The classic collaboration from the internationally bestselling authors Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, soon to be an original series starring Michael Sheen and David Tennant.?Season 2 of Good Omens coming soon!“Good Omens . . . is something like what would have happened if Thomas Pynchon, Tom Robbins and Don DeLillo had collaborated. It would make one hell of a movie. Or a heavenly one. Take your pick.” —Washington Post
According to The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch (the world’s only completely accurate book of prophecies, written in 1655, before she exploded), the world will end on a Saturday. Next Saturday, in fact. Just before dinner.
So the armies of Good and Evil are amassing, Atlantis is rising, frogs are falling, tempers are flaring. Everything appears to be going according to Divine Plan. Except a somewhat fussy angel and a fast-living demon—both of whom have lived amongst Earth’s mortals since The Beginning and have grown rather fond of the lifestyle—are not actually looking forward to the coming Rapture.
And someone seems to have misplaced the Antichrist . . .

Love this book so much, hope the TV version can do it justice
Seriously, the cleverness of Pratchett and the mythology knowledge of Gaiman in one book. I’ve forgotten how many times I’ve read this and it’s great every time.
Hysterical from first to last, this classic collaboration between Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman is for everyone who was ever terrorized by Evangelical parents about the Anti-Christ and the second coming. Devilishly brilliant!
I read this a long time ago, but it is still fun to re-read occasionally. I love that Amazon is making a show about this.
The end of days was never so damn funny. Clever satire that’s harmlessly irreverent. Good and Evil, the angel Aziraphale and the demon Crowley, join forces to try and delay the apocalypse. I loved the character Crowly, who is “An Angel who did not so much Fall as Saunter Vaguely Downwards.”
The antichrist is named Adam and he calls his hell hound, dog.
“I don’t see what’s so triffic about creating people as people and then gettin’ upset cos’ they act like people”, said Adam severely. “Anyway, if you stopped tellin’ people it’s all sorted out after they’re dead, they might try sorting it all out while they’re alive.”
I also loved Agnes Nutter a prophet who lived in England during the seventeenth century. She was the author of two volumes of predictions. Only one of them was printed.
“It may help to understand human affairs to be clear that most of the great triumphs and tragedies of history are caused, not by people being fundamentally good or fundamentally bad, but by people being fundamentally people.” The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch’
If you haven’t read this cult classic recently, return to it. This timeless satire is FINALLY going to debut in film in 2019. Marvelous!
An oldie but definitely a goodie! With the upcoming series (that looks incredible, thank you David Tennant), I’d suggest reading this beforehand if you haven’t already. The age-old story of a demon and an angel who just want to keep the status quo on earth in the face of the apocalypse, this is a hilarious story with wonderful characters and fabulous world building.
Hey y’all it’s ya girl, I think you should definitely read the shit outta this book it’s good asf.Great gay love story
A wonderfully fun romp to the end of the world!
Funniest book about the apocalypse you will ever read.
Really enjoyed this book. They did a great job creating an entertaining, fun book to read.
These two great authors are even better than the sum of the parts. I really wish that they’d written more books together. This is a book that I recommend everyone read. It’s the funniest book about the you’ll ever read. The highest recommendation that I can possible give.
From the author of American Gods along with Terry Pratchet we get to see how the end of the world will come to be but we see it tried to be prevented by a demon and an angel
Amazing and hilarious! 100/10
