I’ve always been a good girl.I work hard, I follow the rules and I always achieve my goals. But sometimes good girls want things that aren’t good for them. Or someone who isn’t good for them. Like their new boss. And sometimes they do very bad things to get his attention.Like sell their virginity in an auction. Who knew he’d be so very, very mad?Maybe this was not my best laid plan…
A great, enjoyable read. Funny, steamy, a bit different.
Good Girl was a good read. It was my first read by Jana Aston but I will definitely be checking out more of her books. Lydia is a good girl. She’ a follow the rules type of girl and works hard. Rhys is ladies man. He’s not looking for a relationship. Lydia meets him and want to be a bad girl with him. He likes her too but he doesn’t think he the right person for her. Lydia is a fun character and does and over the top thing to get his attention. I was a little nervous her plan was going to backfire on her. These two are fun great characters. I’m not sure how long it was but it seemed like a quick read to me because I was hooked on the story.
So much fun to read!
Lydia was me! I was in 4H while she was a Girl Trooper, but she is me! I found myself smiling and laughing as she sorted her way through “romance” and sex. Truly amusing. She has no filter. What she thinks she speaks. The more unsure or anxious she is, the more she rambles.
Rhys is so far beyond her experience and he is completely bowled over by her, to the point that he can’t see what’s right in front of him.
So Lydia hatched a plan. A plan do beyond the realm of normal. Too funny!! And Rhys falls. Hook, line, and sinker. But he still doesn’t see it! How can he not see it?! He just cannot see what is right in front of him.
Good Girl is a quick and easy read, entertaining from cover to cover. And Payton? Vince? Now there’s a story!
“How come you get to do the oral and I have to wait until Wednesday to do the oral?”
“Because I’m in charge and I say so.”
I absolutely LOVE Jana Aston’s sense of humor! Her wit and comedic timing is always on point and her characters are these lovable beings that take you by surprise every single time! I can’t get enough of this woman’s words! Her humor and personality is stamped on every single page and it’s IMPOSSIBLE to wipe the grin off of your face once you experience her writing!
GOOD GIRL is a fun-filled, highly entertaining, romantic comedy that will brighten up your day! With each turn of the page, your smile will grow, your heart will fill, and your soul will lighten. Lydia is just a pure delight. Rhys is an absolute enigma. Together, these two LIGHT UP the pages of this amazing romance. They couldn’t be more different. They come from different worlds, and yet, you couldn’t picture them with anyone else. I love it! I know YOU will love it! Anything Jana Aston throws at me, I devour it instantly. GOOD GIRL is no different! Take a chance on this woman’s writing. I guarantee it will be one of the best things you ever do!
I found myself laughing at the characters in this book. Finished it in record timing and left me wanting more. Can’t wait to see the next book in this series. I am adding this author to my list of followings.
Once I got into this book I wasn’t able to put it down. Lydia and Payton are besties and should both receive badges for “Able to find trouble anywhere”. Lydia is as innocent as Payton is experienced and neither one has the ability to keep their thoughts to themselves. Of course this makes for some interesting situations. Most importantly Payton insisting that they not leave the bar they’re in until Lydia gets kissed. Here is where Rhys comes into the story. He’s the bad boy (well seriously he’s no boy) that comes to the aid of Lydia (he dubs her the Good Girl) and gives her that kiss, an incredible kiss to boot. There’s so much more that happens after this kiss…so so so so much more but I’m not gonna spill the beans here and give spoilers. Grab your own copy of Good Girl and find out how Lydia and Rhys get together in the most unusual, hilariously incredible Las Vegas way.
Ever since reading her WRONG series I have been absolutly in love with the author’s wit and hilarious dialogues, as well as her funny heroines. Jana Aston’s books make me laugh out loud, chuckle and smile from ear to ear.
Good Girl was everything the author is known for. It had witty and smart dialogues, inner monologues that had me chuckling, and characters that had chemistry and were meant to be together.
