I’ve always been a good girl.I work hard, I follow the rules and I always achieve my goals. But sometimes good girls want things that aren’t good for them. Or someone who isn’t good for them. Like their new boss. And sometimes they do very bad things to get his attention.Like sell their virginity in an auction. Who knew he’d be so very, very mad?Maybe this was not my best laid plan…
Billionaires and virgins as only Jana Aston can bring to your eReader.
Hilariously funny, this virgin and her “badges” are definitely not what the hero expects. Another fantastic and thoroughly entertaining story from this must-read author.
Good girl.. with the non classic fairytale spin.. Jana Aston had made me smile and laugh so much.. Lidya was the free spirit girl, naive and curious like a cucumber. I have never known that Goodwill is the ‘IT’ place to go for hunting.. frothe crazy stupid lamp..crazy jacket to an old crockpot (still working).
Lidya was the new version of cinderella with perks and twists.. Her character was young and naive. I was drawn with her innocent and kind hearted.. her willingness with Rhys.. sigh he was a very patient man..I adored his love to care for Lidya..
This book was fresh.. an easy ROMCOM romance to fell in love with.. No pretentious..just plain and simple.. feelings!
A virgin enters a bar, yeah I am not going to do that to you, but it’s a great ice breaker to this review, isn’t it? You know what I love most about Jana Aston’s books, it’s the pure wit and comedic timing she puts on display with each and every of her books.
You have Lydia, fresh out of college, a true innocent in the sense of the word, she’s proud of not being a rule breaker so much so that she earned the Good Trooper badges up until she was 18 years old, I will come back to that. The one thing she needs now is to lose that dreaded v card, if you know what I mean. But Ms. Lydia just doesn’t want to lose to anyone. Enter Rhys, the hot dude she has a somewhat make out session at a bar, but she can’t seem to get over said kiss until she sees him again, wait for it, at her new place of employment.
Rhys is Mr. Mixed Signals for sure, but he’s not looking for anything serious, he’s the typical guy that just want to get his stick wet (if you know what I mean) and never to see the woman ever again, but something about Lydia has him very interested. Let’s just say the lengths Lydia goes through to lose said V card and Rhys’s attention is quite the arduous and funniest feat ever.
Lydia is so endearing, her inner monologues, her naivete and who wholesomeness, just runs rampant throughout my read. Let’s not forget her BFF Payton who somehow conjures up ways for Lydia to earn more badges lol.
Ms. Aston never disappoints in delivering the over-the-top hysterical moments. Even the secondary characters are downright funny as well. Let’s not forget how Ms. Aston incorporates hot steamy sexy times. You will fall in love with Lydia and of course with Rhys. Make sure you are not drinking any liquids while reading Good Girl because I am sure you will have moments of spitting out your drink. I lost count on how many times I have snorted/giggled throughout my read.
Good girl gone bad!
Lydia is a good girl. She is definitely not the kind of girl who would be turned on by a stranger in a bar! In high school she avoided boys and parties and dedicated herself in studying hard and volunteering. During college she expected to find the right man for her and marry him after graduation. But none of this happened and she is still alone and a virgin.
Now she doesn’t want to be good anymore. She needs a man who will help her lose her virginity! After a dare from her friend, Payton, she kisses a man she’s never seen before in a bar. But on the first day in her new job she sees him again! Rhys is the general manager and she can’t help feeling attracted to him. In fact he seems like a perfect candidate to help her with her little problem.
Rhys doesn’t do good girls anymore, he prefers beautiful and temporary women. So Lydia has a wonderful and ingenious plan, one she’s sure Rhys won’t be able to resist! She will take part in a virgin auction!
What follows is a hilarious story of two people who are made for each other, even though they need some time to realise it and accept it. Rhys is dedicated to his career and feels that he doesn’t have time for a relationship. But as he spends time with Lydia, he starts to have feelings for her and he can’t live without her. Lydia has never felt a connection with a man before, so everything is a new experience for her! Thankfully, they have friends willing to help them! Good Girl is an amazing book and I couldn’t stop laughing as I was reading it! Sometimes you need to step out of your comfort zone and be brave in order to find love and both characters realise that! I can’t wait for the next book by Jana Aston!
LOL PEE YOUR PANTS FUNNY.
And sexy.
