Bailey Burke has had a rough six months—it’s not easy thinking your romantic overtures toward your best friend caused him to kill himself. Except that’s exactly what happened. Ryan is very much dead, having shot himself with his own police-issued gun. Guilt and grief shouldn’t cause hallucinations though, but six months after Ryan went into the ground, Bailey is freaking out and swearing his … ghost is standing in her kitchen. Which he is…
Ryan claims he didn’t commit suicide, but was murdered, and he needs Bailey to help him find his killer so he can earn his ticket out of purgatory. Ryan’s counting on a stairway to heaven, as opposed to wings, since that might be a little unmanly for a cop, even a dead one.
An expert in home design, with her own staging business, Bailey can tell you where to place a couch to improve flow and comfort, but solving a crime? Not her area of expertise. But with help from Ryan’s former partner, Marner, she is unraveling the mystery of what happened to Ryan that day… and unwittingly putting herself in grave danger.

this book was so bad i couln’t read it
The heroine gets stuck with her dead best friends ghost who wants her to solve his murder. In this book she begins to see his old partner as a potential boy friend. After you read this book you will want to read the other two in the series to find out if she ever gets the guy.
When I started reading it, I liked the premise of her dead friend showing up for help, but I thought the reading seemed like a high-schooler wrote it. As I got further along, I got wrapped up in the story and didn’t notice as much. I really didn’t expect the ending at all.
Enjoyed it a lot! Searched and found the second book, now reading. Great fun!!
Loved reading this book. Enjoyed the ghost!
Cute little mystery. Main characters were interesting and human; normal that is flaws and all. It was an easy read and the plot had a nice twist. Some things you didn’t see coming others you did. I liked it and will read her following books.
Can’t say this book was outstanding by even the most remote definition of the term, but it was entertaining, had me laughing to myself on many occasions, and was just a very enjoyable read.
The first two chapters set the stage very nicely … the last two chapters wrapped things up (and set the stage for the next book in this series) … and everything in the middle, although entertaining and enjoyable, was nothing that would nominate this book for any major awards.
It’s worth the read … you’ll enjoy it … but you may not remember anything about it after a week.
I did not like these books.
a quick fun read – I would recommend as a good summer read
Loved the book. Hard to put down.

fun read
I started it and didn’t put it down until I finished. An easy and enjoyable read!
I enjoyed the book well enough but felt there were a lot of loose ends which was frustrating.
I really loved this book first of all because it involves ghost. It was humorous, certainly not really scary. I enjoyed the main characters also. Now the best part (for me) is that it takes place in my home town which doesn’t happen to often.
Want to smile? This is your book. Witty and charming with just enough saddness . Great beach read.
Very enjoyable. Nice easy read. Characters were believable
I tend to like “cozy mysteries” to read for a quick fun and entertaining way to wind down.
