! She was awesome in Good Girl and I was thrilled when I heard she was getting her own book. And let me tell you, Good Time did not disappoint! When Payton sets her sight on a guy she sees from afar, she is convinced he is her future husband. When he disappears she figures if it’s meant to be, they will meet again. Much to her surprise they do and he is nothing like she expected.
Vince is every inappropriate fantasy I’ve never had wrapped up into one package.
I love that we revisit the comical first interaction between Vince and Payton from Good Girl but through Peyton’s eyes. I always wanted to know what was running through her head in Vince’s office the day they officially met. She is a riot and she instantly had me smiling. She is a unique individual and I adored her spunky personality. She is persistent, confident, and says what’s on her mind; every time she said one of her quirky sayings or put her unique spin on a popular phrases I was cracking up! She is outrageous at times but I loved it.
Big and firm, yet his shoulder makes such a nice place for me to rest my head.
“Are you comfortable?”
So my cuddling hasn’t gone unnoticed.
“Not as comfortable as I would have been on your desk,” I reply.
Vince is fantastic!! He is a breath of fresh air and completely different than Payton thought. He is so much more than a strip club owner and when we learn about all he does I couldn’t stop the love from bubbling over. He is the whole package! He is both sweet and sexy, hard and soft. He’s got a dirty mouth but he is unbelievably swoony, and I couldn’t stop from falling hard when he let Payton know how he felt.
“You look at me like I’m interesting. Or at the very least pretty.”
Somewhere in this exchange he’s stepped half a foot closer…
“I look at you that way because you’re nuts and I never know what’s about to come out of your mouth…And because you’re beautiful…Game-changing beautiful.”
This book guarantees a good time. The chemistry is electric and the sexual tension builds as Payton tells Vince exactly what she wants, and it is HOT! I felt the lust and even though it was “insta,” it worked really well in this story. They are on fire when they are together but I still felt their relationship grow into more. What started out purely physical became emotional as the got to really know each other.
Along with the fun, Good Time also adds some light angst. Though it’s not overly dramatic and revolves fairly quickly, I still felt on edge, fully invested in their story and I wanted to see their HEA.
“I used to believe that love only lasted for spans of one to ten years, but Vince changed that for me. He made me believe that shooting for forever is worth the risk.”
This book is written almost entirely in Payton’s POV and this is one time where I was desperate to get into Vince’s head. Gah! I wanted to know exactly what he thought of her. At the end, we finally get his POV and I loved it!! Hearing his thoughts about how his feelings grew made me giddy and fall for him even more. The epilogue is perfect and wouldn’t change a thing.
Overall, Good Time is a fantastic rom com that will have you laughing, swooning, and falling in love. It’s definitely one of my favorite Aston books to date!
Vince just doesnt understand his woman at times, “Vince pauses, the bag hovering over my countertop. “What?” He squints at me like I’m talking nonsense. Then he does a slow perusal of what I’m wearing and scowls. “So you’re in your pajamas and you have no food in the house? What were you going to eat for dinner, Payton?” Payton is legitimately just so cute, I don’t think the woman realizes how much she drives her man bonkers, “no. Pole dancing was me taking an interest in your hobbies.” I love that Vince gets used to his girl’s craziness, “How considerate of you to think all this through.” I pull her close to me and she yelps, not expecting it. Then I kiss her. I’d eff her over the back of our new sofa, but…” I loved this book, I live Jana’s characters their witty and fun to read about
5 My Girl Crush Has Her Own Book Stars!!!
If you read my review for Good Girl you know I had a HUGE crush on Payton and have been jonesing for her to have her own book and Ms. Aston has delivered!! This book is smart, witty, entertaining and an all-out good time!!
Payton first sees Vince in the lobby of the Windsor Hotel on the Vegas Strip and has decided she wants to make him hers even if it’s only one night.
“Vince is delicious. Vince is every inappropriate fantasy I’ve never had wrapped up into one package.”
And boy what a night it turned out to be!! One of the many things I loved about this book is that we get to see what’s going on in Payton and Vince’s world while Lydia is falling in love with Rhys. Let me tell you, there are some hilarious times happening in the world that belongs to Vince and Payton along with their sidekicks Canon and Lawson. Their night out on the town is full of inappropriate tit for tat along with many shots and fun to be had off the Vegas Strip.
Vince for all his aloofness is quite the dirty talker and I for one, well actually two if you count Payton, loved every single thing that came out of his mouth.