I missed this author’s writing. I’m not usually a fan of rom-com, because keeping the perfect balance without ending up in the ridiculous area is a skill that not many authors have. Jana Aston has always proven that she knows what she is doing, and Good Girl is just such a book.
Between the main characters Lydia and Rhys and the supporting cast, this novel prims of personalities that I would love to call my friends. All of them were quick witted, smart, funny and amusing. There was NOT ONE character I didn’t like. The author’s sub plots and supporting cast character development has me looking forward to more. I was deeply enchanted and positively surprised by some of the sub plots. I didn’t see them coming, and adored the unique outcome.
Now let’s get to Lydia..
The heroine was something special. The things that came out of her mouth had me cracking up. I swear, that girl had no filter and the most intriguing thought process ever. Lydia stole my heart, and in the process Rhys as well.
Rhys was SWOONWORTHY!!!!
He was very pragmatic, dry humored and always trying to catch up with Lydia’s never boring personality. Rhys was the calming influence, a confirmed bachelor that took being swept away by Lyida’s vibrant demeanor in stride and enjoyed it more than he ever thought was possible. He was openminded, refreshingly curious to find out what made Lydia tick, and SO EASY to fall in love with. His dialogues with his friend Cannon were some of my most favorite in the entire book. Those two were LOL funny!!!!
This book had everything I like.
The plot on it’s own was very well done – a well known trope, used in a refreshingly and unique way. The characters played off each other in a smart and hilarious way. And a romance that was sexy, sweet, and funny, but never over the top. Jana Aston wrote a wonderful novel, that was easy to read, and left me utterly enchanted.
3.5 stars for – Good Girl – by Jana Aston. This book is only the first in what I hope will be a series with so much potential for many more books to come. For those of you who have never read Ms. Aston’s work before you are in for lots of laughs and cringe-worthy moments you won’t soon forget. Long time fans of Aston’s work won’t believe all the shenanigans this quirky new heroine and her best friend find themselves in before all is said and done.
Lydia just moved to Las Vegas after graduating college to accept a hospitality position at a brand new casino/hotel. Splitting the rent with her best friend and paying her student loans are her only real expense since she tends to live well within her means. The one splurge Lydia must have is her dollar menu fix of Del Taco practically every single day. Just before the start of their new job she and her roommate went to the local pub where she saw and kissed the most gorgeous man ever but he walked away. If ever there was a man to make her want to swipe that v-card it was him.
Rhys is the general manager of the hotel where Lydia now works therefore he is her boss but he had no idea who she was the night he met her at the pub. Rhys prefers to keep his interactions with women to the one night variety and realizes very quickly that Lydia is too much of a good girl for that. When he realizes he is in jeopardy of losing her to another man because of some crazy auction though he decides to finally make his play.
This was a good story with lots of laughs and plenty of steam in only the way Jana can write them. With tons of characters that I can’t wait to know more about I will definitely be looking for more of this series in the future.
Jana Aston never fails to deliver laugh out loud entertaining and romantic books! She is brilliantly witty and her characters are well developed and endearing. I love “living” vicariously in the worlds she creates in her books!
Good Girl – So Good!
I think I’m kinda in love with a Good Girl! Lydia is funny and quirky and amazing. Rhys never even has a chance against her awesomeness! And I SO want more of EVERY supporting character!! Give me more!!!
I don’t know when I’ve just completely enjoyed a book so much!
“I thought if he just gave me a chance he might like me in a several-months kind of way instead of a two-day-shipping kind of way.
That was the plan after all.
Sorta the plan.
Falling in love with him was not the plan.”
-More than 5 Stars!-
I was worried about the “buying a Virgin” concept, and I was happy to be proven wrong. It really wasn’t what I was worried about. Everyone has power and agency. Rhys definitely used women in the past, but no one was treated as an object in the course of this book.
Lydia is fabulous and funny. She is comically innocent and honest. Rhys is willfully ignorant, and they make a great pair. While Rhys and Lydia have great, ridiculous, comedic dialogue, they also good moments of connection that show their relationship is more than just sex and zingy banter.
