But Moloch offers her a get-out-of-Hell-free card: steal an old book once owned by paranormal researcher David Jensen. The same David Jensen she fell in love with sixty years ago but left to protect him and his family. Then Moloch drops the biggest bombshell: David has died.
Heartbroken and feeling she has no choice, Liv makes the trip to Sanctum, Missouri only to find David’s grandson has the book. Worse, he’s keeping a mysterious family secret that threatens Moloch, Liv, and her three sisters. What’s a minion to do when her world falls apart? Get Madder than Hell and kick some demon butt.

Gone With The Minion Madder Than Hell Book 1
by Renee George, Love Spells
This book blew my mind, or I guess I can say Renee George did. What got to me in this book is not just the pure awesomeness of the world created by Renee George, or the desirability of Gone With The Minion or that the clever mystery is woven throughout this book I read and enjoyed Gone with the Minion, Madder Than Hell Book 1 by Renee George, and I think Olivia “Liv” Madder character might have topped them all. There is just something about this book that worked a little bit better for me and I really enjoyed these characters. I especially enjoyed being able to Laugh Out Loud with this Paranormal Romance it’s a great mix of Demons, Angels and Ghosts plus other mythology with all sorts of paranormal creatures. The chemistry between Liv and David is incredible. He is so hot and sexy and of course, huge. (Haha!) I loved the sexual tension between these two, especially when David pick up Liv and carry her to their bed, they are very lusty and touchy plus their scenes are sizzling hot and sexy, oh my are they so freaking hot! One of the things that draws me to this book is the sheer diversity of all of the paranormal creatures. There is a master demon, angels, minons and more. I especially enjoyed the villian of this book, who has a very handsome form. Just their inner dialogue makes this book worth the read. Gone With The Minion just blew me away. What I enjoy is that Renee George knows how the tension is built around adults when they are in sexual and romantic relationships. Readers and fans of her other series will not be disappointed with Gone With The Minion. I also enjoy the way she writes a romantic and rich mystery plus she gives us readers more details about fallen angels and their history. Plus additionally we get some phenomenal characters with a sizzling relationship progression. Liv feels guilty that she made a deal with the demon Moloch. Liv is trying to make Moloch sorry he forced her to sign in blood on the dotted line by removing his lesser demons from the Earthly plane. But despite Liv’s guilt and pain the book is also full of humor, it’s so damned funny. If you have not yet had the opportunity to read this book, it’s the first book in this series. It’s an very interesting book on its own and I think that Renee George’s fans will also enjoy this one. Renee George doesn’t disappoint and she has created a wonderful world for readers! The entire book of Gone With The Minion is supremely satisfying to read. Yes, there are parts that will make you laugh and parts that will make your heart weep for Liv, David, their crew and Liv sisters. But there are parts that will give us a exciting and heartwarming feeling that Liv and David will have their HEA! Gone with the Minion is an excellent start to the World of the Madder Than Hell series. I can’t wait to read more of this series. I would highly recommend starting with this the first book Gone With The Minion. That way, you could enjoy all the details and nuances of this fascinating world. Each book focuses on a lead couple and while the couple works through their attraction, the crazy villain is usually up to no good. I also want to say Thank You to Renee George she is a very creative and magnificent author! Thanks Renee GeorgeI enjoyed it this much and so much more!
Fresh and different! Loved it and laughed so much! Cannot wait for the next in the series!!!
I’m loving this fun series! Lots of laugh-out-loud moments and characters that stick with you long after you put the book down.
Making a deal with a demon was probably not the brightest move Liv Madder could’ve made….but she was determined to save her family’s farm. Too bad no one warned her about the long-term complications…not only for her but also for her sisters. And now she only has a few days left to figure out how to save everyone…or it’s bye-bye…for good.
Excellent start to a new series. Ms. George has a way with her characters and storylines that keeps me entertained and coming back for more.