And swoony.
Oh, and did I mention sexy?
Audiobook Version:
This book was an absolute pleasure to listen to. It was my first book by Jana Aston and I can say it will not be my last!
Let me start with the story. It was comprised with so much humor! I love the characters. They were quirky, sexy, and just plain awesome. The storyline was unique and fun. It kept me hooked the whole way.
Erin Mallon and Jason Clarke went above and beyond for this one. It was Fan-Freaking-Tastic! Erin’s portrayal of the Quirky Virgin was the best thing I have heard in a long time.
Thank you to Jana, Erin, and Jason for giving us this treasure. This is high up my rec list!

This book was sweet, cute and hilarious. Very entertaining. The sex badges were very original! Loved it!
Who would have thought an online posting would have HIM so upset lol.. this book is definite one of my faves, it’s the whole package!
I devoured this book in two quick sittings (only stopped because life demanded it). I adored these two characters and started to get anxious when I realized I was getting close to the end. I wanted so much to spend more time with them and continue watching their love unfold. For me, it was such a GREAT time!!
This book is so hilarious and cute. Lydia is a 22 year old virgin who falls for a guy that kissed her at the bar because he overheard her roommate said that Lydia needs to be kissed! But the guy runs off after giving her the best kiss ever. Lydia doesn’t think she’ll ever see him again until she goes to start her job as a human resources representative for a new casino hotel that is going to be opening in 4 weeks! Guess who she sees – yep the kissing guy! Then she finds out that he is the general manager of the entire casino hotel. Lydia’s innocence and smart/logical thinking is so funny that I literally laughed out loud so many times. And her crazy hobbies of sewing, Goodwills, and watching fixer uppers on tv are cute and a little out there but it just fits with Lydia.
Payton can’t figure out Lydia or this pull he has to want to spend time with her and do things with her. He has never done the relationship route since he’s so busy trying to prove himself to his family that he can make a success of this new venture. He resists Lydia because he is much older (14 years older) and her innocence. But Lydia takes drastic measure to get Payton to spend time with her and some of the things Lydia says kind of shocks Payton and it is so funny to watch his reaction.
My God! I LOVED this book.
Lydia is a riot. Absolutely hysterical! I want her as a best friend. Never a dull moment. Her inner monologue had me in stitches. And so did her outer dialogue with the other characters in the book.
And Rhys… Dear sweet Rhys. First, he’s too hard on himself. He’s a catch! Second, he has a dirty, filthy mouth to rival all other dirty, filthy mouths. *fans self* He’s an idiot. And he’s charming. And he’s sexy and swoony and just so dang perfect in all his imperfections. I adore him!!! He’s a new member of my top favorite book boyfriends.
I loved that sweet nerdy Lydia was able to tame the beast, so to speak. The man who she assumed was out of her league. Their journey to HEA was filled with laughs, so many laughs, and steam and swoons and the tiniest bit of angst, just to keep things real. I wish the ending was a bit more drawn out, but I’m greedy like that.
I can’t wait for the next book in this series. And I hope that more will follow that one. This is a must read!
This book is rom com brilliance at its best and proves why Jana Aston is one of today’s rom com queens. Her books never fail to put a huge smile on my face. I love her cute and quirky characters, her quick wit, and her fun and original plots.
And I think that Good Girl just might be my favorite Aston book yet. Lydia is a pure delight. She’s smart yet naïve, sweet, creative, and determined to achieve her goals. I love the Trooper Girl badges – I think Jana needs to come up with reader badges. As for Payton, omg, she is hilarious and a bit outrageous. I cannot wait for her book!
And Rhys. I just love him! He thinks he’s the devil in disguise but beneath that gruff exterior lies a heart of gold.
Good Girl is a hilariously fun ride full of sweet sentiments and laugh out loud moments.
When quirky good girl former Girl Trooper, Lydia, meets Rhys in a bar, and is literally pushed by her best friend into kissing him, nothing happens other than said kiss. It was mind-blowing, but afterward he leaves her with “You’ve had your kiss. You can go home now, good girl.”