I can’t wait for Payton and Vince’s story. I want to know Canon’s story.
I may have been late to work this morning because I was devouring this book. Darn work, making me split my reading time of this awesome deliciousness!! Once again, Jana knocks it out of the park!! Loved every syllable! Rhys (pronounced like those nummy chocolate covered peanut butter awesomeness ) is hot, clueless, and adorable in his conviction that he’s a dirty old man or something. Lydia is thrifty, clever, goal oriented, and kind of awkward. They’re a match made in Vegas. And throw in their meddling friends and you’ve got a Jana Aston book! Definitely a must read.
I am a huge fan of Jana Aston. She writes some of the best romances I have ever read. Hands down. Her romantic comedies are everything! When she releases a book, I am 1-clicking, no questions asked. Every time I think it cannot get any better, she releases a new book. In Good Girl we get a story that will captivate you and have you smiling throughout the entire journey!
I loved, loved, loved Lydia and Rhys so much. Lydia was hilarious and spoke her mind. A good girl determined to get what she wanted. The perfect kind of heroine Jana is known for. Quirky, awkward, and just plain delightful. Rhys is a busy man and has no time for relationships. So why can’t he not stop thinking about Lydia? Rhys was all kinds of sexy, older, rich and a dirty talker. And Lydia’s boss.
Lydia wants Rhys, so what is a girl do to? A virginity auction of course. I mean why not, right? I love how they meet and then she proceeds to learn he is her new boss. From there we get a hilarious story full of chemistry, outrageous moments and all kinds of sexiness. Lydia and Rhys have such a strong connection and great banter.
In Good Girl I laughed so much my side hurt. It was a great read. It had amazing characters and a story you can get lost in. It is all Jana Aston and really, that says it all. Her writing is some of the best I have ever read. I highly recommend not only Good Girl but everything Jana writes!
Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog!
Rhys and Lydia are Jana Aston’ s newest supercouple. You will want Lydia as your bff because she is one funny kick ass heroine. Rhys will make you swoon and together they are fabulous. As usual Jana did not disappoint me with this fun sexy read!
My stomach still hurts from laughing so hard!
Lydia is one Crazy Virgin Nerdy girl that will have you totally being team V!
Rhys is such a manwhore who as soon as he meets Lydia, her type of crazy brings out a side of him he never thought could be possible.
These two together are perfect.
And the sexy times in this book were off the charts hot!
This book is told in dual Point of views so you get an equal amount of Lydia & Rhys’s thinking.
Lydia’s crazy best friend Payton had me rolling. I thought Lydia was funny but Payton is her twin when it comes to outrageous ideas.
I am looking forward to Payton book. I know it will be soo good.
Seriously after reading this book I want to go to a Goodwill store, eat some Del Taco & watch tons of HGTV & find me a Rhys!

Jana Aston is a comedic genius! She should write for television, but of course, it would have to be for cable since she has such a naughty mind. Ms. Aston’s latest novel, Good Girl, is a seriously funny romantic comedy.
The story is well paced. The plot is straight forward and easy to follow. There is no real angst, and the humor is over-the-top. I was literally laughing out loud at Lydia’s antics and Payton’s creatively mixed up phraseology. Lydia is the perfect nerd. The former Girl Trooper is a total “good girl”. Her innocence and enthusiasm are adorable attributes. Her best friend Payton, is not quite so innocent, but she is 100% a loyal friend with the best of intentions when it comes to her gal pal, Lydia’s interest in Rhys, her swoon new boss.
Ms. Aston has made it chic to be a virgin who holds out for someone worthy. her quirky sense of humor shines through her characters and their wacky predicaments. I fell for all the characters in Good Girl, but recent-college-graduate, Lydia is one of my all time favorites. Good Girl is a feel-good, laugh-out-loud read that left a smile on my face. I got my reading badge, and now I’m working on my bug-the-author-for-more-books-about-these-characters badge.