178 years ago Olivia made a deal with a demon named moloch to save her sisters and the farm. His deal? Become his minion for 200 years getting him 1 soul every 10 years but in the she still loses her soul and goes to hell. Not a great deal but she was desperate. She also didn’t know how tricky demons could be. Her sisters died young, they still lost the farm and now then her 200 years are up her gets her sisters too. Very bad deal. So what’s doubled crossed ticked off minion do? Kill every lower demon she comes across and sends them back to hell. Lol
I can’t tell you about the love interest that would just mess the story but there us one. I love the action, and mystery. It’s fresh and different full of intrigue, humor, and so much more! I couldn’t put it down and didn’t want it to end. I am so happy this is going to dead a series because the first book is awesome and I can’t wait for the next book!
Voluntarily reviewed a copy and I honestly loved it.
Being a fan of Renee George’s work has taken me to her new series madder than hell and boy let me tell you it’s well worth the read.
What do you do with a southern belle name Olivia who’s lived more than 140 years as the minion to an egomaniacal Demon named Moholo? Why you do your best to end him. In this book you will meet a cast of characters that will have you shaking your head at their antics let me just give you a little hint there is senior citizens in the over 70 crowd.
This book was written in such a way that I never got bored while reading it I never skip the sections because it was monotonous and I really didn’t want to put it down until I finished it. The author wove a tale that started in current times with those little skips or flashbacks I should say to her past and to show how she came to be in the predicament that she’s in.
The story will cause you to laugh out loud, smile, shake your head, and want to fuss at Liv but I believe you will enjoy this story so much that you’ll be looking forward to the next book. I know that I am
If you are offended at the notion of Angels and Demons or heaven and hell then this book is not for you. This book was written with a light touch to Romance, the Paranormal, and to aging or the reverse.
I have voluntarily read and reviewed this book without obligation to the author.
Liv Hadder had been around a long time. A very long time. When they say never make a deal with the devil, they should have included or his demons. You just can’t trust a demon. Liv found out the hard way. She made a bargain with one to keep her three dead sisters out of hell. Now the sisters hang around to haunt…advise her.
She’s in trouble. The next deadline to keep her schedule of capturing souls for her boss is too close and she’s having problems. Another “deal” sends her back to the place she fell in love and was forced to leave that love to keep her sisters safe. Now many years later, instead of facing the older love, she faces his grandson who is a duplicate of the man she knew who has recently died.
From here it is a romp of lesser demons, dumb demons, wiley demon hunters (minions) and some human friends with the know how to help–maybe. Resisting the man who looks just like her love before she left is a challenge. But he’s the grandson. Just no.
Can this mixed batch of supernaturals and humans outsmart a well-placed demon? You’ll have to read to find out, but I guarantee it will be fun getting the answer.
The devil is in the fine print
LIv traded her soul to save the ones she loves – Like all contracts, she probably should have read the fine print
This was the first in series and as such, it was a bit slow in the beginning as the groundwork was being laid – George did a terrific job of introducing the characters and providing the backdrop for the storyline.
I really liked our heroine Liv and her witty take no prisoners attitude, and her footwear fetish is pretty awesome as well
Olivia has spent the last two centuries of her life as an indentured minion to Moloch. She has given up the man she loves, and the life she knew all to ensure the safety of those she loved. She only has 50 years left of her contract when things take a turn for the worst.
– Just about any hint here will be a spoiler –
The secondary and support characters were also vivid and enjoyable – Greatly enjoyed the dry humor and witty sarcasm that seems to abound within this band of demon fighters and senior citizens gone rogue –
The plotline flows smoothly and is filled with plenty of “Oh NO” moments and “NO You didn’t” scenes that will keep you engaged and entertained from the opening scene to the closing one
I read a complimentary copy of Gone With the Minion and I must say I have found a new series to indulge in
A fun and suspenseful paranormal read
This was a fantastic fast paced story. With plenty of twists and turns and when you thought you had it all figure out your hit with a unexpected surprise. Overall enjoyable and entertaining read and a great start for a new series. So looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest
The characters + storytelling were very captivating
Liv is totally regretting making the deal w/ the demon.
