Bailey Burke has had a rough six months—it’s not easy thinking your romantic overtures toward your best friend caused him to kill himself. Except that’s exactly what happened. Ryan is very much dead, having shot himself with his own police-issued gun. Guilt and grief shouldn’t cause hallucinations though, but six months after Ryan went into the ground, Bailey is freaking out and swearing his … ghost is standing in her kitchen. Which he is…
Ryan claims he didn’t commit suicide, but was murdered, and he needs Bailey to help him find his killer so he can earn his ticket out of purgatory. Ryan’s counting on a stairway to heaven, as opposed to wings, since that might be a little unmanly for a cop, even a dead one.
An expert in home design, with her own staging business, Bailey can tell you where to place a couch to improve flow and comfort, but solving a crime? Not her area of expertise. But with help from Ryan’s former partner, Marner, she is unraveling the mystery of what happened to Ryan that day… and unwittingly putting herself in grave danger.

Very good.
Interesting watching Bailey solve the case of Ryan’s murder, even though she placed herself in danger
I thought the characters were interesting and funny. The book kept me up late reading, couldn’t put it down. Look forward to reading another book in the series.
fun to read
fun quirky story
I really liked this book, the main character is sad because of the death of her best friend. Everyone thinks it is suicide but she feels that’s just wrong. Soon she is visited by her friend….here is the ghost. Not to give away the story, she does proceed to find out who the murderer is. This is very well written. I couldn’t put it down until I finished it. There were definite twists and turns. I would recommend this for a light read, but still whetting your curiosity. Check it out.
I enjoyed the characters. Very easy read. Great for the beach.
This book kept my interest all the way through . . . I was caught by surprise at the ending!
Solving a murder with unusual help.
loved it
Slow in getting to the point of the story
A light summer read. I’m tired of the silly women that are usually portrayed in these types of books, so it was refreshing to watch the lead female grow up some as the story progressed. I thought the twist at the end was nicely done and a little surprising.
Enjoyable light read.
fast read, twisted ending
Loved this story! It was funny, different, and cute! I am hooked on paranormal now!
Very repetitive ! It was like that English essay that you had to write so many words so you kept reiterating phraseology. It was a good plot though. I just wish the editor cleaned up the writing more.
A funny look at life after loss, & humor at dealing with a ghost
Enjoy a book with a good haunting!
A fun story with some unexpected twists.
A fun summer series.