“Anyway, we’ll call your next badge the confidence badge,” Payton says as she gets to work with her Sharpies. “Since calling it the ‘fuck everyone’ badge seems a little dicey for you. You haven’t earned this one yet, but I’m going to make it and hang it on the fridge so you have a goal.”
“Do you think this is a bit dysfunctional?”
“No. I think this is adulting done right.”
I do like having goals, so I decide she must be correct.
Oh my gosh, this book made me laugh out LOUD! I know that Lydia is the main character in this story, but I totally love her friend Payton. She is unashamedly herself, a little crazy, but super loyal. She pushes Lydia out of her comfort zone and right into Rhys, I mean … umm.
Let’s talk about Rhys for a minute. This guy was a commitment-PHOBE. It’s been a while since I’ve seen a male character who is so afraid to connect with someone else. What is always funny about characters who don’t want to attach themselves to anyone else is that they unwittingly get attached by trying to stay unattached. <-- Confusing, I know, but they do it EVERY TIME. The fun part about this was seeing how different Rhys and Lydia were, but how each of them held something the other truly needed. This story was a little bumpy for me at times. I often found myself annoyed at the antics of Lydia or Rhys, or rolling my eyes at a situation. All that aside, I did find myself attaching to the characters and becoming involved in the story. There was a certain spark that I didn't quite find for myself, but I absolutely enjoyed being in this world and meeting these characters. Now, Payton's story is one I CANNOT WAIT for!
A story that had me laughing and smiling the entire time! I love this author’s style of writing and quick wit.
Lydia’s twenty-two and finds herself newly living in Vegas with her bff Payton. She’ll be working at a new casino just about to open. She’s a homebody. She’s a good girl. She likes to sew pajamas in her free time. But sometimes good girls want to be a little bit bad.
A night out with her bff leads to an anonymous make out session at a bar…she can’t get him off her mind. But she knows she’ll probably never see him again…
Lydia was quirky, naive and completely endearing. Her honesty was refreshing and hilarious at times. Her bff Payton was totally off-the-wall and I loved her!
Rhys was every girl’s fantasy. He was sexy, successful, driven, posessive and a little bossy. Plus his dirty talking and bedroom skills were top-notch!
A fun read with characters you will want to revisit. Lydia was so different in the best of ways! I loved their chemistry and the push and pull of their relationship. Rhys could only deny his feelings for so long before he lost everything. And
I definitely need Payton’s story! Enjoy this fabulous read!
Good Girl is beyond hysterical. And sweet and swoony and durrrrty. Basically, it is brilliant. I laughed so hard the Air Marshall almost escorted me off of the plane. And this is JANA ASTON style dirty so it was squirmy and saucy and blush inducing too.
She has knocked it out of the park with Good Girl. Rhys and Lydia are beyond adorable. Another reviewer put it best when she said it’s like Wrong and Trust had a love child. And she couldn’t be more Right (especially since Payton can give Everley a run for her money in the bestie deportment). Leave it to Jana to take an age –gap virgin auction IN VEGAS with a hot boss as a lead and turn it into the sweetest, funniest book I’ve read in ages. Jana has this ability to infuse her characters with so much humanity that even in the most ridiculous of circumstances they are real and relatable and oh so easy to take into your heart.
Everyone needs a smile. This story is guaranteed to make you smile. Ergo, everyone needs this book. BUY IT NOW!!!!!!

I have missed Jana Aston’s words. It felt like it had been forever. LOL!!
I loved this book!!!! From the storyline to the characters. I was laughing so hard I had tears rolling down my cheeks. Aston took the humor and awkwardness to a whole new level in this book. And I loved every second of it. Who says the nerdy awkward girl can’t get the sexy good looking guy? I’m not going to recap this book. Or give anything away. All I’m going to say is if you need a good laugh. You NEED to read this book. No one does Rom/Com like Aston. I promise this book is so worth your time.