Ever since the kiss, he can’t get her off his mind and it drives him nuts. His friends keep giving him shit about it and he still can’t get her off his mind. But it’s not until he gets wind of her auctioning off her virginity at a local gentlemen’s club that he acts, damn does he because he’s pissed, seriously pissed. He doesn’t want to want her, but he just can’t help himself because she’s on his mind day and night AND he has a thing for paying for sex. It’s sorta his fetish. Yeah sounds lovely right? But have no fear because Rhys really isn’t a jerk. Well, he kinda is, but not really. It’s all on the surface. On the inside he is actually a sweetheart, he’s just wrapped in a gorgeous outer layer that oozes jerk.
So when they embark upon their one month paid for relationship, where
“We can’t be anything more than this, Lydia. One month. I’m not looking for anything more than that. This won’t be some kind of happily-ever-after fantasy.”
will the good girl and the bad boy be able to keep their hearts intact or will they find out that a former Girl Trooper and a playboy who likes to pay for sex can fall in love?
Can I just tell you how much I loved Lydia?! She’s a hoot. Her inner musings are freaking hilarious. She’s so weird and funny, but such a sweetheart and Rhys is perfect for her. He took a LONG time to realize this, but he did eventually realize it. Thank God, because I was starting to despair that man would ever get his head out of his rear end and take the plunge with Lydia.
Even if you don’t normally do rom-coms, I highly advise you to put Good Girl on your TBR list. Yes it’s funny in parts, but there’s lots of depth here, especially in Rhys. He’s a delicious package of layers that you’ll love unwrapping just like I did.
Good Girl is so funny. This is why I love to read books by this author. Her books make me laugh a lot. The characters are fun, flirty and sexy, the story is engaging and enjoyable. Nothing to heavy in the dialogues or the plot, just a fun book with relatable characters to relax and escape reality.
I have never laughed so hard reading a book before!! This was such a good book to read, I did it in one sitting, and was regretful afterwards, because I really didn’t want to leave the story and the world and the characters. The talent and hilarity in this book was just… WOW.
I highly recommend this author to anyone who asks.
GOOD GIRL is so sweet and so dirty all at the same time. Rhys seems like an unredeemable playboy and procurer of ladies of the night for his evening pleasures. Lydia is just indescribable, but a really wonderful character.
The story is about the two meeting briefly and Rhys deciding he needs to (but can’t) forget about her. Lydia launches an elaborate scheme to gain his attention and take advantage of his technique to become her official deflowerer.
The story is unique, and so is the type of humor. It’s hot all the passion and dirty talk we expect from a Jana Aston book.
This book is funny, and sweet and all the things a good romance book should be. I really enjoyed it!
4.5
What a unique book! From the very beginning I was captivated by this story. I wasn’t sure how it was going to play out and that in and of itself is what I needed. I like the unpredictability of a book, and this was it for me.
Rhys is the owner of the new up and coming Windsor hotel and casino. While he makes millions of dollars, he’s not that crazy kinda alpha male. He has his alpha tendencies but he’s also a sweetie at heart. I love how he can read Lydia and makes corrections for his actions. They’re simple things but to me, they mean a lot. Which made him a lot more realistic.
Then we have Lydia that still has her perfect flower. When she goes to the extreme to try to lose that flower, her world becomes something completely flipped upside down. She’s not expecting what she gets offered. Lydia is very unique and quirky in her own cute way. But she was also a naive twenty-two year old that was very well written and real life driven.
I wish I wouldn’t have waited to read these books, because I truly enjoyed the giggles I had throughout the book. If you’re looking for a light quick read, with little conflict, this is a book for you. Knocked off a half a star due to the switch in feelings seems a little abrupt but it still worked and was cute. I still wholeheartedly recommend.
Lydia is a little naive and a very sweet character to read. What sets her apart is her willingness to go the extra mile to achieve her goal; with that goal being Rhys. Rhys has been living a life that he thinks he wants- until he meets Lydia and what he wants takes a drastic turn.
I laughed so much at this book! I loved it so much that I immediately bought the audio book and convinced my husband to listen with me on a road trip the very next day after finishing it. I thought the characters were well written and character growth was evident for both of them throughout the story. The first time Rhys and Lydia are intimate was well written and realistic in a way you do not often see in virgin novels. I really appreciated that attention to detail. The secondary characters are also wonderful and because of that my immediate future reading is being redirected to their stories. (BTW I cannot wait for Canon’s story.) I can see this book being a regular reread: truly top-notch.
