Bailey Burke has had a rough six months—it’s not easy thinking your romantic overtures toward your best friend caused him to kill himself. Except that’s exactly what happened. Ryan is very much dead, having shot himself with his own police-issued gun. Guilt and grief shouldn’t cause hallucinations though, but six months after Ryan went into the ground, Bailey is freaking out and swearing his … ghost is standing in her kitchen. Which he is…
Ryan claims he didn’t commit suicide, but was murdered, and he needs Bailey to help him find his killer so he can earn his ticket out of purgatory. Ryan’s counting on a stairway to heaven, as opposed to wings, since that might be a little unmanly for a cop, even a dead one.
An expert in home design, with her own staging business, Bailey can tell you where to place a couch to improve flow and comfort, but solving a crime? Not her area of expertise. But with help from Ryan’s former partner, Marner, she is unraveling the mystery of what happened to Ryan that day… and unwittingly putting herself in grave danger.

It was actually a great twist that even though she thought she was in love with her best friend, it turns out he wasn’t really into her at all. The story could easily have gone in the direction of a complicated romance after death, and the choice the author made was actually much more interesting.
I got the book free from BookBub. I is a great little book. Left me looking forward to the next book in the series!
I was able to easily read it through, but if I hadn’t been under the weather that week, I might not have. I’m far from being a stickler for details, but everything was so far-fetched and incongruous. And every time a situation was so glaringly impossible to write a way out of it, the ghost character hadn’t figured it out yet. It was light and often amusing though.
It was ok
I liked this book since it dealt with m ovong from a friendship to a romantic relationship. It also deals with loss and regret in a funny sort of easy way. I think alot of people will be able to identify with the emotions the main character goes through.
When I first started reading it, the beginning of the books seemed a bit clusterish. Like the author wanted to jam-pack how things started out just to get to the main event and was kind of a turn off for me. I had actually started another book and finished that before coming back to this one. After the first few chapters, the book was much better paced, at least I had thought and by the end, the author had me hooked on the characters and I had started reading the sample of the following books. It was really an enjoyable read!
Really enjoyed this book. Likable characters, plot strong, and tipped with lost love and guilt.
Book is cute but I’m tired of the word smirk, smirked, smirking. it is definitely overused by 90% of romance writers.
Bailey has figured for six months, that she’s the reason her friend Ryan killed himself. Then his ghost tells her he was murdered. So now she has to prove it,but finds it’s much harder than she thought it would. Bailey also learns a lot about herself and begins to feel for Ryan’s partner. Lot’s of twists and turns
It was an easy and fun read
An interesting mystery with the twists that keep you reading. The characters are fun.
I really hated this book. I didn’t read much beyond the first few pages because I thought it was just filth.
Fun fast read. Loved it
Can’t wait for book 2
I liked this book very much. I liked the characters and the story. It is cute and funny and easy to read. However, I didn’t give it 5 stars because it ended with a cliff hanger. And it is a series. I think an indefinite amount of books to come. I have many books in my library I still haven’t read, but now I liked this book so much, I had to buy the next one. And if it is as good as the first one, I’ll probably be buying the third one and then the fourth one which is not even available yet!! On it’s own, this book definitely deserves a 5 star rating from me………..I just truly did not want to start another series!
After a busy day at work, it’s a nice easy read, and keeps you turning pages
Can’t wait to read the next one in the series.
Really hard to put down, such a fun read!
Very enjoyable.
This was a fun easy read. Great as a fall asleep book. I will read sequels,it made me laugh but didn’t keep me awake.