Now it is not only her soul that might got to hell, but her sisters’s soul as well.
What is Liv to do?
The storytelling + the character’s build were awesome!
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
I can’t wait for the next book in the series!
Renee George writes fantastic series and this new one will definitely not disappoint. Get ready for a roller coaster ride with lots of twists and turns, subplots and great characters with drama, romance and craziness! I loved the character of Liv Madder who would do anything to save her 3 ghost sisters and her farm including making a deal with a demon. She has to act as his minion for the next 149 years, doing his bidding and finding him fresh souls every 10 years. So…she does agree to save her family and farm because if she fails, they will all pay. But, the series is aptly named, Madder than Hell, because she is! There is a lot of humor with some very unlikely characters and a possible romance with Tristan. Boy does she make Moloch’s demon life miserable any time she can! What could she possibly do to get our of the deal short of breaking it and how will they all survive? I can’t wait for the second book in this series as I thoroughly enjoyed this first one and we are left with some questions at the end that I can’t wait to see how they resolve! I received and ARC from the author, but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.
You know a book is going to be fun when it opens with this quote: “The road to hell is paved with good intentions. ~ Samuel Johnson”
Shortly after the Civil War, Olivia Madder made a deal with Moloch, a demon lord. To save her farm and sisters she agrees to be a minion to the demon for 200 years. She must collect a soul every decade for her Master.
This book starts with Olivia dressed up in a borrowed ill-fitting, scarlet-red, mermaid-cut, satin dress chasing down an evil demon. The dress is not suited for a chase and she ends up ripping the dress and exposing parts. She does have sensational shoes!
Time is running short for Olivia, the soul she was to collect died and Moloch may have had something to do with it. She has four days to collect a soul for Moloch. What do you know, Moloch offers her a deal to save her going to hell for eternal damnation. All she has to do is collect a book from an old friend’s farm. Demons are tricky characters, making a deal is risky. But what do you do when you are a minion that wants to save the world from demons and only surrender bad souls?
This book is part thriller, mystery and romance. There are some funny bits of dialog like this:” I lied like a politician accused of texting his wiener to an intern.” And the sweet biting southern charm of this quote: “Why you must be all kinds of busy trying to figure out your sense of fashion. I gave her my most catty smile. You just keep on tryin, darlin. You’ll get there.”
I liked this book, Olivia Madder, is a kick ass heroine with a sense of style and sass. She and her sisters are intriguing even if the sisters are ghostly.
I am SO looking forward to many more stories about the Madder sisters and their deals/dealing with the Demon lords. I did read that there were twenty seven demons.
Sending these nasty demons to hell – party fun. Making that demon sorry, about as gross and satisfying as it gets,
Sassy and useful footwear? Oh yeah!
Finishing dealing with love that went oh so wrong- oh no.
What’s a gal to do besides kicking demon butt?
More shoes would be such a better choice than love or redemption or most things.
Facing unpalatable choices with flair as a belle should – rocking it until there is little else to do!
Love the internal conflicts and the heart messy!
Gone with the Minion is a fast paced lesson in making choices and dealing with the consequences resulting from those choices.
Liv is cocky and smart mouthed but she is also smart and strong. She has been keeping up her end of the deal for 150 years but now Moloch wants to change the deal. Never trust a demon. She needs the help of her ghostly sisters and a dead man she has never stopped loving to get out of this mess.
This is the first in a series and I really enjoyed it. This is well worth the read and I will be reading the next in the series asap.
I believe this is only the second book that I have read by Renee George, but I must say it was fun. If you’re looking for a fun, fast paced, and sweet read, this one is right up your alley.
This book is about Olivia Madder: a southern Belle from the civil war era who signed on to be a demon’s minion in order to save her family’s home for her sisters. As with demons, things went awry from there. This story takes place in the present and involves the ghosts of her three sisters, the demon who tricked her, a bunch of demon’s she enjoys sending back to hell for fun, and an interesting paranormal investigator who is on her side. Interesting hi jinks, steamy romance, and some demon ass kicking ensue. Enjoy.