“Vince Rossi actually is a filthy dirty talker way, way, way out of your dirty-talking league and is in fact your kryptonite no matter what that word means. He’s in All of it. Everything
Once he decides on something, like Payton, he’s singularly focused on the end game…which comes in handy as we progress through their story. And it’s a rapid moving story too because hey it’s Vegas baby and nothing moves slowly in Sin City.
I could go on for pages and pages on how much I loved this book. But I’d inadvertently give something away and we don’t want that to happen. Or I’d just write every funny quote that had me snort laughing my way through this comedic genius of a book but I want you as the reader to experience it first hand so go ahead and one-click and settle in for a hilarious ride with Payton and Vince that has chemistry oozing off it’s pages, heartfelt moments, dirty sexy bedroom action and when it all comes down to it, true love.

Ok so if I want to read a steamy rom-com Jana Aston is always my go to!!! With this book she hits it out of the park! I’m pretty sure that no one does rom-com like her! She writes the strongest funniest female leads and the most swoon worthy book boyfriends around! I’m telling you, you need to read this author! Read all the Jana Aston books you won’t be disappointed!!
Jana Aston is a rom-com genius, and she proves that once again with Good Time. With an impromptu wedding, a crazy but lovable heroine and a hero who is positively swoon-worthy, Payton and Vince’s story definitely lives up to its title.
“He looks like just my type. Tall, dark, handsome and hung.”
Payton and Vince were two of the best characters I’ve read in a while. There was nothing about them that I found unlikeable, and their banter was hilarious and entertaining. Payton was so funny and outrageous, but not in a way that I found to be over the top.
“Is there anything hotter than a wedding band on the finger of a very sexy man? Like, look at that sexy mother***er committed to f***ing only one woman for the rest of his life. Rawr”
Vince was absolute perfection in every way. Sexy, intelligent, sweet and considerate. I loved the way he handled Payton. The sex between them was off the charts hot, and I found that I enjoyed their conversations just as much. I laughed out loud so many times, especially at the things that came out of Payton’s mouth. And Vince’s reaction to those things was equally entertaining. They were two people who should have been polar opposites, yet they were perfect for each other.
“‘You are the bossiest, most aggravating woman I’ve ever met.’
‘Tell me something I don’t already know'”
In addition to the laugh-out-loud moments were some really sweet and emotional ones. Vince was an enigma throughout a lot of the story and it was great watching Payton try to figure him out. I would have loved to have his POV throughout the story but I did enjoy the mysterious aspect to his character and think that it aided in the build up of the storyline. The Epilogue was really well done and I was thrilled to finally get Vince’s take on the events that went down between him and Payton. Their story was perfectly imperfect, and suited them so well. The side characters were another great part of the story, and I loved seeing Lydia and Rhys again. I am really hoping to get Canon’s story soon, because he certainly brings his own brand of hilarity to any situation and I think that his book would be epic. Good Time is a funny and enjoyable story that definitely should not be missed.
I can’t remember the last time I smiled throughout an entire book — non stop. Good Time is not only amazingly funny and witty but so well written that you can envision the characters in your mind. Payton comes to life with all her funny quirks and truly endearing witticisms. No one can take a saying, a thought, a fact (or non-fact as the case might be) and breathe new life to it in a way that it suddenly makes some sense even though you KNOW it makes no sense at all. Is she the average “dumb blonde”? (I’m blonde so don’t take offense please). She is more…and it takes a special person to see that more. Is Vince that person? These two should never work in the real world. Payton is the bull in the china shop. She gets a thought in her head and completely rolls with it to it’s sometimes dramatic conclusion. Vince is NOT that person. He is precise, hot and controlling. These two are oil and water but when they say opposites attract…sometimes they do it in a way that makes you want to keep reading. I could read an entire series with just these two and I’d be smiling all the way through. Now I need more Canon in my life because his character was an amazing play off Payton and I want him to have HIS story.
The title of this book is very apropos. It’s a real good time. Payton is absolutely insane, in the best way! She’s hilarious. I was dying of laughter over her antics. And Vince… *swoon* There’s more than meets the eye with this one. He’s so much more than you’re probably thinking if you’ve read Good Girl. He’s amazing. Gah!!! And I love them together. It takes a special man to handle Payton. They’re calm and chaos! They’re perfect for each other.
This book is fun and flirty and sexy and swoony. And I’m really hoping for at least one more book from this universe. *cough*Canon*cough* Just saying. If you like fun, feel-good books, this is a must read.
